This is the second time we've ordered delivery from Green Chili. I don't think we'll do it again. The first time, although, I chose "Medium" spicy, the food was way way too spicy. I have a fairly high spice tolerance, but this was ridiculous. Unedible. The second time, having learned my lesson, I chose "Mild", and still, it was spicier than I was expecting. But my main complaint was that the food was way too oily. You can see from the photos that the channa masala, in particular is covered in a 1/4" thick layer of pure oil. read more

The Great Indian Food Letdown (feat. DiGiorno as the hero) Oh how I miss Curry Grill--the food, the flavor, the soul. So when a new spot took over our beloved location, I showed up hopeful, hungry, and emotionally vulnerable. Ambiance: Nice. Bright. Open. But... no smell. And let's be clear, if I walk into an Indian restaurant and don't get slapped across the nose by turmeric, cardamom, and "I'm about to destroy this naan," I'm already side-eyeing the samosas. Takeout: Staff was lovely. Ordering was easy. Packaging? Perfection--no leaks, no drama. But the moment I opened those containers, my spice senses were still ghosting me. Thought I was sick. Did the sniff test. Nope--just tragically flavorless. Butter Chicken: Tender chicken, yes. But the sauce tasted like its color--confused and unseasoned. Like someone whispered "spices" from across the street. Tandoori Chicken: Bitter. Dry. Overcooked. No heat, no depth, just sadness wrapped in meat form. Garlic Naan: Acceptable. Not a main character but showed up. Rice: Was... rice. Not much else to say. It clocked in. By the end, I was broken, betrayed, and popping a DiGiorno in the oven like it was my rebound romance. No regrets--at least DiGiorno shows up with flavor and doesn't gaslight my taste buds. Would I recommend it? No. Will I return? Nope. Will I tell the tale of tasteless curry until my final breath? The green chili pakoras were very good but I didn't particularly care for the channa saag. It was made with a tomato sauce and I prefer a cashew cream sauce. The gobi Manchurian is good, though I would prefer that it be made without any soy sauce. What I really liked was the friendly service and the fact that the menu prominently displayed vegan selections with an easy to identify symbol.(see picture).I look forward to returning. read more

We had an excellent experience at Green Chili. The best way to learn about an Indian restaurant is to sample its lunch buffet. You can eat a variety of dishes and get a feel for the entire menu. Green Chili is excellent. The tandoori chicken legs were excellent, moist and full of flavor. The same with the goat and chickpea curries. Not too spicy but with a pleasant kick. We like the variety of buffet for Indian food and stopped here for lunch. Im between 4.5 and 5. Big improvement to previous restaurant. We both agreed best Indian buffet since Amar stopped doing buffets. Full disclosure not as good as Amars but they have no intention of ever doing buffet again. Seated immediately. Food was fresh, naan, especially, with a few curries available: paneer, tikka masala, butter chicken, and chicken curry, along with some lentil curry and a few fried items like samosas, papadums, and fish pakora. Tandoori chicken was a little tough and chewy. The spice profile was low (flavorful but not spicy to me). If you like Indian cuisine, then you will be back again and again. The food is served hot and spicy with excellent authentic seasoning. If it is heat you're seeking then the 6/10 is a good starting point. The Chix Tiki Marsala is awesome but the Tandoori Mix will knock your socks off with enough to feed 3-4. What used to be Curry & Grill is now Green Chili - just as delicious but with more options. This is our second time here, first time under the new name and ownership. The buffet has more choices than before and everything we tried was fantastic. Servers were friendly and made sure our waters were full the whole time. The owner came by a few times to make sure everything was good. The inside is practical and charming without being overwhelming. We have only come for the buffet, which runs at $20 a person. Completely reasonable given the amount of choice and how delicious the food is. We will definitely be back. read more

Walked in to place a to go order. There were empty tables, it wasn't super busy inside. They handed us one menu but there were two of us. I ordered chicken tikka masala and bhatura bread. The lady couldn't understand what I was saying and added a different bread. When we corrected her we thought she would remove the incorrect bread item from the order but instead we got charged for it. Didn't realize until we were home that she pulled one over on us. Bad business. Anywho, my fiance got lamb saag. He said mild spice level and it came out spicy as hell. So spicy there was no flavor to the green slop they served up for $18 +. The scary thing is he kept finding little bones in his food. He thought maybe they served him goat instead of lamb. Big Furthermore, we waited almost 45 minutes for our order when we were told 20. We had been to Green Chili once as a family, and then because I liked the food so much I decided o plan a dinner with my book club lady friends. Several of them had expressed interest in eating food, and some had never had it. It was a wonderful experience! From being very receptive when I was planning (and making reservations) for the dinner, setting up the party room for us, excellent service when we were there (prompt, respectful, helpful and friendly). And the food was fantastic. In particular we enjoyed the Biryani. Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb curry, Saag Paneer, the chaat appetizer and plus more! I love Indian food I've had it all over Ohio. I was craving Indian and I'm close by here. I ordered the buttered chicken, garlic naan along with lamb biryani. Butter chicken had way too much oil and the sauce split causing a lumpy sauce. The lamb biryani had some of the characteristics as a traditional lamb biryani but there was a few missing key ingredients. Flavor was there execution was not. read more

We have eaten here several times for both lunch and dinner. The lunch consists of a wonderful buffet containing soups, salads, multiple main courses , and desserts. We went to Green Chili's to check out the food under new management. they had special pricing for the lunch and dinner buffet. The staff was very friendly and courteous . We went at lunch time, restaurant had very few guests and buffet dishes appeared to be empty , but the staff assured us that they will bring more hot food out for us. As promised they served us with hot fish pakoras , nans , shrimp curry as we needed. Food was good and staff went out of way to accommodate our needs. All that said, there is room for improvement. First of all there are too many chicken dishes in addition to shrimp curry and lamb curry, this can be reduced to two chicken dishes and change the variety every two to three days. Also replace some of these dishes with some vegetarian options such as Idly, Dhokla, Medhu Vada and so on. Also little better Buffett presentation. I am sure the restaurant will do better with just a few changes , because the staff is hard working and has good attitude. read more
