I wouldn't return to this restaurant. My daughter requested to go to a Chinese buffet for her birthday a this was the closest one. Much of the food was lukewarm and was very mediocre. The orange chicken was mostly breading. The crab Rangoon was mostly cream cheese. The sweet and sour sauce was watered down. It's just not high quality food. The adult price was about $20. Our four year old ate for $5 and our eight year old for $11- so I appreciated the kids adjustment rate. It was full of people though, so I'm not sure if it's just not for me? The line at the crab legs was out of this world, but because everything was lukewarm I was skeptical about eating their seafood so I steered clear. My eight year old thought it was good. We will look for another Chinese buffet before returning back to this one! read more

The food was revolting all the chicken was hard and old tasted not right wouldn't be surprised if I got food poisoning then the bill came and it was 43$ for 2 food terrible over priced do better read more

Im not sure what the others are talking about saying this place is disgusting and the food is bad. My and my fiance came here today and had a blast! The staff was so kind and efficient. All our food was good, the music was soft and not too overbearing. Spend about 43 dollars for two adults and two drinks. read more

Haven't been here in quite awhile but happy to see that it's just as good as I remember!! Food is hot and kept well stocked. Great service, plates removed frequently and drinks refilled. Very pleasant lunch with my hubby! read more

Lots of bang for the buck For what you pay you get a lot for your money. Crab legs, shrimp their seafood options are really good and the wait staff clear your table quickly read more

I've always had great experiences here. Excellent Cninese selection and great value for the money.

Went in for lunch around 1:30 this place is huge and hardly anyone was there this should have told me something. There was no steam coming from any of the steam tables that keeps the food warm, I didn't even notice until I sat down to eat and it was all cold, everything, food at the wrong temperature can kill you or at least make you very sick, I have no desire to to pay to get sick there are to many good restaurants around that serve hot food to ever go back here they should be shut down before someone gets seriously ill read more

Really great buffet. Very clean, except for some reason the bathroom doesn't always seem so clean. During lunch you may feel a bit more rushed, as they are always pretty busy but this has never deterred me from wanting to go some enjoy their yummy food selection. My daughter always looks forward to their spicy shrimp and I'm always ready to get their bourbon chicken or orange chicken. You won't regret going!! Just remember.... Sundays are dinner prices all day and I always forget!! ‍ read more

Best crab Rangoon ever!! Loved the crab and pretty much everything else except the kimchi. Other than that 5 stars

Really good food. There's a huge selection which I absolutely loved. There was a few things I couldn't make room for and made me want to come back asap! read more

Good selection and was able to host 50 people for lunch in a private room. Great as quick to respond to needs of a large group with last minute planning. read more

Service was fast & the waitress was nice. But the food was very bland. Not gonna say horrible. But I will not be returning. The noodles didn't have any taste. And the general Tso's chicken looked like "grounded up" meat. read more

April 7, 2024 - Go for the crab legs and mussels and sample the rest... 12 of the 13 in our group did. One in our group ordered lemon chicken for dinner. It took forever! We had to ask for/order it again too. Once delivered, the lemon sauce was very bland! There is lots of parking. read more

Been going here for almost 20 years still the same the best Chinese buffet restaurant.

China Garden Buffet - The bar fully stocked hot good - Chinese Near Me - Dayton, Ohio

Okay, I like Chinese and all, but this place was one of the WORST ever! The food was lukewarm at best and that's being nice. The service was good. The atmosphere was typical of a Chinese restaurant. But the food was downright dreadful. I'd eat McDonald's before I'd ever set foot in this place again. Anyone who gave this place 5 stars has zero taste buds at all and should be banned from ever giving a food review for eternity. If this was the last restaurant on earth and I needed just one bite to survive, I'd keep crawling till I finally gave up my spirit and join my ancestors. read more

If the food was warmer and the restaurant was cleaner, then I would give this place 3 stars. My husband and I wanted to like the restaurant because the customer service was awesome but the food was cold. The chicken, shrimp, broccoli, noodles, and the egg rolls were cold. Not lukewarm, cold. In addition to that, there were dirty cleaning rags at every good station. It was not a pleasant sight. Unfortunately, we will not be back. read more

The food was horrible, service was lacking and the ambiance was that of a city dump, and way over priced! I only gave this place one star because 0 was not an option! I think they add salt to the soy sauce! Absolutely the worst place in the US! read more

Nice and clean in the dining area. The server checked on us for refills l. There was a huge selection to choose from. Everything was fresh and hot. I like how they have plastic gloves to use for sanitation purposes. I would go again and recommend to my family and friends. read more

made it through the whole buffet within my lunch break, it was lowkey mid with some pretty bland food. when I got some lo mein it like literally felt like I was eating plain spaghetti but if you're into that I don't think you would complain. Loved their sushi and had decent lunch options. 11.75 a person when I went in read more

Go for the lunch buffet! It's only $7.99 and it's HUGE. I don't think they change a thing for dinner, but it's three times the price. There are five long buffets, four of which are double-sided. One of them features some American food options, which I didn't bother trying. My personal favorites of what I tried (I I really did put a bit of EVERYTHING on my plate) was the Chinese Fried Chicken, the pork dumplings and the angel hair noodles. Each of these had SO MUCH FLAVOR. So yes, I went back for more of each. My two year old was mostly interested in the fruit from the dessert bar (grapes and cantaloupe) and some fried rice. Not to mention the soft serve ice cream. I'm never crazy about desserts at Asian buffets, so the soft serve and cakes really didn't do anything for me. I did try their egg custard tarts, but didn't like them. They had more of a cake consistency than a custard consistency and it wasn't very sweet. The great price, the huge selection and the delicious food will definitely make this a regular place for us. read more

I'm not a huge fan of buffet's (strike 1) so when my cousin told me he was taking me here for lunch, I was a bit reserved. The buffet is located across the street from Wright Patterson AFB and inside a strip mall (strip mall = strike 2). Walking in, the place was dark (strike 3?) but it didn't have that stale smell of old food like most buffet's do. In fact, the place was super clean and jam packed with folks. I was impressed by the assortment of food items available. Things like steamed mussels, sushi, lumpia and king crab legs seemed to be standards on their menu. The food was excellent. It was flavorful, plentiful and was presented well. When an item got low, they were quick to re-fill or replenish the items. And even though I don't eat desert, the items they had looked darn good. They had three different types of ice cream with all the toppings and sprinkles imaginable and several types of pastries that looked like they we're home made. It was a great bang for buck. Thanks for the hook Cuz. read more

Absolutely amazing buffet. Have not had a good buffet in so long def worth it. Edit if you like seafood.

As usual, China Garden Buffet did not disappoint. Selection was fantastic and the taste was very good. It had several years since I last visited but it was still truly enjoyable. It is by far the best buffet in the Dayton area. I definitely will be returning in the near future. Try it, you will like it!!!! read more

Been coming here for years. Unfortunately food has gone downhill a little. All the favorites just aren't the same. Sweet potato balls are greasy, beef with onions and green peppers has a strange flavor and beef is often tough. Crispy chicken wings are often way over cooked and almost burnt, same for the chicken skewers. Other chicken dishes appear to be using a different cut. I hope the decline is temporary and due to the pandemic and that things improve soon. I'd like to continue to keep this buffet on my list. read more

Do not eat here ever. Food was below average, everything was cold. When they finally brought out crab legs, they had obviously been sitting in kitchen for hours. Couldn't even eat them-overcooked to death. How you can have cold legs sitting in hot water is a feat I never thought possible. I dont expect high cuisine at a buffet, but this crap was a complete waste of raw ingredients. But hey, at least it's expensive. read more

I fought with the score for this one.. on one hand, it's a buffet and isn't meant to be like a high end or 5 star experience.. on the other hand, they do an excellent job and the food is very good. I went on a weekday for lunch and the place was pretty packed and had a steady flow of customers. Standard interior, but it was clean and the server I had was great. This guy was running around nonstop and made sure everyone in my section was taken care of. The food was really solid as well. Nothing was amazing, but everything was solid. The chicken teriyaki both by itself and on a skewer, mushroom chicken, and Kung pao were excellent. I tried a plethora of options and none were bad. The also have Pepsi products btw. I was going to give a 3.. the food itself is a strong 3-3.5.. the service made me bump it to a 4. I'll be back! read more

The food is cheap and the taste is great. The reason for the 4 stars is because the restaurant could be a little cleaner.

Starving. In Dayton, not knowing where to go. Yelp app to the rescue! I almost went to other places nearby with better reviews, and will someday when I'm not as hungry, but I was happy with this. It's a pretty typical Chinese buffet, and you'll recognize most of the dishes. All were competently done. Veggies were fresh. Service was excellent- plates were removed and glasses refilled almost immediately, and the staff was friendly. read more

China Garden Buffet - the front of the restaurant - Chinese Near Me - Dayton, Ohio

First time going there and it was not good at all. A 3 year old cost as much as a grown adult and there are barely any options for them to even eat. Too expensive even for just adults. The options aren't there and the food is definitely used from the previous day and heated up. Chicken way very chewy, had to spit out a few times. Doesn't taste right. Way better places out there. Don't recommend. Terrible. read more
