I stopped by after getting my haircut. Today was only their second day open. The service was very good. They have a traditional Asian menu with lunch specials and combo deals. I ordered the Mongolian Steak and an egg roll. Both were VERY GOOD! I was very impressed with the quality of service, value and the food is amazing! Lord I wish I would of checked yelp before ordering on doordash. I had high hopes due to the doordash ratings but clearly I was mistaken. This was probably the worst chinese food I've had. I ordered the generals chicken, pork fried rice and the crab/cream cheese puffs. I ate literally 1 piece of the chicken and placed the rest into the fridge but knew I should of just threw it out. The chicken was hard and not fresh, the sauce was stomach churning. The cream puffs were not flavorful and lukewarm. The rice might of been the best thing and even that was meh. Happy Wok? More like the Sad Wok! Pretty awful Chinese food. I ordered them through Uber Eats and when it arrived, my Egg Roll was chewy and not fully cooked all the way through. I dont know how old the other reviews are but on 7/25/2021 Happy Great Wok were on point even though I got 6 spring rolls instead of 3 eggrolls . I've never been a fan of spring rolls from your average Chinese food spot. But I will say that General Tso's was Classic . Shrimp Lo Mein had good flavor with decent quality noodles and the baby shrimp was rinsed well for mild flavor . Veg. Fried rice was average , crab rangoon were better than average w/ a nice crispy wonton wrapper that is similar to an eggroll wrap. I would have like to review the boneless spare ribs but we didnt get them this time . I'm not sure what people are expecting to get from a restaurant that trying to serve decent food at affordable prices . Also , I have decades of trying Chinese/American food from all of southwestern Ohio and Great Happy Wok deserve more credit and too perfectly honest I will probably order here again on a Sunday because my usual spot is closed on this day . Even my go-to spot isn't always as good as other days but keep in mind that humans are imperfect and capable of great things. No. Just no. I thought I'd try even though some if not all the reviews said don't eat here..... I was not any luckier than the others. Where do I even begin????? Well here we go I guess. The "beef on stick" tasted like a 7 day old leather boot- wasn't chewable even -and no flavor. I gummed the one bite I got off the stick. The pork fried rice was high yellow rice with some rando pork chopped into but obviously not cooked together was like it was straight salt. We could re name it yellow salt and that would be a more accurate name. The general Tso chicken was hard- like old, old and retried hard, not just over cooked. the tso sauce had absolutely 0 flavor- I'm white and I thought that shit was old cardboard it was so flavorless , 0 spice, 0 pizzazz , shit was worse than Scandinavian grannies cooking . And the crab Rangoon was mushy outer crust with lack luster cream cheese filling. I have Never in my life had Chinese food this bad. And I came from Maine where Chinese food is better and that's an utter and complete disappointment. read more

Wow this place is terrible! I will start with the lobby first then get to the food. The lobby is less than 6ft by 6ft and in the state of Ohio, you can not allow multiple people to just stand in this space. It is literally against the law & in my opinion just gross. The egg drop soup we got tasted like over cooked egg water. It was awful. The hot & sour soup tasted metallic. We also got a chicken pad tai. I am not sure how they do it but it has no flavor. Worst Chinese food in Ohio, maybe in North America. We ordered Katsu chicken, vegetables in garlic sauce, shrimp lo mein and wontons. None of the food was recognizable. The Katsu chicken had been fried on some previous day, sliced, and reheated in the microwave. Customers must not order it very often and they had some that needed to be used up because they gave us 2 heaping containers of chicken strips so greasy they could have been used to lube a car and so tough we couldn't bite through them and couldn't cut them with our sharpest steak knives. On the other hand, our dog loved them. She likes chewies. The wontons were blobs of gray filling coated in what looked like cornmeal crumbs and deep fried, also not fresh and so greasy they leaked through the wax bag and ruined the napkins, and obviously reheated in a microwave. Don't they have wonton wrappers? They were all stuck together in a wad and had to be pulled apart. Our dog loved those, too. The vegetables in garlic sauce were straight out of a freezer, like Birdseye Frozen Asian MIx, mushy and flavorless. They didn't even taste like vegetables and there was no garlic in the standard brown sauce that coated them. Strangely, they gave us 2 extra containers of brown sauce and a small container of a fruit jelly, along with 18 packets of duck sauce. The shrimp lo mein was a bowl of noodles with a dozen baby shrimp, no sauce and no flavor. My husband and I have eaten bad Chinese food all over the world, but this was the worst of the worst. Wish I could give 0 stars. This place is junk! The shrimp egg rolls and crab rangoons both were chewy, rubbery and greasy. The hot and sour soup was not hot and was like drinking oil. Then the "two main lobsters in ginger scallion sauce" was 6 little tails drenched in a gel that you had to scour through to try to get meat that was maybe a tablespoon total and nothing but salt taste read more

I gave 3 stars because we have had food from here multiple times and it was fantastic! This time, May 2, 2022, it was not the same. Crab Rangoon was okay but still not as creamy. General Tso's chicken was a huge disappointment. Soggy breading, hardly any sauce with flavor and no veggies. Door Dash is equally responsible. Never got a notification that someone was bringing my food. Called Happy Great wok and was upset as I had already waited an hour. Told them to cancel my order and hung up . Food arrived 10 minutes later, not warm, no sauce and no spicy flavor.. They say it is one of their spicy entrees. 4 pieces of broccoli. Great little Chinese restaurant! You walk in expecting fast food but get surprised by the restuarant quality of flavor!

We recently got their menu in the mail and decided to give them a try. We regularly get carryout Chinese food and had been loyal customers to another restaurant. This place is in another league compared to every other Chinese restaurant we've ever been to. The rice is perfect--sticky but fresh and tasty, and the entrees are like nothing you've ever seen. I'm a big fan of General Tso's chicken, and while most menus label it as spicy, this was the first time it has actually been so! It wasn't just sauce and breaded chicken either; the scallions and other spices were actually in there, and it was delicious. Did I mention that this restaurant actually includes vegetables with it? I would rate this even higher than a certain Asian fusion restaurant known for their spiciness numbers. My wife's chicken with broccoli was similarly out of this world. And unlike most restaurants in this genre, the restaurant was well-decorated, the staff was friendly, and they seemed genuinely grateful for your business.
