Came here after a day in Mesa Verde park. The ambiance was really chill, and welcoming. The customers were obviously regulars but all friendly and offering suggestions for food and beer and the bartender took his time to do the same. We ended up getting a tasting flight, a pretzel and their roast beef and BLT sandwiches. Everything was REALLY good. Their 8 IPA and the "back to the garden" beers were our favorites, but we liked them all. Wish we could have taken some home, but didn't have the means to keep them cold all the way back to Los Angeles. They also had a pretty extensive coffee menu, but we were there too late to try it. Wow, just wow! If you ever find yourself in Cortez, CO, Wild Edge Brewing Collective is the place to be. This fun, upbeat brewery in downtown is a gem that could easily hold its own in any big city. I was just passing through, but it's clear why this spot is a favorite among locals. The vibe here is amazing--chill yet lively, and the beers? Cold, flavorful, and unique. I seriously regret eating before I arrived because the food coming out of the kitchen looked absolutely upscale, not what you'd expect from a small town. Next time, I'm saving room for whatever they're serving! What made my visit even better was chatting with Jim, a local who winters in Port Aransas, TX, just a stone's throw from where I live. The bartender was a blast too--friendly and fun, adding to the whole experience. Oh, and shoutout to Wild Edge for the fantastically cool hoodie I snagged. Had a kölsch and a cider with the featured flat bread and it was all fantastic. The location one block off Main St is super chill with good parking, especially on a weeknight. Service was great. Prices aren't exactly cheap but not unreasonable for the size of the pours and portions. Great find in Cortez and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and return. read more

as one drives across america, looking for the out of the way, the not mundane, the spectacular, you roll into Cortez Co and find yet another Trivia Night at a fucking Brewery. We had just gone through this crap the night before in Alamosa, but oh well, such is our plight, to traverse the lonely american highways only to be comfronted with MC April asking who co-stared with Nic Cage in Moonstruck. eitherway, it's hard to judge a place when it's full of dumb people who don't know who Cher is, but we were here for the beer alone, and i got my flight and tried them all, and to be honest, the Porter and the Saison were standouts on the entire trip. I probably would have sat and drink more if MC April hadn't got me kicked out for yelling out the obvious answers to who played Pontious Pilate in The Last Temptation of Christ, one of my absolute favorite movies of all time. I'm new to the area and a little bit obsessed with this place. I am a medium-strength beer-snob -- like, I have favorite hops (my last dog was named Simcoe, my next will be Nelson or Mosaic) but will totally drink a Coors at a picnic and I think people who are pissy about a hazy need to calm down, you know? So I think this brewery is exceptionally good, with some crowd-pleasers but also some funky interesting stuff with local ingredients. They also have flatbread pizzas that are creative and delicious -- recently had a peach green chile one that was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. And in the morning: legit good espresso! It's like a big hug for this kid from Seattle. It also attracts a chill, friendly crowd. Thanks for kicking ass. read more

We were only in Cortez for one evening after visiting Mesa Verde and we only had time for one local brew each and their daily special flatbread. Both were good. It was late afternoon so it wasn't crowded. The service was quick and pleasant. We would recommend Wildedge Brewing based on our "limited" experience. read more

Went here on 9/22/21. Wow! This place is great! We were able to sit at the bar and talk to the owner and bartenders. Very friendly and attentive. They love their beer and they should. Everything was fantastic. The bottle and can all of their beer which is great. I was able to try a flight of everything they had on tap and it was great. They also have a very limited food menu. Did not try anything but all looked good. I wish I lived closer cause I would be here all the time. Cheers! read more

We stopped here while traveling in the area with our dogs. They have a few tables out front where we could sit with them. Friendly staff. Great local brewed beer. While limited on food menu items, what they do offer is pretty good. We had the pretzel, Caprese grilled cheese and the Cortez club. All were excellent. The club was a bit spicy with chipotle mayo. They are located two blocks north of the main street in Cortez and it was fairly quiet on a Saturday evening. We'll stop in again next time through. read more

We were visiting from out of town on Wednesday, June 4th in the am. The coffee was just ok. The barista was not friendly in the least. Didn't acknowledge us when we walked in (she was making a coffee for someone). She finally decided to turn and mumble a "I will be with you in a minute". While we were waiting another lady walked in and the barista went over to her at the cash register. I stood up (as we sat at table in front while we waited) to remind her we had been there for awhile, and I was standing in front of menu so that I could order what I wanted, and she said I had to go over to register to order (which was a bit rude as obviously I would have gone over there to pay). She then proceeded to talk to the other lady for the 10 minutes while we were there drinking our coffee, and never said another word to us. Her demeanor changed drastically with this local, and she even offered the lady an extra free shot of espresso. I think that "tourists" are a part of your business, and acting like you care about their business and not just locals would be nice. The lady working there did not represent this establishment or Cortez very well. read more

Came for a small bite and a drink after a long drive from out of town. It was a little late and not many options in the area but decided to stop here and give the local brewery a try. It was a bit awkward walking in trying to figure out where to sit and where to order it was a busy Friday night. We found a small table and went up to the bar to order and luckily they still we're serving some food 15m before closing the kitchen. I had the street tacos and got a dessert to share. We also got a drink I had the saison which was a good belgain ale. I also liked the tacos but wish there was a bit more meat in them considering they are priced on the high side. The prices did include tax just wish they had more food options that would be filling. They also didn't bring any silverware or napkins just the one spoon for the ice cream. I guess it's better than nothing. I guess next time I should eat before making a visit here again. read more

First, I did not eat any of the food; however, the beer was great. For being a brewer in the middle of no where, they have a good product. Their signature beer is Monkey Wrench: a pale ale. It starts good, has a clean middle, but finished with a pale ale flavor. Also had Across the Sea. This was a hazy with pineapple and pine. Finished with Vitamin C. All three were worth their price ($6-$7). If I ever find myself back in Cortez, I'll be certain to stop here. read more

We have been here many times actually met the owner. We have a licensed service dog and they are familiar at the brewery with his certification and have actually checked his current license status. Today we were refused service for the first time in over thirty years. Unfortunately this is a violation of Colorado law. On top of being refused service the gentleman was extremely rude. Very unfortunate but in hindsight probably an underpaid employee that management had not properly informed. Hopefully they'll at least address the post. read more

Good beers and sometimes they have good snacks or a special. Not a full restaurant but they have a little food. It's also nice when they have live music and in the warmer months sitting outside because it's not a busy street. They serve some ciders from Fenceline cidery in Mancos as well. read more
