Absolutely disgusting! Do not go to this restaurant. I just finished reporting them to Fraser health. My daughter and I were finishing up our meal, when we looked up and saw one of the chefs brushing his teeth vigourously over the raw fish cooler! It went on for a solid 2 mins. The other staff member was picking his teeth and wiping something on his apron. When they saw my daughter and I staring at them in shock, they ran to the back and didn't come back out. When I brought this up to our server and voiced how gross that is, she said "oh yeah he was brushing his teeth, sorry ma'am, do you need a machine?" I paid my bill and told them that I would be calling it in and reporting it immediately. Disgusting! read more

Our family had the All you Can Eat Premium for dinner tonight and were pleasantly surprised with the food and service. The sashimi was quite good but unfortunately only limited to 15 pcs per person. For $28.95 you would expect it to be truly all you can eat with more selection. My 4 yr old really enjoyed the yakisoba and prawn tempura. The tempura and gomae is done really well. All you can eat... sort of. The $29 price for the premium all you can eat gives you access to sashimi, but you're limited to 15 pieces. The rolls are simple, and the few more exciting rolls (which are pretty standard and not exciting at all) cost an additional $1 each. Portions are ok, not too big or too small, and they don't pack rolls with tons of rice which is good. They could probably do with being a little more generous with the fillings though. They are very serious about charging you if you don't eat it all. $1 per piece, which is standard and understandable. Just be careful- they charge you if you don't eat all the rice too. Service is very friendly and the restaurant is nice and clean. Overall, this place is overpriced and doesn't have much variety on their all you can eat menu. I hate to give such a poor review, but I consider myself a vegan sushi regular who has had a poor experience here. The good: views, atmosphere, music, staff. The rest: I am glad I don't eat fish because it would be unsafe given the heat of the rice. This is sushi. It's supposed to be cold. No. The sonomono salad was just awful, and too expensive for the paltry glob of starchy rice noodles one is served. No. The sushi was fair until you factor in just how warm it all was. It wasn't sticky rice. It was really poorly filled and rolled, and no sushi flavour at all. The inari was also too warm and tasted like wasabi. I have to wonder about the handling and preparation as the wasabi was nowhere near the rolls. Sorry. I hate doing this. Positively not recommended. Two stars for the non food aspects. read more

This place is decent. Its kind of crazy though when you come in for good food but then you're hit with strict rules. I guess those rules are necessary, but how do you charge $1 for any uneaten rice? Is it by the grain or by the cup? I didn't want to find out, so I ate every last grain of rice. So much for eating low carb. We had the dinner menu and for $5 extra your dinner can include sashimi and nigiri. Okay then. What I liked about the sashimi was that it was cut into normal, medium sized pieces- not the tiny, poke bowl bite sized baby pieces of sashimi served at most AYCE Japanese restaurants in Abbotsford. At Sushi Wa each person gets a total of 15 pieces of sashimi/nigiri and that is fair. The restaurant itself is nice and it has a nice view of the mountains. The bathroom was clean too. If I ever come through Chilliwack again, I might eat here again. read more

My wife and 2 daughters and I went here the other day and it will be our last time going. All you can eat... yes but. ... The sushi... was ok. The tempura was...good Server ...friendly Restaurant. .. was decent Rules.... many lol The waitress warned us 3 times that if we didn't eat the sushi we would be charged extra for leftovers . This is before we even ordered. We felt guilty even though we ordered the perfect amount for our family. The cook held back our favorite sushi and said we had to finish what we ordered first. We didn't order that much. The same as every other place we go. Strange. I felt like a 5 year old eating at a cheap uncles house lol. They charged an extra $ 5 for my 4 year old that eats next to nothing.. I don't really care about that much but it was just a very negative experience in total. I'm sure the all you can eat sushi is not a very lucrative business that is why the uncomfortable, awkward moments and treating us like bad children. So. I go out for sushi tonight and we order some sunomo. I saw the waitress handle money and then continue making the sunomo. She picked up the lemons or cucumbers and place them in the sunomo without washing her hands. Needless to say I thought it was a little gross. I went to talk to her about it and she laughed. I told her we didn't want them. She explained this to (who I assume to be the boss) he asked me who was going to pay for them. I asked if he was serious and yes he felt we should pay for them. I declined paid our bill and told him we would not be back. And that I think I will post it on Facebook to warn others. He replied with telling me I was not welcome back and please do post it. Brought my daughter here today for All you can eat sushi. The service was very good. They have rules for the all you can eat, which are pretty common sense! Was presented with 2 sheets, one was $14.95. If you wanted to order from the second, it upped the price to $19.95. Of course the second had the sushi and sashimi on it. My daughter is 7 months pregnant, so she can't eat the raw stuff anyways, so I decided against it, even though I was told that I could order off of it and just pay the 1 extra charge. Not too many items on the ayce $14.95 menu, soup, Sunomono, edamame, rolls and teriyaki. Special rolls are extra. I feel the sign should say All you can eat (with some exceptions) oh ya, one hour limit on the $14.95 menu, 1.5 hour limit on the $19.95 menu. read more

The food and quality is great. The only thing I have to complaint about is the rules they have for the buffet. They are really strict, I tried to bring a child that wasn't going to eat and they were going to charge me for her even though she wasn't eating. She doesn't like sushi. In the end they ended up not charging her for me, and I understand that if they make the exception. For me they have to make it for everyone, but they could have been a little less rude about it. read more

First time at this place and we had the all you can eat option. The sushi was really good and the portions are huge compared to all the other all you can eat sushi places I've tried in Vancouver and Richmond. The ingredients used were nice and fresh and they don't cheap out on the sushi filling. The rice on the outer of the rolls were nice and thin so you're not getting full off rice alone and they stuff the rolls up with ingredients. I would definitely come back. read more

Disgusting...apparently food safety isn't their priority. Didn't wash hands between tasks (handling money & then immediately touching and serving food after). Horrible customer service..forcing customers to pay for food that was handled after touching said money because they refused to eat it....Will NEVER ever go here! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! read more
