My son came home for the week so he said he wanted to get lunch and catch up with me so I let him pick... he absolutely loves this place. I hadn't been since I was maybe late 20's, around his age maybe. We ordered the drunken chicken, the full order. We sat outside to watch the world go by as we caught up with each other. The food was delicious and such a big portion. I took half home. The bread...omg I never met a bread I didn't like and this one is the best one I've ever had. It's this garlicky Cajun oil spread on it and it compliments the dish so well. Now I know why my son always gets an extra order for a dollar. Definitely worth the price and it's very satisfying.

My favorite! Healthy tasty spicy Cajun food at a great price. Located at the end of the Mass Ave strip past bottle works! They have all the classic beans rice and sausage favorites. Also a nice selection of vegan options. Not a fancy place but the food is great and won't break the bank. Try the B and B. So good!

Get place to stop in for a quick bite! Meals are prepared fairly quickly, and are a great value for the price! Today I had the half and half plate of drunken chicken and chorizo étouffée. This comes over rice, with a side of the bread. Both choices were great and not too spicy for me! The bread is delicious and pairs well. Overall, a great, easy spot for lunch or dinner!

Good restaurant with good food at a great price. I got carry out. Someone was quick to take my order and the food came out in just 5-10 minutes. The food was great! Perfect Cajun creole flavor. It was also very cheap. I didn't eat in the restaurant, but it is pretty standard inside. Lots of space to sit down and eat. Overall this is a good place to get good, cheap food. Despite the low price, they definitely to not lack on flavor!!

The service was good but the quality in food was terrible. I ordered a chili cheese etoufee with the crawfish. The dish was cold, the rice was slimy, and the crawfish was gray. I thought I'd at least feel better snacking on the bread but the topping might as well have been old grease. It's been years since I've been to Yats and now I remember why! You get what you paid for, my entree was under $10 before my 20% tip. Never again!!! I'm surprised such low quality food is available on Mass Ave. SLOP! The bathroom was also filthy but I visited out of desperation.

Stopped here today with my husband and two toddlers for a quick easy meal and that's what we got. We also got beer from a very limited beer selection since the tap wasn't in working order. The red head host was the one who took our order and served us. I don't know what his problem was but he gave off I don't want to serve you vibes. He was very short with us and had bad energy. I won't be returning.

I've been coming to Yats for over 15 years and I'm never disappointed. I like the location on Mass Ave but parking can sometimes be tricky. Definitely get the free Cajun garlic powder sauce to add to your meal!

There's something about the absolute culture of this place that has me vying for more every time. Interior is neat and cultivates a New Orleans aesthetic. Something consistent across locations-- the workers all vibe. They're always so relaxed and kind. Bread is phenomenal. I go crazy for the Chili Cheese Crawfish and Spinach Mushroom Etoufee half and half. They give you so much food for decent pricing and it's so delish! If you've never been in and not sure what you'd like, they'll let you try samples. You can't go wrong with any option though. Pictures don't do the tastes justice!

Food is good and recommend the half/half serving. Ambience is kind of hipster to an extent. Service is quick usually.

Great special and offers on the menu. I went with combo #5 .5 pound crab .5 pound shrimp and 1 lobster tail. $41.99. I picked all 3 sauces spicy. The bag came and when I opened it wow it smelled great. Lobster tail was a nice size and very good. Shrimp was great the crab legs were very good. They were about size 3,5-4 on the crab scale that runs 1-5 (5 being the best size) the crabs legs had great meat in them and very big. Normally places give you a size 2-3 so this was a very nice surprise. Potato's and corn were great. Very happy with the food and value. Great deal if I lived here I would come once a week. So would I come back? Yes Yes and Yes. Come try this place.

The pimento cheese dip was fine; closer to a nacho cheese dip. Both dips came with too few naan dippers to finish the dip (they charged extra for extra naan to finish the dip). - The cajun pasta was fine. Pasta was cooked well. I got it with chicken, which tasted good. The sauce was fine. - The hot honey chicken tenders were crispy, but lacked flavor. - The CBR chicken sandwich was good. Crispy and good size. - Do not order the side mac n cheese. $6 for some Stouffer's mac n cheese topped with the pimento cheese dip (that's basically nacho cheese dip). Overall, if someone asked to meet here for a meal I would request another restaurant but I'd still eat here if they insisted.

I recently tried Slap's Fish Market and sampled a little bit of everything--lobster roll, burrito,…read morecheesecake, and their lobster deviled eggs--and overall it was a really memorable experience. The service was very helpful deciding what to order. The setting was fun down town indanopolis feel. The lobster roll was definitely the standout. It was packed with fresh, flavorful lobster and had a nice balance of buttery richness without feeling too heavy. You can tell the seafood is high quality, which makes a huge difference. The lobster deviled eggs were super unique and honestly one of my favorite bites. Creamy, slightly tangy, and topped with lobster--it's not something you see everywhere, and they executed it really well. My husband tried the shrimp burrito, which was great for a seafood spot. It was hearty, well-seasoned, and filled generously. It didn't feel like an afterthought on the menu. To finish, the cheesecake was a great choice it was from the cheesecake factory is what the offered for my birthday smooth, rich, and just the right level of sweetness with a strawberry topping to end the meal without being overwhelming. Overall, Slap's Fish Market delivers on both creativity and quality. It's a great spot if you want fresh seafood with a few fun, unexpected twists. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

Not gonna lie, my work group really likes coming here when we have lunch outings. My only problem?…read moreI very much dislike seafood to any capacity. Yet, I still eat here just fine. I feel like most seafood places will have vegetarian options by way of removing the fish from pasta dishes or salad, but it's also nice to know that you can get chicken as a substitute on most of these kinds of dishes, too. Granted, it's just like chicken tenders, but still good nonetheless. I really like their firecracker pasta, which is moderately spicy in my opinion. There's no particular fishy smell here, which is always a good sign that the seafood they serve here is freshly prepared. Our food always comes out quickly for lunch and we've been a group as large as 8 or 9. I do believe that ordering is mostly done online in their mass Ave location, though. I don't really seek out a place like Slapfish on my own (no offense at all, just not a seafood girlie!!), but I would assume that it's a rather popular establishment as they recently opened a fifth location in the greater Indy area. If I did like fish and such more, I'd probably be here on a more regular rotation.
