Went in during the morning before my flight back home. The parking wasn't too difficult to find and we were seated very promptly. Saw quite a few college students since the restaurant is very close to Gonzaga. It's a pretty standard brunch restaurant. The bacon and sausages were delicious! Both meals were missing ingredients. Yard burger was missing the carmelized onions and the Full Breakfast was missing the sausage. Other menu items were not available. Super nice server, but the cooks just don't prepare the food as advertised. The carmelized onions would have played well off the mustard covered delicious patty. Who forgets the sausage in a beakfast platter...there's a great brunch spot just a few blocks away that is levels above the Yards. read more

Went in for a Friday brunch and the restaurant was busy enough but had enough tables for us to get seated right away. I ordered Tomato and avocado omelette with walnuts because I thought it was an interesting combo. It was just oh-kay though. Tomato was a little sour than I thought it would be and didn't see much avocado in my omelette. I tried my friend's chicken and waffle and I should've ordered that instead of! I always thought it would be a weird to eat chicken and waffle together at the same time but it was actually good. The tomato died a long time ago. :( it's in season right now and should not be smushy. My husband had the Cuban and said it was "Meh". The waitress came back and asked how it was. We started with the deviled eggs, they had bacon and maple syrup drizzle. So delicious! I had the Chicken N waffles. What a perfect combination of savory and sweet. The coleslaw with pickled jalapeños accompanied the plate perfectly. The French dip was good too. I will definitely be returning. The restaurant has an old fashion feel to it and is painted Tiffany Blue. It appeared that they only had 2 Servers at lunchtime but that didn't effect our service. Oh. My. Gosh. What an amazing place! We came here for breakfast and were literally not disappointed. My favorite color is Tiffany blue first of all and the walls are just that color! I'm so excited about this review. We didn't have to wait at all and were seated immediately which is refreshing for a Saturday. Saturday brunch around 10:00, waited awhile (maybe 20 mins?) but they'll start you on some coffee as you wait. Cute spot with good atmosphere, lots of lil shops etc around to peruse afterwards. The breakfast burrito was on the bland side so it def needed lots of the salsa, the AM fried rice was saltier than I'd like with the soy sauce and pastrami (and they really should use gochujang if they're going the kimchi route). Basically a disorganized mess of an operation. They can't seem to get vacant table bussed, despite several people waiting to be seated I have a fixed lunch hour and have tried to eat at the Yards three times. Already knowing how inefficient this restaurant is, I tried to call ahead and get my name on the waitlist before my five minute walk over there. They refused to take my name for the wait list, claiming wait times were only 10 minutes and they needed us in the building to sign in. Took one more shot and actually getting lunch and it was the same old thing. We were finally the last people waiting for a table, when a couple walked in and sat in the waiting area. The wait staff walked over called their name and when I mentioned the other people just got there, The waitress proudly announced the other couple had come in and put their name in earlier and now we're returning to be seated. Being fed up and having squandered most of another lunch hour, I walked out with my guest, never to return again. If you have a fixed lunch hour and cannot wait indefinitely to be seated, or do not wish to understand what is apparently a fixed/rigged reservation system, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME with this particular establishment. read more

Creative and mostly well-executed food. Awful coffee. Eye-watering prices. Potentially long waits. Earnest and friendly but over-whelmed wait staff. Not too clean. First, I would suggest getting here before 9:30am on a weekend morning to avoid a long wait. Food was pretty dang tasty. My kids got the waffles with bacon inside and I most helpfully cleaned up their scraps. Crisp outside, fluffy interior. Ample bacon bits. My plate of biscuits and gravy was much larger than expected. Gravy was a bit grainy from abundance of flour and lacking both kick and sausage. Perhaps a Tablespoon of sausage in 3/4 Cup of gravy. Biscuits were awesome. Side eggs were cooked in some of that sickly yellow oil blend they use at your finer Perkins or Dennys. Coffee was pretty awful. Required three sugars and a massive glug of cream just to get it down. It may be a Spokane thing or a Washington thing. IDK but it was bitter and acidic as all get-out. Kids hot chocolates ($4 each) came to the table cool. Not warm or even room temp. COOL! The waitress helpfully asked if she could pour some cold cream in there to bring the temp down which would have been a really nice touch if they were actually hot. A nit picky thing but seems to speak to structural / procedural issues that were endemic on my visit. Upon sitting down I was told they were out of kids menus. Saturday morning at 9am. Entering the busy weekend. Ok. At 9:45 the people next to me were told they were out of fries, would they like their poutine served with house potatoes instead? As I sat at the counter, directly in front of me at eye level was a greasy, dust-bunny strewn counter piled with ostensibly clean plates for the cooks to draw from. On the far end was a stack of small plates that literally had spiderwebs crawling up the bottom 5-6 plates. Bleck. New plates stacked on top. Plates on bottom never get rotated. Counter surface doesn't get wiped. My coffee cup also sat empty for 5 minutes before the first refill, and I had to call out for it. Coming from a waitstaff background at a breakfast joint this is a cardinal sin. The server should dang near pop out of the floor like a jack-in-the-box when that cup is down to 1/3 asking if the guest wouldn't like a "warm up." Nice server but over-stretched. So between this, cold hot chocolate, 86ed fries and kids menus and filthy counters a pattern emerges of some really simple issues that aren't paid attention to. For a greasy spoon this is A-Ok, may even chalk it up to "charm," but at nearly $40 for breakfast for one grown up and two kids it's a kinda hard to stomach. Throw a 4% service fee on every bill and we're solidly in 3-star territory. Generously. They DO have a Yelp check-in offer valid Monday through Friday for free awful coffee with an entree purchase. Anyway... I can see why people like this place. It does have considerable charm if you overlook yellow flags, and it feels like "the place to be" for a certain class of arm-sleeved Patagonia-clad folk on a weekend morning. I finally got the chance to eat here ! I have only ever attempted to eat here on weekends and there is typically always a line and I would usually give up and go somewhere else to eat. Now that I finally ate here it wont bother me that there is a long line every time because I will probably no be comeing back. Service: Our waitress was super nice and would drop by frequency to check on us. Food: I ordered the huevos rancheros and it was just not good. The sauce that they added tasted like it came from a can and overall it was just way too salty. I would not recommend it. There's a lot of hype for this place and it's just okay. There was a line and an hour wait. When we were finally seated it was good service. However, they weren't enforcing the mask requirement, it as posted but there was a family with their masks on their chins, loitering around the tables. We ordered and the food came out pretty quickly; however, the eggs Benedict...the one that had won awards, was totally off. The hollandaise sauce was off, it was sour and tasted more like sour cream. The color was off as well. When we complained the waitress offered to bring something else. My niece had been before and knew what she was ordering, so it's not like she doesn't know a good bene, but the waitress refused to acknowledge the sauce was off. My other niece and I finished our meals long before her meal replacement was brought to the table . It was awkward and uncomfortable, and the restaurant didn't seem to care. I ordered the mushroom Benedict and was terribly disappointed. It may as well have been mushy soup. The hollandaise sauce was liquid like water and tasted like they used a McCormick seasoning packet to make it, but hadn't let it thicken. This was put in the bottom of a bowl with English muffins over top that became soggy, the kale was limp and flavorless and there were hardly any mushrooms! Was in Spokane for business and was looking for a good brunch spot. I found it! The only bad reviews are based on wait time. Honestly it was no big deal. We had about a 20 min wait which we passed by having one of their Moscow mules. It was delicious. The food was amazing. I had the Yards Benedict, which was one of the best Benedict's I've ever had. The staff was amazing. The food was wonderful. I'd highly recommend this place. I'd rather wait at an amazing restaurant than get in quick at a shitty one. If you are in Spokane this is a must! I came in with my four month old and they turned us away for having her in a compact stoller saying "no stollers" high chairs only. . I explained that she was too little for the high chair and that I couldn't hold her the entire time and they said no can't have it And I said I guess we can't stay and they said ok. Well this stroller is the bitsy contours it is so small. SMALLER than one of their chairs. Not a family friendly environment at all. Went to to cottage cafe instead. This place definitely gives off diner vibes and lives up to the hype of being one of the best brunch places in Spokane. The biggest problem was the persistent​ sun that came in through the front windows that affected at least half of the tables in the restaurant​. So, this is the first review I've ever done but my husband and I love food and critiquing when we eat. We both have worked in the hospitality industry and know and love food. I am visiting my best friend and decided it's time that I need to share my constructive criticism. Ordered: Bloody Mary's Poutine Brunch burger Deviled eggs Kale red pepper salad Reading the menu I had high expectations and they have really good ideas but their execution fell short. Bloody Mary was flavorless except for some bland pepper. Deviled eggs have a great creamy texture but the syrup and egg white was over powering. I was super excited about the brunch burger but again the sweet maple was over powering. I expected a salty sweet burger but it was just sweet and it had the saddest half piece of bacon ever. With my burger I had a side salad of the red pepper kale salad. I was super excited about this salad because it has candied sunflower seeds...yummy idea. However, they missed this on my salad, but when asked my waitress promptly brought me some and they were delicious. The poutine was delicious, only criticism is make your own fries. So overall, great ideas just work on execution. Service was prompt but asbesntminded. Coming from Seattle the price was awesome! read more

One of our favorite brunch spots in the heart of Kendall yards. I've had the poutine, breakfast tacos, and their omelets - all well above average and homemade. Coffee and Bloody Mary paired perfectly with my breakfasts. They were efficient however not necessarily friendly. Overall the restaurant was clean except if you look up at the ceiling and vents which were atrocious. The food left me expecting a little more flavor. El Cubano is what I chose to try. I found sandwhich a bit dry overall and wishing the pork had been better seasoned. The restaurant does serve breakfast and I did notice a lot to people eating that. Maybe I will try them again choosing breakfast item. That's if I can get past that awful vents and ceiling. What a disappointment. I ordered breakfast delivery through Uber Eats. Eggs, potatoes, toast, bacon and sausage. I normally don't order breakfast to be delivered but I thought I'd try Yards because it's close to me. Never again. I ordered the basic breakfast. 2 eggs, toast, bacon, sausage and potatoes. How hard could that be? I ordered scrambled eggs because how hard could that be? Instead I got 2 fried eggs which were runny and just gross. The bacon was burnt. The sausage was overcooked and the toast was cold. The potatoes were cold. The prices for this place are not worth it. I've had better breakfasts at Franks, Rustys, etc. I will never frequent this place again. Not worth it. I will say that Uber Eats were on time and in no way were they responsible. The Yards was my "go to" for several years, especially for breakfasts/brunch when I had friends in town. Over time I have sampled their whole menu and realized that they don't really have anything outstanding there. I'd say my favorite is probably the AM fried rice - but they have several other dishes that are filling and comfortable. I'd say their breakfast sandwiches should be completely avoided aside from the the breakfast burger. Unfortunately, the last time I was there I was around the area for a walk and thought it'd be really great to sit outside with the dogs and my partner to have breakfast. Think again, despite seeing dogs with their owners there less than a month previous - the hostess said she cannot seat us with dogs (even outside) due to it being a health code violation. Pretty sure that's BS. Strange she would turn us down like that though. read more

Today was my last time going to the Yards. Over the last couple of years I've observed it's slow decent into mediocrity. It seems its popularity is driven more by convenience of location than actual quality of food, price and quantity. Had to send the Cubano back because they forgot the pork belly. After another 15 minutes went by, instead of a new fresh sandwich, they returned the old sandwich with a few cut up pieces of pork belly that looked like salad topping. It was as disappointing as the heavily curried carrot and curry soup. When I asked for a price adjustment, they gave me a 25% discount on the sandwich, but I would of rather not ordered any of it. read more
