Excellent brisket sandwich, bbq mac n cheese and not so good street corn ($10)! Kind of expensive but #50 on our trek through Texas BBQ.

Haven't posted in a few as nothing exciting has been found in the metroplex, UNTIL NOW!!!!! First, let me preface that I am from Philly and have lived in multiple cities and states, now I have to say the food at Yearbys was some of the VERY BEST BBQ that I have enjoyed in a loooooooooonng time. I have lived in Texas for 14yrs and not one BBQ joint has impressed me with one bite like YEARBYS! The MICKEY FICKEY COLLARD GREENS had me hooked!!!! The mac n cheese excited me and the smoked chicken was SEASONED to the bone. The hospitality was top notch which is just as important as the food. The water ice is reminiscent of home (lemon on bottom w cherry on top IYKYK) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do yourself a favor and check out this wonderful slice of BBQ NIRVANA

Sliced Brisket: 10/10; $16 per half pound Out of all the brisket I've had, Yearby's brisket is the best. The seasonings and meat quality is what really set the stage for me, the meat truly melts in your mouth, and it was absolutely delicious. Half Chicken: 8/10; $13 each The chicken was seasoned very well, usually smoked chicken tends to be bland but that wasn't the case here. It was a little dry but adding their house-made BBQ sauce helps add moisture and extra tangy flavor. Smoked Meatloaf: 10/10; $13 The meatloaf was the wildcard for me, I knew it would either be a hit or miss but it was definitely a homerun. Incredibly flavorful and moist, I just wished I could've gotten a bigger portion. I would come back just for the meatloaf. Smokin Mac and Cheese: 8/10; $5 for 8oz The mac and cheese was tasty, I didn't really taste an additional smokiness, but it was creamy and wasn't heavy at all. Brisket Mac and Cheese: 10/10; $15 This was the winner. This is the side you want. The tender brisket, plus the BBQ sauce, and the creamy mac and cheese. You will forget all your problems and will be on cloud 9. My only complaint is that the serving size was too small, I would pay extra for a larger size. Potato Salad: 8/10; $5 for 8oz The potato salad had great flavor and the acidity was a good side to pair with the fatty and rich meat. It's the perfect pairing for any BBQ. Yearby's Street Corn: 9/10; $5 for 8oz I feel like this was a good twist on the type of elote you get when visiting your local Mexican grocery store. The corn was savory and had a lot of flavors, I also loved the generous amount of cotija cheese used. Watermelon Waterice: 10/10; $5 I've never had Waterice before, I assumed it was going to be a snow cone with the same texture of ice as Bahama Bucks, but I was wrong. It was like ice cream but without the dairy, I later looked up the process and it's made just like how ice cream would be made just dairy free. It was creamy and not too sweet. It was a good treat for a hot summer day and a nice substitute for ice cream. BBQ Sauce: 10/10; Complimentary I love BBQ sauce, I eat it with pizza, fries, and more. The house-made BBQ was sweet and tangy, it paired well with all the food we ordered. The service was excellent, I ordered a lot of the menu as you can see. It took about 25 mins to get all of the food packed up.

Settled in the charming town of Pilot Point, Yearby's Barbecue has some of the best customer service I have ever seen. They are unequivocally kind and passionate about food and it entirely shows! The brisket was tender and juicy and the mac and cheese was so well made. One of the reasons I made the drive out here (about 40 minutes for me) was because this is one of the only Zabiha Halal Texan BBQ restaurants. This place is 100% worth your time, whether you eat Halal or not. The people will make your heart swell and stomach full.

Point brisket, Smokin Mac n cheese and Yearbys street corn.
    Brandon K.

I ordered 1/2 lb of point brisket, Smokin Mac n cheese and the street corn. Everything was top notch. This is top tier brisket for sure. Great addition to the area that's short on real wood smoked meats. Super friendly family run operation, I even saw the kids helping out. The brick and mortar building will be open inside soon. Will definitely be back to try the smoked meatloaf and other items.

Work lunches just hit different when it's from here…read more There were six of us, and somehow we all collectively agreed that one full order of feta fries would be enough... which is adorable in hindsight. Because those fries? Not "shareable." Not "optional." These are crack fries (respectfully). Crispy, hot, loaded with feta and that house sauce doing its thing. Gone in record time. No regrets. Everyone else branched out with different bowls and salads--chicken bowls over basmati, fresh Mediterranean salads stacked with feta, olives, all the good stuff--but me? I stay loyal. The Spicy 360 wrap is my go-to--and let's be very clear--gyro meat only (as it should be ). And somehow... today it leveled up. Like, I took a bite and had a full "hold on" moment. The gyro meat was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and paired with those fresh jalapeños, sautéed onions and mushrooms? Unreal. Then the house sauce comes in and just ties the whole thing together like it knows it's the main character. I genuinely didn't think it could get better, and yet--here we are. Now--important note from your resident "dressing on the side" girl: if you forget to ask for light sauce or on the side, they do not play about it it can feel like a lot. BUT for the rest of my group? That sauce is basically a personality trait. The kind of "I'd throw my whole diet away for this" situation. So just know yourself and plan accordingly--but absolutely try the house sauce on something. It's too good not to. And the staff? Always kind, always helpful, never making you feel rushed even when it's busy. It's one of those places where you can sit, eat, talk a little shop, laugh a lot, and forget you're technically on a lunch break. Consistently good food, good people, and a solid excuse to abandon your sad desk lunch. We'll absolutely keep this one in heavy rotation.

The Butter Sauce Here Changed My Life (and Possibly My Religion)…read more Let me start by saying this. I have eaten a lot of Indian food. Like probably-should-have-a-punch-card-at-every-restaurant-in-Dallas levels of Indian food. So when I stumbled on Spicy Chowk in Denton, tucked in a random shopping center that does not exactly scream culinary magic, I was not expecting much. But then I saw it. The dining room was packed. And not just packed, people were locked in, eating like they were defending their plates from thieves. That is when I knew something serious was going down. So I parked. I walked in. And I am telling you right now, this place delivers. Let's cut straight to the chase. The butter sauce here is the truth. Forget whatever you think you know about butter chicken versus tikka masala. I ordered both on my first visit because I am a responsible adult who makes brave culinary decisions, and I can say without hesitation the butter sauce wins. It is richer, it has that perfect tang, that deep tomato pop, that silky balance of spice and cream that makes you rethink every good tikka masala you have ever had. If you are one of those tikka loyalists, hear me out. You are going to walk in thinking tikka is the move. I get it, I have been you. But trust me, the butter here is where it is at. That is your go-to order. Now let's talk momos because these little flavor bombs are not messing around. The masala momos and butter momos are next-level. I do not know what kind of magic they are working back there, but these dumplings are addictive. You get that Nepali flair with all the depth of Indian spice, and the combo plate is honestly the best way to roll. Round it all out with some garlic naan, which is dangerously good, and a side of rice, and you are basically guaranteed to leave happy, full, and maybe slightly emotional. I have had the saag, which was excellent, and the korma, which was solid, but I am telling you, the butter sauce is the star of the show. That is your ticket. Order the butter anything, butter chicken, butter paneer, butter momos, whatever. Just make sure butter is somewhere in that sentence. Bottom line, Spicy Chowk is one of those rare hidden gems that punches way above its location. It is vibrant, flavorful, and absolutely worth the drive. You will find me here dipping naan like it is a full-time job.

One touch, and they gave in completely. No resistance. Just tender, juicy surrender. I leaned in, and suddenly it was just me and those ribs, no distractions, no dignity left. The kind of experience where you stop caring who's watching. Then the mac and cheese. Soft. Creamy. Rich in a way that feels almost too indulgent. It coats everything slowly, deliberately... like it knows exactly how to linger. Each bite deeper than the last. I didn't rush it. You don't rush something like that. The green beans surprised me. They had bite. Confidence. A little snap that kept things interesting--like a playful contrast to everything else melting around me. Not innocent. Not at all. And then... the tangy pork sauce. Sweet, smoky, just enough sharpness to make you react. I dipped once. Then again. Then I stopped pretending I had any self-control. It clung to everything in the best way--bold, unapologetic, unforgettable. By the time I thought I was completely undone... they handed me free banana pudding. Cool. Smooth. Soft in all the right ways. A gentle finish after everything that came before. I slowed down. Let it linger. Didn't want it to end. I left full... flushed... slightly overwhelmed. Hutchins isn't just BBQ. It's an experience you feel in your whole body.

The pitmaster (a great follow on Instagram) continues to work his magic and create creative dishes that pair flavors from his home country with Texas smoke. My Overall Rating - 3 1/2 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Kafi has undergone a makeover! Gone is the mural with the Wagyu cow. It's been replaced with a natural wood wall that also extends to the line. At the end of the line is what you came for, smoked brisket, back ribs, and more under a heat lamp (more on this later). Kafi BBQ keeps the hookah friendly outdoor space, the red (and comfortable) booth seating, and the smell of smoked wood. 1 Star. Service - The staff is great. Once it's your turn, they will slice your meat to order. I forgot to ask for fatty brisket the last time I went, and they were nice enough to slice it for me. Once your meat is weighed, you get your sides and desserts. Great system - I hope they don't change a thing. 1 Star, Food - I think I figured out why each of my visits to Kafi BBQ haven't been as good as others'. Because the next day when I heat up my leftovers, the brisket is amazing. Kafi BBQ's food sits under a heat lamp. If you visit later in the day when the brisket and ribs have been sitting out, your meat will be dry. All my visits have been the same, and I had to dip it in BBQ sauce (you may or may not like it). Same goes for the sides, the fries sound amazing, but each time I ordered them they had been sitting out. Now, the next day when I reheat the brisket (put it in an oven for 45 min at 225 degrees), it's some of the best brisket in all of North Texas. Heads up! Wagyu brisket comes at a price. I usually spend $100+ for me and my son. 1/2 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. Salahodeen continues to hone this craft. Each visit continues to offer a new experience. While Kafi BBQ is only open Thursday - Sunday, it's still one of the most unique Texas-style BBQ joints (with a Halal twist) in all of North Texas. 1 Star.

The drive up to this new commerce mall was nice, e erything looked new. The new giant Kroger not open yet. Was immediately greeted by the manager, Biko was his name. Immediately the Peter Gabriel song comes to mind, and now it's ear worming me. LOL Menu was bright and easy to read, just gotta figure out the naming system, as this is more middle eastern branded than Greek. I went with Pita & Hummus for "appetizer". It was really good, the Pita was fresh as was the Red Pepper Hummus. I also ordered a side of Falafel with Tzatziki sauce. OMG! These were really yummy!! One of rhe best I've had. For my main dish, I ordered the Gyro Pita Sandwich with 'Greek Fries', which means they're heavily sauced with sauce of choice, mine being a heavy garlic sauce. Also ordered an extra side of their 'beef kofta' to give it a try. The entire meal was delicious!! Everything cooked to perfection and assembled to an eye please treat. Will definitely return and encourage others to go out of their way to try this new restaurant in the Argyle/North Lake area. About 3/4 a mile east off IH-35W at Exit 76.
