The spicy aga tofu is the best I have ever had (and trust me I have had many). Mountain roll was amazing. Mixture of crunch, rice, fresh salmon and crab. The different flavours and textures make it a great eat. Restaurant is clean and well set out. Service was great. Food came out in a flash. They have hand sanitizer at the door entrance, on the table, separated seating, and our server wore a mask and gloves. They did everything they could to help to try and keep us safe! They have such a wide variety of options on the menu that they too have transformed into a hard copy that they can easily wipe down. They also have a picture book that they give you, so that you can see the items before you order them! It was very helpful. They have options galore, they have things you only see in LA like sushi burritos, but then also fan favourites like all the common rolls. We got the daily special that was $20, per person. And with that you got to choose from a variety of specialty rolls, a salad and also a starter. We were so pleased to have the selection. We also thought we could get the prawn tempura because it's just better in person than takeout. And they did not let us down, they were fresh, and big prawns. A few days ago we had ordered a large plate of tempura for over $17. This was a mixture of fish, calamari and our favorite - the vegetable tempura. It's almost embarrassing how they slice the already super-thin piece of a potato into tiny pieces. So instead of having a nice large piece of a yam or potato tempura, you get four tiny potato tempuras. How cheap can you get? The batter didn't want to stick on one side while the other side was globbed up with thick crusty and messy dough. When we picked it up it was feather-light. What are we paying for here?

They had a few issues in their food. The tamago nigiri was tasty enough, and I've never had to say this before, but there wasn't enough rice! The tamago flopped over on all sides, and needed more rice as a texture and flavor break. The Unagi bowl itself was okay, good amount of rice and veggies for the cost, but the eel itself was slimy and rubbery. I know from experience this isn't what it is supposed to be like. The inside is cute, it's a shame everything was put away for COVID, but it's also a shame they aren't following COVID rules either. Two customers without masks, whom the employees were quite familiar and friendly with, which didn't exactly improve my overall review of the restaurant.
