    Braised pork

Yami Buffet: Where Lunch Becomes a Full-Blown Flavor Affair You walk in expecting a basic buffet. You walk out wondering if you just had a culinary awakening. Yami Grill and Buffet 8870 Kingsridge Dr, Dayton, OH 45458 Let's break it down: Salad bar: Small but mighty. That ginger dressing? Creamy, punchy, and suspiciously addictive. I'd bottle it if I could. Fresh fruit: A sweet little intermission before the flavor chaos begins. Dim sum: Yes, actual dim sum on a lunch buffet. Shrimp dumplings so good I considered canceling plans just to eat more. Sticky chicken wrapped in mystery leaves? Texture and flavor so perfect I didn't ask questions--I just grabbed seconds. Ramen bar: Pig tongue, pig feet, pig ears--if you're feeling bold, this is your moment. Made-to-order bowls that deliver flavor and bragging rights. Hibachi station: Every meat, every veggie, sizzling like they're auditioning for a cooking show. Fresh, fast, and made just for you. Braised pork: Tender, juicy, and possibly enchanted. If I ever get a last meal request, this is it. No notes. Pepper steak: So tender it'll make you question every other version you've ever had. It's the steak equivalent of a mic drop. Tofu dishes: Don't skip them. Packed with flavor and clearly out to prove they're not just filler. These tofu cubes came to slay. Mystery fish dish: Spicy, savory, and giving major kimchi vibes. I don't know what it was, but I want it again. Sushi bar: Fresh selection plus made-to-order rolls. Recommendation: crispy spicy tuna roll. You're welcome. Atmosphere? Clean, spacious, and perfect for small groups, big families, or your entire bingo squad. Staff? Friendly, fast, and probably telepathic. Price? Lunch buffet $14.99. Military, first responders, seniors: $13.49. Parking? Easy. No circling like a vulture. Final verdict: Come hungry. Leave happy. And maybe a little emotionally attached to the braised pork. Dinner review coming soon--because yes, I'm already planning my return like it's a sequel.

We won't return to Yami Buffet. The sushi and sashimi are fine, but most other food seemed of questionable freshness, inauthentic, and low quality. The wall next to our table had tons of food smears and splatters. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned or painted since the Golden Corral closed. Several items were dried out and inedible. The Peking duck was both fatty and overcooked. At the end of the meal, my party of three were making bets on whether we'd get food poisoning. (Thankfully we didn't.) Just avoid this place!

This is the second time we've ordered delivery from Green Chili. I don't think we'll do it again…read more The first time, although, I chose "Medium" spicy, the food was way way too spicy. I have a fairly high spice tolerance, but this was ridiculous. Unedible. The second time, having learned my lesson, I chose "Mild", and still, it was spicier than I was expecting. But my main complaint was that the food was way too oily. You can see from the photos that the channa masala, in particular is covered in a 1/4" thick layer of pure oil.

The Great Indian Food Letdown (feat. DiGiorno as the hero)…read more Oh how I miss Curry Grill--the food, the flavor, the soul. So when a new spot took over our beloved location, I showed up hopeful, hungry, and emotionally vulnerable. Ambiance: Nice. Bright. Open. But... no smell. And let's be clear, if I walk into an Indian restaurant and don't get slapped across the nose by turmeric, cardamom, and "I'm about to destroy this naan," I'm already side-eyeing the samosas. Takeout: Staff was lovely. Ordering was easy. Packaging? Perfection--no leaks, no drama. But the moment I opened those containers, my spice senses were still ghosting me. Thought I was sick. Did the sniff test. Nope--just tragically flavorless. Butter Chicken: Tender chicken, yes. But the sauce tasted like its color--confused and unseasoned. Like someone whispered "spices" from across the street. Tandoori Chicken: Bitter. Dry. Overcooked. No heat, no depth, just sadness wrapped in meat form. Garlic Naan: Acceptable. Not a main character but showed up. Rice: Was... rice. Not much else to say. It clocked in. By the end, I was broken, betrayed, and popping a DiGiorno in the oven like it was my rebound romance. No regrets--at least DiGiorno shows up with flavor and doesn't gaslight my taste buds. Would I recommend it? No. Will I return? Nope. Will I tell the tale of tasteless curry until my final breath? Absolutely. Curry Grill, you spoiled us. Green Chile, please don't take this personally... but your spices missed their shift. Want me to help write a dramatic "foodie breakup letter" next? Or drop this into a savage meme format? I've got your back and your belly.

It can be a bit awkward when you're there when it first opens because you're one of the few people there, so they watch you from a  distance. I appreciate how they're on top of everything and always refill my drink and take my plates away. The food is the typical Chinese comfort food. They have buns, dumplings, chicken, beef, fish, salad bar, sushi bar, desserts, soups, and some American food. The few times I've visited BMB, I've seen them have crab legs, crawfish, and one time a nearly whole fish of fried tilapia. Since I come in when they first open, the food is always hot, tasty, and such eye candy that I tend to eat more with my eyes than my stomach, lol. The dessert cakes are light and a nice sweet treat to end your buffet meal. The sushi bar has different sushi and tempura rolls on display and plates of Kimchi, crawfish, and other dessert (cookies, ice cream) and sushi options on each end of the bar. Compared to other restaurants these days, the price is reasonable. In addition, the atmosphere is very calm for a nice meal. I always enjoy my time coming here and highly recommend it!

Restaurant itself lacking. Muzak renditions of Chinese traditionals and an empty dining room for good reason. Won't be back, praying my stomach weathers the night.
