They had a few issues in their food. The tamago nigiri was tasty enough, and I've never had to say this before, but there wasn't enough rice! The tamago flopped over on all sides, and needed more rice as a texture and flavor break. The Unagi bowl itself was okay, good amount of rice and veggies for the cost, but the eel itself was slimy and rubbery. I know from experience this isn't what it is supposed to be like. The inside is cute, it's a shame everything was put away for COVID, but it's also a shame they aren't following COVID rules either. Two customers without masks, whom the employees were quite familiar and friendly with, which didn't exactly improve my overall review of the restaurant.

They can be as busy place, and had no seating for dining in since Covid, just takeout, but they have put some tables and chairs back into the restaurant. All round good food, will always come back.

Extremely disappointing experience -- not family-friendly…read more We went out for dinner tonight as a family and were very disappointed by the way we were treated by one of the staff members. We had our young toddler with us, who was having a particularly challenging evening. Like most toddlers, he was reaching for things on the table and at one point grabbed a plastic miso spoon and banged it against a plastic cup. This lasted approximately 5-6 seconds before we were able to take it away from him. We were right there the entire time and were actively trying to manage him. The woman working at the till, who had been staring at our table for much of the meal, then came over and angrily reprimanded us, telling us to "be careful with everything" and to "control the baby." We understand that restaurants need customers to respect their property, and we were absolutely doing our best to keep our child from disrupting anything. But approaching paying customers in an angry and condescending manner over something so minor was completely unnecessary. Having a toddler who is having a difficult moment is stressful enough without a staff member publicly embarrassing and reprimanding the parents. There are much more respectful ways to address a concern with a customer. We were spending over $100 on dinner and simply wanted to enjoy a family meal. Instead, we left feeling embarrassed and unwelcome. What was particularly disappointing was that we were already dealing with the situation ourselves and didn't need someone standing over us and telling us how to parent our child. Unfortunately, this interaction completely changed our impression of the restaurant. We won't be returning, and we would not recommend this establishment to families with young children.

A few days ago we had ordered a large plate of tempura for over $17. This was a mixture of fish, calamari and our favorite - the vegetable tempura. It's almost embarrassing how they slice the already super-thin piece of a potato into tiny pieces. So instead of having a nice large piece of a yam or potato tempura, you get four tiny potato tempuras. How cheap can you get? The batter didn't want to stick on one side while the other side was globbed up with thick crusty and messy dough. When we picked it up it was feather-light. What are we paying for here?

Despite how busy it was when I came to eat and the waiter pointing out the extended time for the food, the service was really great and I did not find myself waiting long at all. I had the Tuna Avocado Roll which was fantastic with how fresh and tasty the contents were. I even thought the miso soup was exceptionally great, and even finished the cup with my meal. I also had the Unagi Donburi for my main course, and it was perfection. The unagi meat was piquant and succulent, the rice was great, and I even like the mango pieces it came with. The service was very considerate, especially during the busy haul. The waiter served me whenever I needed it and even replaced my chopsticks when I dropped one of them. The interior design of the restaurant is memorable; it had blossoms hung up and TVs playing Jpop music videos. I highly recommend Kojan for the great Sushi and Korean food.

I ordered the Gyu Donburi and a side order of the Saba Sushi Roll. The donburi was magnificent; it tasted appropriately sweet, the rice was moist and the beef was flavourful. The interior design was nice, although it looked like it was something else before it became a Japanese restaurant. I very much liked Little Japan and will come back again.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE TODAY!…read more I went there for lunch, initially with low expectations but hoping the food and experience was good...and boy was I disappointed. When I ordered my food, the waiter came out with a completely different meal and would NOT offer to bring the meal back and get me my correct meal. The meal was not even remotely close to what I ordered and instead, he said "oh, but this meal is a dollar cheaper...." as if the price is what I was most concerned with? After I was forced to keep my meal at the end of my experience I asked him to box up the remaining half of my meal and he said okay. He came back over with the bills, and I asked him if he was going to bring my food back in a box and he literally told me he threw it out!! He threw out HALF MY MEAL! After this he did not offer to reimburse me, he did not offer to correct it, he offered NO HELP OR SUPPORT. I even called the restaurant later in the day to speak to a manager about it and the female manager said this was the first she was hearing of the experience....meaning he hid this from her. After speaking to the manager she did not offer to correct this horrible experience either. Absolute worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant in my life.
