Bright Moon has been my go-to buffet. I've tried other Chinese buffets but they haven't topped BMB for me.  The staff are very attentive and friendly. It can be a bit awkward when you're there when it first opens because you're one of the few people there, so they watch you from a  distance. I appreciate how they're on top of everything and always refill my drink and take my plates away. The food is the typical Chinese comfort food. They have buns, dumplings, chicken, beef, fish, salad bar, sushi bar, desserts, soups, and some American food. The few times I've visited BMB, I've seen them have crab legs, crawfish, and one time a nearly whole fish of fried tilapia. Since I come in when they first open, the food is always hot, tasty, and such eye candy that I tend to eat more with my eyes than my stomach, lol. The dessert cakes are light and a nice sweet treat to end your buffet meal. The sushi bar has different sushi and tempura rolls on display and plates of Kimchi, crawfish, and other dessert (cookies, ice cream) and sushi options on each end of the bar. Compared to other restaurants these days, the price is reasonable. In addition, the atmosphere is very calm for a nice meal. I always enjoy my time coming here and highly recommend it! read more

One star is more than they deserve. Customer service is absolutely non-existent. We were one of five tables in the entire place. Incorrect drinks brought to table. When we advised him we still had no lemonade he became aggitated. No apology, just walked away. Ten minutes later brought a lemonade. Refilled water but never any ice second and third request.... Bathroom at local gas station would be cleaner. Opted to wait! Woman at hostess station was on her phone when we walked in and still on phone when we left. They had a kitchen fire about a year ago, and they finally re-opened! The buffet bar is awesome! Everything was bright and lively, which was way more than I expected having gone to some other chinese buffets. The food keeps getting refreshed and refilled quickly. Holy macaroni. My fiancé and I had supper there last night and, all we can say is WOW! The food was fresh, well seasoned, and our server made sure we had drinks and a clear table. We are still going on about how good it was, even today. We have traveled all over the country eating Chinese food and this has to be one of the best, if not THEE BEST. Almost $50 for two people? What a rip off. I guess they really hike the price for Christmas Eve. First off all, not a single entree dish was replenished while we were there. The food looked like it had been sitting for hours. The General Tso chicken was sitting in a pool of liquid sauce (the few pieces left). The greenbeans looked old. The service was outstanding ..I couldn't slide my plate away fast enough and they took it off the table mid slide...I would call that talented eagle eyes there! Now the food.... Over priced and not very good. The crab legs were meatless... The spring rolls under cooked and actually cold inside... The fried shrimp was so over fried I could barely chew it... Got lunch around 2p on a Sunday. The price is $18 for weekend dinner (less M-Th) Honestly, shocked this isn't more highly rated. They had crab legs, steak, frog legs, sushi, steam buns and gyoza, the whole 9 yards. The steak was tender, the sushi didn't make me ill, and they have plenty of options for picky eaters (chicken nuggets, fries, etc.) Everything was clean and service was good. Do not waste your money here. This used to be a good buffet but went downhill over the years. It closed during the pandemic and just reopened maybe a month ago in August 2021. We stopped in today at lunch time hoping it had new owners and was remodeled as we have been seeing workers working on the place. It still smells the same when you first walk in. It still has the same nasty carpet, it hasn't even been shampooed. They removed the wallpaper that was falling apart and painted it with lime green value budget paint. Everything else is still the same. The food. Yikes. My wife couldn't find one thing she could stomach and she used to love eating here when she worked at GE/Synchrony. They use the worst quality meats, the bbq sauce on the scary looking ribs tasted like medicine. Honey chicken and general tso were hard and cold. Spring rolls tasted fishy and barely had filling. The avocado cream cheese roll was good but it's hard to mess up vegetarian sushi. I tried my best to eat my money's worth ($25 for lunch!!), but still left hungry. The atmosphere was not great either with 4 staff members standing around the food bars talking loud as possible in their language the entire time we were there. It was really annoying. 30 minutes later I'm filled with regret as I sit in the Lowes parking lot waiting for my wife to shop as I try to not shart my pants. I will never eat here again. Don't let the outside fool you, the inside has a nice atmosphere. My boyfriend and I have been looking for a good chinese buffet in the Dayton, Ohio area for quite some time. We thought we found a decent one and would keep going back to that one...until now. This China Buffet would have to be the best chinese buffet I have ever been to. There is a great deal of variety. Everything that I had was very flavorful. They have soup, sushi, hibachi, crab legs for dinner, and of course all the classic chinese fare with some new ones I have never had before. The service was excellent. It was dinner rush and they still would fill our drinks after every few sips we would take. The most impressive thing was every waitress knew our drink order and everyone was filling up drinks correctly every time. Overall, we have found our chinese buffet in the Dayton, Ohio area. I was glad to see this buffet open under new management. I really like the salad bar but there's not much lettuce and they slice it in long pieces like what should be on a sub sandwich. They do have a lot of good options to put on your salad. The hot and sour soup is good. Some of the food is not very hot but theres a good variety. There's a lot to choose from on the dessert bar but a lot of it IMHO isn't very edible. The food is not the best quality and I think it's priced too high. The most annoying thing is that their employees talk and yell all the time. One employee was watching a video and it was turned up very loud so the dining room was forced to listen to it. I usually don't let things like that bother me but it was hard to ignore. If you visit here, I recommend asking to be seated in the dining room on the right of the entry. Let's be honest, Chinese Buffets aren't a "5 Star Restaurant" in the standard since of the term. However, for a Chinese buffet this one is 5-Star. The food is fresh and hot (the steam was even fogging the glass because it was humid yesterday and I was joking with the manager that it was making it difficult to see the food...he noted that they noticed the review that the food was too cold and increased the temperature). The staff is super friendly, they keep your drink full, and they keep the used plates cleared off your table. They have a good variety of items, excellent lo-mein for a Chinese Buffet! I also loved the Beef with Broccoli, Bourbon Chicken, Garlic Chicken, Egg Drop Soup, and Green Beans...can you tell I don't eat spicy stuff? My husband tried all the spicy stuff and chicken wings and like it as well. As for the complaints below about sushi...I ask myself, why would anyone expect good sushi at a Chinese Buffet???? You don't go there for celebrity-chef quality sushi or even food for that matter...you go there because a variety of decent to good Chinese food in mass quantity strikes your fancy, because you are a hung-over college student who partied too much, or a soccer mom with 6 kids under 12 to feed after the game. Yes it looks pretty homely on the outside, and the inside is not much better. Who cares? What really matters is the food. Like any Chinese buffet, be there during peak hours if you want hot, fresh food. The offerings are the usual fare, but quality is slightly better than average in the area. If you like crab legs, prepare to engage in hand to hand combat at times. People seem to think it is kosher to take the whole pan when they bring it out. They seem to keep up with demand a lot better than most Asian buffets, and have a decent hibachi. Don't come here looking to eat sushi, it is the usual pre-made stuff that sits a while. After reading all the reviews on this page I feel giving this a 5-star is fair seeing as how so many individuals feel like they are justified giving it a 1-star so easily. I've been going here with my dad and family for the past 2 years, Chinese buffets are a traditional to us as lame as that sounds. Thus my family have been to about 4 Chinese buffets locally before we hit this one. As one of the last Chinese buffets standing in the area I absolutely love this place. The food is consistent in flavor. The steamed buns are surprising delicious and delicate they legitimately make you feel like you went to a china town in the big city and visited a local bakery. My roommates and I decided to treat ourselves last week and a $9.99 dinner buffet was hard to turn down. As we pull up to China Buffet, we are reminded that we're in Dayton, Ohio. Four cars in the parking lot and a sign that looks like it was picked out of a dumpster. After immediately being seated, we glance around to acknowledge the crowd who did not speak the entire time we were there. Silenced. Was it because the food paralyzed their mouth? Was it because they were actors hired to look like the place was still in business? Not sure. Regarding the decorations, they were superb; kinda reminded me of an old-time adult film location. The buffet had a wide variety of food. What kind of food? We're not sure but we went up three separate times and filled our plates to the top. The service was fantastic. Our waitress stood 6 inches behind us the entire time and the moment you took a sip of water, she filled it right back up. She was very happy and giggled a little too much, giving me the impression that she was being trafficked and needed help. The last plate put us over the edge and we began thinking about what we actually ate and where we actually were. China. Buffet. Thirty seconds after pulling into our driveway, 2 roommates puked and the other 2 had a stream of fire coming out their ass.
