We were on our way home and decided to stop by this restaurant for dinner. We were seated right away. Menus and water were dropped off. We decided to order a number of items to try. Food arrived very quickly. My child ate all the gyoza so it must have tasted alright. The crunch double scallop roll was quite tasty. It was loaded with fried scallops. The roll itself had scallops, crab meat, avocado and cucumber. The assorted sashimi was fresh and had a good variety. The aburi nigiri were also made well and were nicely torched. Portion size was good for the price. Overall, it was a good dining experience.

Roll combo (California roll, dynamite roll, spicy tuna roll)

Kojan sushi is my go to in Abbotsford. I've never had a bad experience, always speedy service and really nice staff. I've eaten in and got takeout and both are excellent quality. The portions are pretty large which is nice, and the prices are wallet friendly. The restaurant itself is always clean and lots of seating, never had to wait for a table. They are also right next to jubilee park, so I've gotten take out and sat at the park, which great for a nice summer day.

We go out a lot to eat Japanese food. We came here three weeks ago and really enjoyed the food and service. I liked how the rolls were bigger than the standard sized ones served at other places. Since good sushi is hard to find in Abbotsford, Kojan was the place for us. However. . . All of that changed a couple days ago when me and hubster came here for dinner. The booths were all taken but there were several small tables and two large tables available. We were told all of those tables were "reserved" and we could wait 20 minutes or order take out. Um. . .NO. We went somewhere else for dinner. An hour and half later we drove by Kojan and those reserved tables were still EMPTY. We enjoy good food but good service is important too. Im not sure what was really going on but it shouldn't have been a big deal to seat two people. Like I said, those "reserved" tables were empty when we got there and they were still empty long after we dined somewhere else. Shady. Huge turn off. Not coming back.

I'm not usually one much for special rolls but my partner shared his volcano roll with me and I really enjoyed it. The service was great! Our server checked on us throughout the meal but wasn't overbearing. When we requested extra wasabi and ginger she brought it right away. There was a delay between my partner receiving the items he ordered and when I received mine. We didn't say anything about it but when they brought us our bill they had given us a discount which we appreciated. We will definitely be back!

Not really knowing what to find in Abbotsford and staying at the Sandman Hotel and Suites, I…read moregoogled "restaurants" near here... to my surprise a sushi restaurant showed up... to my surprise it garnered 3.9 stars... to my surprise it only had two reviews and just a few photo's... to my surprise Yelp is not a big thing in Abbottsford Canada... since there are few reviews on most sites and little or no photos on those sites... so going here was a stretch for me... but the distance made the gamble worth the chance... to be quite honest my experience for Canadian food hasn't been the greatest... Overall the places I've been to have been with a tour group on the East coast and most were 3 stars or lower... I compared that to Costco food... the first thing I was going to do is take more pictures and take the picture of the menu, for others like myself to take a look at what's available to eat... and hope for the best... I was not expecting the place to be run by Japanese speaking owners and staff! Call me racist (even though I am Japanese) but most places in SoCal are run by other Nationalities and the cooks are not Japanese either... so even hearing Japanese from Japanese was awesome... The first thing the waitress brought was hot tea... how many Japanese places serve you hot tea before ordering? Impressed... then I looked on the menu and there were bento boxes... nice... it all sounded delicious... but there were no pics to back that up... so we just had to wait... I got the Beef Bento Box and Nancy got the Chicken Bento Box dinner... first up the Miso soup... nice... little pieces of tofu and gobo... just like I like... and served hot... 8/10... then something new... points for new... sunomono cucumber soba noodle dish... tasted like typical cucumber dishes like we get at Matsu's, Huntington Beach, CA but this was a few slices of fresh cucumbers and carrots and soba noodles... refreshing and new... 7/10 but bumped it to 8/10 because I never had it before and will look forward to getting it again... Next the main course... massive and easily could have split it... it came with salad, excellant just like Kabuki, HB salad, 9/10 freshly made with the house dressing... chicken karage, 9.5/10, perfect fry, crunchy outside and moist inside... came hot... shrimp tempura and vegetables... 10/10... one of the best shrimp tempura ever... no joke... at least in my book, maybe it was because I set the food bar so low it had to go up... they also added an onion ring and squash with the sweet potato... the Dynamite Roll... another name was a Crunchy Roll... 10/10... it was a California Roll with a fried shrimp in between... normally that would be a California Roll if any... and it came as a whole roll! Finally, the Beef Teriyaki on top of a bed of stir fry veggies... the beef was good... I prefer beef steak like Kabuki's... but I was not expecting that here... 7.5/10... the stir fry veggies underneath a surprise 8/10, delicious finally chopped broccolli, cabbage, onions, and carrots so small it was really good... everything on Nancy's plate was the same but the Teriyaki Chicken... 9.5/10... perfect... she mentioned it was some of the best tasting Teriyaki chicken she's tasted... Hahahaha, I'm sure I have Canada's record for the longest review that nobody will read ever... and the most single pics on a website in Abbotsford ever... Oh well... hoping this business thrives up here... if not they can come to my neck of the woods and get a lot of love from a lot of Yelper's! It's under new ownership... Blessings to you guys, YOU ROCK! Sad to say most of my pictures never showed up on the Yelp site... non or the menu shots and only one food shot showed up... hmmmmm... and I already deleted my photos from my phone... guess I'll have to return... for that I'm happy for.

This place is $25.99 for lunch. Their tempura was nicely battered and came hot. I like that their chicken karage is chicken wings. Their sushi is overly pressed where it looks like a good rice to fish ratio but when you bite in, you'll know that it is a dense slab of rice. Their cones also had way too much rice. I was surprised to see sashimi with a limit of 4 pieces per person but it came as tiny cubes. The gyoza filling was minimal - almost like biting into a pocket of air. Miso soup didnt have much dashi seasoning. For 25.99, I expected a little better quality. Fortunately if you pay in cash, it is 10% off.

The dinner bento box was OK - the tempura was probably the most descant thing in the box. The beef was tough and cold. The pork and kimchi soup were such a disappointment. This is one of my favourite Korean dishes and I've eaten this in Korea and in many places in BC. Unfortunately, this was an unappetizing and unpleasant dish. I say this because dish was packed with kimchi and pork fat, no meat. If you are serving pork fat instead of meat, just indicate it on the menu. But please don't fool your customers and charge about $20 for this dish. Also, the main ingredient in kimchi so you might want to rename your dish to "kimchi and pork fat soup". At least this would mean that you are transparent and honest about what you are serving. I was so unhappy but I don't like to waste food, so I took out all the disgusting fat, put them aside and ate the tofu and kimchi. This dish also does not come with a side of rice, I've never experienced this at any restaurant that serves this dish. Your reviews are quite poor and I understand why. If I could give some constructive feedback, I'd say revamp your menu and make tasty food that is worth the price you are charging. At the moment, your food lacks quality and you are charging what many good quality restaurants are charging, which is not an accurate reflection of your restaurant. The service was quite poor. I received a glass of water, my husband didn't. I received soup with no spoon, I had to wait about 5 minutes. No one bothered to check on us during our meal. I still left a very small tip because I was thankful I had food to eat. But I'm not happy with your quality or pricing. I let the lady at the till know when she asked me how everything was - I was honest about everything and she apologized and said she would give me a 10% discount, which I declined. $6.20 is not going to make up for this terrible experience. At least she was polite. If you want to grow and thrive, I suggest making a few things and doing them really well and make sure the prices are affordable. Also, please pay attention to your customer service. The 1 star is for the tempura only. I wish you all the best.
