I LOVE this nice little local cafe and the food that "mama" cranks out is amazing! Driving from Moab to Phoenix, we decided to get our of Moab and get down the road a ways before stopping for breakfast - ended up being a great decision! As we approached Blanding, we looked at Yelp for breakfast dinners in Blanding. Came across Yaks and pulled in. Walked in and immediately fill in love - very much of a family feel. Got seated right away and got some delicious coffee right away. We ordered then the Maricopa happened - everything we ordered came out fast, came out hot and came out delicious. Breakfast quesadilla was so big my wife took half to go - and it was delicious. Biscuits and gravy was some if the best we've everything tasted. My BIL had the Yak special and said it was so good, he'd order it again. Best breakfast though was my Skie Burrito! I've never seen this on any other menu before and it was one of the best things I've ever eaten for breakfast. So good, I asked to go back in the kitchen and personally extend my thanks and appreciation to "mama". If you're ever near Moab, take the hour long trip down to Blanding to experience this place.

The Navajo tacos are amazing! Small feedback is the onions could be chopped up a bit smaller, loved the salsa too. We had a dog so could not sit inside, bummer as it was empty, the inside is nice with plenty of tables, easy on/off highway, the outside picnic tables are in full Sun, would be great if shade could be available.

I'm a sucker for little local hole-in-the-wall spots and this one is amazing! Packs a punch with huge, stick to your ribs meals, super quick and kind service and reasonable prices. If you're a large group and they are busy, they might have to you split up and an 18% gratuity will be added. This looks like a place loved by both locals and through travelers coming and going to different locations. Totally worth the stop before another day of adventures!

We were looking for an old school diner for breakfast. Yaks fit the bill. Nice breakfast burrito. Good service.

There's no road quite as long as the one between your last fun destination on an extended summer…read moreroad trip, and the driveway of your house. The summer of 2020 made for some interesting nuances and nuisances with COVID-19 as we put 7000 miles on the odometer enjoying our great nation by car, but like all of our excursions, it was an amazing time. Traveling with three kids under 12 is not without its delights or its challenges; indeed, some of their best fights and most tender moments have come sitting side by side by side in the rear seat of my truck. When those fights come around lunch time, the best way to assuage their angst is to feed them, of course. And so, having left Moab, UT and heading south towards northern Arizona and eventually our Southern California home, we found ourselves in this quaint little southern Utah town with a pack of ravenous kids. A quick scan of the main drag revealed that choices were few here as far as a fast pull-in/pull-out and drive-while-we-eat experience... so Subway became the quick and easy choice. I have one rule for Subways that has saved me a lot of grief: I don't eat at a Subway attached to a gas station. Following this one guideline, we have always had a solid experience, and this place was no different. Since we were towing a pop-up camper trailer, we opted to park in the back and walk in vs. hitting the drive thru. The young lady working the counter was kind and patient with my kiddos who change their mind the faster than Missouri weather... and she wasn't shy about loading up veggies and fixins on the sandwiches. She was also happy to load me up with all the Picante-phile hot stuff (if you want to call it "hot"... but hey, it's Subway): jalapenos, Sriracha, pepperoncinis... you get the deal. All told, we were in and out in ten minutes, and back on the long road home. The restaurant was cleaner and the staff kinder than usual, and that's saying something for a small-town place catering to folks "just passing through" that doesn't really need to be either. Best wishes, small-town Subway, we hardly knew ya. But if the route catches us right again, we'll be back to see you again!

Subway is amazing everything's fresh and they make great sandwiches. Not bad for a quick stop.read more
