Definitely stop here instead of the place across the street! It's totally worth it and they have daily lunch specials. We were passing through from Utah to Oklahoma and I saw another reviewer say this is meat from the owners own cows so that's awesome! It definitely tasted better an juicier. You get a ton of fries and the ranch tastes homemade. It was super good and inexpensive. read more

What a fabulous find. We were greeted with smiling faces and very kind servers. The prices here are great and the portions even greater. We got a sandwich, a taco bowl, 2 kids meals and some wings- which are on sale for Wing Wednesday. The food is full of flavor, and there are so many great options on the menu. The interior is so cute, cozy, and well decorated. My kids absolutely loved the arcade games and it gave us a nice moment to eat in peace. read more

Nicer than most diners, right off the highway. Very friendly staff/owner. Portions are good sized. Food was fine, not impressive but we are off the beaten path this far out. Daily 5$ burger special. Lots of salads on the menu. Lots of locals, busy during the lunch hour. read more

This small little roadside Café in a little town called Dove Creek, Colorado. The staff were polite, courteous, and attentive. The food was really good and fresh, to have something as simple as freshly cut lettuce and tomatoes on a hamburger might not seem like a big deal but it's the attention to the small details in this café! I've driven by this place many times but today I decided to stop by and check it out. I'm glad I did. The atmosphere and the food was all wonderful. I might make this a weekly lunch stop ! read more

Stopped in on our way to Moab for a late lunch. We both had the chicken fried steak green beans and fries. Steak was very tender and the badder was lightly seasoned, green beans and fries were perfectly cooked as well. The waitress and owner were very friendly. We highly recommend stopping in for some good food with good folks. Our dog got a puppy patty to go and he said it was amazing too. read more

This place is a little gem- a great place to stop. They have a nice outside zone and cool atmosphere. We had the Denver omelette, which was excellent- big chunks of fresh veggies and ham. Also, you must try the pinto beans. They are local and made fresh. The owner is a second generation owner and very helpful with advice if you're traveling through. read more

Very good food, The meat comes from his cow's and has them processed serving his restaurant can't complain about anything there the food is great and never had one issue the staff is awesome very polite and the owner what an exceptional man he helps with the community and he also helps with kids on his Ranch to teach him how to do stuff how to be a Rancher. My family is from Dove Creek and I'm back in town to help my sister relocate home. First and second time I've been back to The Lunch Box under the new/old owners and the food has been outstanding. Highly recommend the Chicken Fried Steak (no premade frozen nastiness)..so good! Had the Cowboy Nachos today, my sister had the Turkey Cheddar Club..she said she'd have dreams about that sandwich. Looking forward to many more visits during the upcoming weeks before returning to Illinois. Fresh food and friendly staff. Super cute cafe, highly recommend! read more

We brought 55 students to Lowry and Hovenweep for a conference and service project. We ordered lunch boxes from them to be delivered after the service project (pulling weeds in ancient sites). We ordered a month ahead, confirmed before we left Denver and then again the day before. We were out at Lowry Pueblo when we found out they decided not to deliver the lunches. Imagine facing 55 teenagers who've been working in the sun with that news. We are moving on to Hovenweep where luckily, Dominoes saves us but lunch was 2 hours late. We DO NOT recommend this business! Horrible! read more

Really, really good burgers. My wife really likes their quesadillas. Whatever burger you order, ask for King Sauce and try it before you add any catsup or mustard. King Sauce normally comes on only one of the burgers. A friend had a chili burger last week and said it was the best. The menu is not huge, but more than adequately covers all three meals. If there is no parking spaces in front, it is no problem to park next door at the town office. A very friendly staff. The town was very happy to have this family operating the Lunch Box again after so many years. read more
