Went here the other day with the lady, and had a pretty solid dinner experience. I ended up having a chicken sandwich which I thought was good, however my partner tried the jambalaya with pasta and thought it was amazing. This place would be good if the prices matched the quality, but everything seems to cost a bit more than it should for the quality. The menu is more interesting than a typical bar, and my wife and I appreciated that they have so many vegan/vegetarian options (she's vegan-ish). But each burger was about $13 and wasn't quite as big or as good as something you'd get for the same money at, say, Red Coat or Vinsetta Garage (the gold standards for burgers in this area). The beer was ridiculous. I got a Modelo Negra -- a fairly "standard" beer -- and it was $6.25 (!), and my wife got some sort of sour beer that was over $9 (!!) for some reason. Comparable beers at breweries or other beer bars like Hopcat or Ale Mary's cost $2-3 less, so that was disappointing. I still have a bit of money left in a gift card so I'll probably stop by for a beer at some point, but I don't know if I'd come back otherwise when there are so many great, more reasonably priced options around. read more

the food here is delicious! i had the gardine chicken tenders with truffle fries, the grilled cheese and tomato basil soup, cheese curds and the black orchid martini. everything was amazing! i love that they have the vegetarian items clearly marked on the menu and they have so many options. the staff was okay but not overly friendly and the restaurant is loud and a little hard to have a conversation but the food makes up for it. read more

I wish I could give this 5 Stars just for the service. Zoe the hostess was so sweet when I walked in the door and was very welcoming. The waitresses we had were also very nice and helpful when answering questions. The space is large and great for groups. They have an extensive food and beer menu. The reason it got 3 stars was because they food was pricey and not very good. I got the Vegan Burger and my friend got the Maui Pineapple Chicken with Jasmine Rice. They both were very bland and didn't have much flavor. The side salad I received was so drenched in dressing that I couldn't eat it. I think this place is great for drinks with a large group or to just sit by the bar. The space is huge and nicely decorated. Not sure if I would go here again, maybe for a quick drink but not to eat. read more

First time stopping by Yard House in Troy, MI. Heard about a "close to home" Yard House while visiting YH in Las Vegas last month. Couldn't wait to try it out in Michigan. Went on a Wednesday night and while it was pretty busy, we were seated in less than 25 mins. Atmosphere is very cool. Love the Classic Rock throughout the restaurant. Not too loud, but good background music. I came back to YH for the ribeye dinner. Loved it in Vegas, so I ordered it in Troy. The steak was brought out well after my salad, which was nice. While the ribeye was good there was a couple of small issues. Steak was more rare, than what I ordered and I had to wait (about 10 mins) before eating my steak as I had no steak knife to cut it. Hard time getting anyone to bring me the knife. I compared the steaks from both restaurants and feel that the Vegas YH seasons it steaks better and there are not many small bones throughout the steak (main bone is to be expected, but I found 4 smaller bones in different places w/in the steak). The large Caesar salad was fantastic. Potatoes and broccoli were very good too. Son had the carnivore pizza and he loved it. Server was very friendly and pleasant. After the meal, though, we waited and waited for our server to come by with the check. Still, though, we had a good time. While Vegas YH is a better option, knowing that Troy's Yard House is in my backyard, we will probably be back again soon. read more

I order a steak and it taste like they cut it from the cow and put it on the grill without the seasoning not salt or pepper nothing... the potatoes where warm at best... what they did to the broccoli... I asked the waiter how was it cooked and he said just boiled.‍... we opted of the Asparagus but they were out, so they brought out the broccoli with a cup of cold butter... the was baby broccoli... the best with no favor... oh I drive a least a hour for a meal the would've been best serve and cooked from my kitchen read more

We were looking for a place with Oktoberfest beers on tap and Yard House happened to be one of the places on our list. It has been a few years for us since the last time we were here. We were actually one of the very first patrons of the Yard House. We were so impressed by their beer selections. They have many guest taps to choose from, but trust me, their Yard House beers are fantastic. I ended up ordering a blonde honey YH beer, and I loved it. He ordered something dark that packed an extra punch in the ABV world! lol We made it just under the wire for their happy hour which runs from 3-6. We ordered quite a few things: wings, cheese curds, and sliders. The wings were basic, the cheese curds DELISH! We both loved the spicy dipping sauce and the sliders were great, too. Our bartender was fantastic and very attentive. All that food and drink for under $30. We will most certainly be back....next week can't get here soon enough! hahaaa read more

So we came there once before and had horrible service. Our food got delivered to another table. We ended up with someone else's order. It was a disaster & an hour wait until he got it right. The manager was nice & gave us half off our bill for the problems. BUT LAST NIGHT we came & got Brad and oh my! The complete change in our experiences was so worth a mention! The food was A-1! And Brad was super nice & efficient. We never waited for anything last night and it all came out piping hot. We had two pizzas, two kalamaris, two chicken fingers and the queso dip along with cocktails. Bill was only $73! Well worth us giving it a second try! read more

If you are into craft beers, then maybe this is your place, but don't come for the food. The calamari appetizer is a joke. It's a tiny portion and there was more breading than actual squid. Tower of onion rings was cold and soggy. Their Mac & Cheese dish was awful and basically tasted like just an entire bowl of fatty bacon. The chicken sandwich was the most bland thing I've ever tasted. They even managed to screw up a club sandwich, which I thought was impossible. Even the side salad was inedible as the dressing tasted terrible. So bad that several of us in the party hardly ate any of our entrees. Went here for a ladies night and I was very impressed! We had to wait to be seated because we had a large party but that wasn't a problem it was a 45min wait. Everybody ordered an appetizer and we shared them all. (Delicious) I ordered a ribeye with spinach mashed potatoes, brocolli and a skewer of grilled shrimp plus two magaritas. So not worth it. Came here with my husband on a Saturday night and had to fight for seats at the bar (there was a line out the door to be seated). While the beer selection is phenomenal, the food is actually quite disgusting. I first ordered the chicken lettuce wraps which I could not even swallow. The chicken was oddly chewy, and the lettuce looked like it hadn't been washed. After waiting over 30 minutes for the rest of the appetizers we ordered, we were notified that they ran out of what we had ordered. This is a big no-no for Saturday night. My husband ordered a sandwich and barely touched it. If you want a good meal, avoid this place at all costs. I would come back to grab a drink. read more

The short-version of my review is that the food and drinks are extremely overpriced and the service is bad. I came here on Sunday for dinner with a total of 5 people. We had called ahead (you can do that 15 minutes before you arrive) but it wasn't necessary since there were plenty of open tables. 2 people at my table each ordered beers - a lager and an IPA. When the waitress brought them and announced what they were, we were confused why the lager was in a tulip glass. We tried it and it was a sour (and not a good one at that). We waited another 20 minutes before our waitress came by again and told her that it was the wrong beer. She came back with the beer in hand and explained that the person who was supposed to get the lager got the IPA and they should just switch back. The "IPA" was most definitely a sour but it took some arguing before she finally brought us the right one. I ordered the chicken tacos. They were ok - the rice with them tasted like it was scooped out from a big vat of school cafeteria food which had been sitting on a warmer for awhile. Our plates were also extremely hot which indicated that several of them had sat under a warmer for a long time. There is a tablet at the table which we had to use to get our waitresses attention several times. While waiting for her to come back my husband started fiddling around on the tablet and played a trivia game that was advertised as free. When our bill came, there was a $1.99 charge on our bill for playing a game. This could be especially dangerous with children at the table - there is absolutely nothing stating that you will be charged to play the game. Lastly, happy hour hit at 10pm so my sister ordered wine. They were out of that one and offered her a substitute. She said she would just take whatever wine was the same price as the one she had ordered. On the bill she had been charged for a much more expensive wine and the waitress said yes, that's what we substituted and it is more expensive. After some arguing she ended up correcting it to the lower price. Between how long we sat with empty drinks, how average (at best) our food was, and the ridiculous pricing, I do not expect that I will be coming back. read more

Oversized booths for bigger parties and a cozy bar if you're just there with a few people. My favorite time to go here is at night. We stopped in one night looking for a place to warm up at after freezing our butts off at campus martius and it was a pleasant surprise to find it so lively, especially in Troy! Took about 15 minutes for them to seat us even though there were 20+ open tables/booths. The group ordered 3 different appetizers... none of them came out. Finally our food orders came out after about 50 minutes after ordering. They blandly apologized for forgetting the appetizers. We all got different variations of the lunch specials (mostly soup and salad combos, not sure why it took so long.) Unfortunately we had to send 2 of the soups back because they were room temperature, at best. Disappointing to say the least. There were only maybe 12 tables total at this time, on a week day and the service was beyond awful. The food was very bland and boring. Had a super freaking night with Nick and Ashley at the bar. (Wed 1/29/20) We are out of towners here on business and Nick was super incredibly welcoming. Being from the south, we loved his jokes about "iced tea" vs ice tea. Nick took super great care of us all night and made sure we Always had everything we needed. He recommended his favorite dish, which unfortunately I could not have due to dietary restrictions but what I did order (poke bowl) turned out to be AMAZING!! Anyone who is dieting and needs strictly proteins and greens, the poke bowl is the perfect option. Delicious and healthy without feeling restrictive at all!! Loved it. So when it comes to there beer selection...I give 5 stars off bat, I keep coming here for that alone, they have such a cool wide variety of drafts. The bar staff has been phenomenal every time, so that's always where I sit. The food has honestly been hit or miss for me. But let me say, if you like ahi tuna, their poke nachos are BOMB! I've had a few things here so far like the sesame chicken, and bbq chicken salad, the blacked shrimp taco, and none of them really impressed me, it was just eh..okay. What seems to be a hit, and I will probably try next time is their sandwiches, like a classic burger or the Nashville chicken. The restaurant itself is super cute, has a nice area where it's outdoorsy with the windows "open" to catch a breeze, like a patio type of area, and it's lit up really nice at night. I guess I should have just seen the reviews. This place is a step below garbage. First, the service was just awful. He messed up my Nashville sandwich; then messed up the dessert order. He didn't listen, didn't write anything, if you can't remember then write it down. Agree with other reviews that the price was a exorbitant for the quality and quantity you get. So many good restaurants on Big Beaver, I don't see why anyone would come here. Ordered dirty martinis.....came without olives. I don't even know what to say. Bar tender to waiter fail. Would advise McDonald's over this place, that disappointing. read more
