When you order for dine-in, confirm the menu item you are ordering cones with all the ingredients. They will leave items off and not say anything at all - unless you ask - "Wasn't this supposed to have eggs?" They will say yes because that's what the menu says but they don't put it on because the cost of the egg is too much. No price change on the menu, no update to the menu, no waitress saying the change, just you not getting the item. It's bait and switch. read more

We came here for dinner before heading to our rental. I didn't realize the trophy room meant hunting trophies. That was a surprise. It was also a nice surprise that they had karaoke. There were some good singers there that night. We love French dips so we got that and the fry bread taco (half). The issue I had was I asked the server if both the red and green chilies had meat. It wasn't very clear on the menu so I asked. She said yes. So I went with green. It didn't come with meat which was disappointing. We were just passing through Cortez and like to try all sorts of local places and figured this place looked good. It was Barely OK. I ordered a French dip and it was a mix of good and not. The meat was great, it had a great flavor to it although just a touch salty. The flavor of the meat was taken away with the American cheese. It was not a good combination. I feel like it needed a provolone or maybe Swiss to compliment the meat. The bread it came on and the au jus were great. The French fries were ok, very basic and standard. The service was not very good. We stood at the bar for a long time not being acknowledge (all someone has to do is say "one second") then after being seated it took a while till they took our order. Only came by after that to drop off food, then barely came by and didn't really ask how things were or if we needed anything. The atmosphere was good though. On the last leg of roadtrip back home. Thanks to some mini cooper rally takeover. Was forced to make an unscheduled and unexpected stop in Cortez, Colorado. Blondie's Trophy Room definitely made everything better. Chicken friend steak was delicious and came with a side of green chile stew that was amazing. Their French dip was absolutely mouthwatering. Everything perfectly seasoned with the right amount of kick. Place was clean and had a great vibe. Staff was sweet and very attentive. Full bar, pool tables and good music. A future trip will be planned to Cortez, Co with Blondie's at top of list. read more

Quite disappointing, but not the worse we have had. Only three beers on tap, and not even a local IPA. But it's a burger bar, not a brew pub. The queso looked strange but was actually pretty good. We were told that all the $11 burgers were $5, but what they didn't say was that the $5 burgers were 1/4 pounders, not the 1/2 pounders on the menu. Didn't eat my burger as it was cold, as was the single jalapeño "topping" it. But the sweet potato fries were amazing. A little cold, but delish anyway. You need to fix your hours on here, and I believe the hours on the sign in front of your business. I just tried to swing by at 10:35 and it is closed and it appears to have shut down at least 30 min ago because all the chairs are stacked and a worker inside looked as if she was just finishing mopping and ready to go home. My girl and I came in to shoot some pool and get some food. I really like the feel of this place. You got pool in the back, plenty of sit down dining area, and a big enough bar to hang at. Service was good once we sat down, but getting a couple beers going while playing pool took a little effort. Potato wedges were a little iver done but still fine to eat and tasty. It was our first visit. It looked like a great place. It's the day before Thanksgiving and it was busy. We understood and we were patient. We sat at a table but after a while we realized nobody would be coming to take our order anytime soon. We moved to the bar when seats opened up in hopes that it would be better there. The bartender ran back and forth in front of us at least 50 times without even saying hello. Finally she took our drink order. We sat there with our beers until they were empty...waiting for someone to take our food order. The regulars in the bar were getting instant service. The bartenders would just walk by with a nasty look on their face and roll their eyes. Once our beers were empty for a while the bartender asked if we wanted a refill. We declined, paid and left. Too bad. It seems like it would be a great place but the servers don't smile and they don't try to make you feel welcome. I guess we'll never know if the food is good or not. The website makes this place look like a rocking good, crazy biker bar, and that is the kind of action I'd hoped for on my birthday, but no dice. No gorgeous men nor hot babes. Kind of sedate. I could have brought a book and just sat by the window, spending the afternoon reading. Granted, I was there in the late afternoon, but still, it was rather dead for a weekend. I also like to collect cool saloon t-shirts, but I was disappointed in their sort of "truck stop" style of saloon t's--don't bother. Still, this place has a local feel. I got the idea it was the go-to place for locals regarding poker runs, good burgers, which is why I did my research and singled it out. My friend had a salad, fairly gourmet for pub-grub with fresh ingredients, large and good dressing, and I had a wicked sandwich served on pretzel bread, which I would recommend as it tasted homemade. The beer was cold and affordable, and we were just grateful it was so cold since we'd been camping for four days and it was hot. You won't get any yuppie micro beer here, nor a lovely wine list. But that's not why you'd come here. You'd come here to find out what Cortez's, local color feels like, what makes the town a town. I had to giggle as there was a "head shop" across the street from this place, so there's definitely a 1970's vibe at work here. As the town goes, it's sort of boring here, working class, but not that eccentric like Leadville. We were here because of its proximity to Mesa Verde National Park. Bartender Erica was great! Had a chef salad and a Shocktop on tap. The salad was fresh and delicious. I love the slanted bowl. Also ordered chicken wings to go. They were good also. The bar/restaurant has plenty of room and good decor. It's definitely a locals bar but they are welcoming and not protective of their turf. Wife and i visit here now and then. Sometimes food is good sometimes not. Well never got a chance to see if food was good this time because the service was the worst I've had in some time anywhere. Started off there were no clean tables. Waitress said she just started her shift. We ordered drinks. After waiting for quite sometime i told the waitress we were ready to order. She was at the bar visiting. There was only us, one person at the bar and one other table. Another lady heard me and told her we were ready. When we got our food, the order was all messed up. It was bad enough she had to take it back to the kitchen. While we were sitting there we could hear here talking with the cook about us rudely. I got up went in the kitchen and told them we could hear everything they were saying and to bring my check and keep their food. The waitress said it was on the house and we left. Looking for a place to have lunch as we passed through town. Blondie's was a GREAT find! We has fantastic and quick service by both the bartender and the waiter was. Ordered a prime rib appetizer, which was served in a bowl of aju. Unfortunately it was over cooked and tough. Wished we had specified how we would like the meat cooked. Lesson learned. We also ordered the Green Chile Stew that was amazing!! Very favorable and filling. The stew was an ample portion and very reasonably priced! Asked for military discount, which was declined though the bartender comped on of our beers!! So very sweet and unexpected!! Would definitely return!! Blondies is definitely under new management - and not for the better. The food is mediocre at best - far from as good as it used to be. The draft beer selection is practically nonexistent. And the service is slow. I used to live in Cortez and this was a great place to grab a burger, a beer (even at 10 AM) and there was good entertainment. On a trip back to Cortez this week, I took a party of 3 by at 12:30 on a week day. 3 people sat at the bar (2 of which were good friends of the one waitress working, evident in the length of time she spent giggling with them) and there was one other table of 2 there. We got checked on once. It took a LONG time to get our food. Nope, I didn't time it since the old Blondies was on it and quick. Anyway, I've had several bad chicken fried steak experiences recently, thank goodness this place broke the unlucky streak. The normal chicken fried steak, tender ad can be, mashed potatoes and country gravy, and a tasty medley of grilled corn, green chiles and onions, and a big side salad with local fresh produce and really good 1000 Island dressing. If this could be a zero it would be. We arrived at this bar/restaurant a little before 6:30 pm. We had to ask if we seated ourselves etc. Yes, you do. They wiped off a vacant table after we asked if we could have it. Their didn't do this without asking. I have no idea why. The waitress brought us menus after we ordered our 2 drinks, 1 diet soda and 1 beer. We waited over 30 minutes while she went to other tables to give receipts, take drink orders, and even took other diners' food who had arrived AFTER we did. She did not return to our table. We did not complain but left $$ for the drinks on the table and walked. No one called out after us or asked about it. We are from Texas and have never been treated like this in any place we've gone in the USA. And we have been everywhere but Alaska. I know all these poor restaurants are just swamped with little staff to help out, especially during COVID it is a common theme; however, we weren't even advised that she would get back to us asap. Nothing. In fact, she sat with people she obviously knew and had a conversation while taking their order. They arrived after we did by 10 minutes at least. I cannot recommend this place to anyone after this treatment. We hope she has a better tomorrow. read more
