We eat Mexican food at least twice a week and we were impressed with the quality of all the food! Service was good, the restaurant was loud & bustling early on a Sunday evening. I came here to enjoy some time reading a book. I had the birra taco special and a Midori Margarita- that was amazing. The birra meat was tender with just the right amount of sauce. My server was attentive to me throughout the time there. The restaurant has a couple of rooms and was decorated in a typical style. I enjoyed my time there and the food was what I wanted. My only complaint is with a patio they don't allow dogs. (Finding this to be an issue in Cortez). My boy is amazing and does not bother anyone else. Just my personal opinion. read more

I ordered the pollo al chipotle and a side of guacamole. The guacamole was good, once you add some taijin it really came together. The pollo al chipotle was great. The chicken was still moist and the sauce over the dish was very tasty. The staff were attentive and the service was great. read more

Our family of four absolutely loved this place! The food took us back--especially the Carnitas de Res, which reminded me so much of my father's cooking. As someone with Mexican roots, I can say this dish was incredibly authentic and full of rich, savory flavor. My daughter ordered the Mexican pizza with beef, and wow--absolutely amazing! I tried the chicken mole, which was a bit on the sweet side for my taste, but still well-prepared. Normally I go for a skinny margarita, but I switched it up and got the original--perfectly balanced and not too sweet. Delicious! The vibe of the restaurant was warm and lively, and the service was spot-on from start to finish. Chips and salsa were just okay, but honestly, the rest of the experience more than made up for it. Lunch today at Tequila's Mexican Restaurant in Cortez, Colorado was great. My husband had the Pollo Asado (Charbroiled chicken breast. Served with rice and whole beans) and said it was very good. I had the Camarones A La Crema (Jumbo shrimp cooked with mushrooms sautéed in a sour cream sauce) and it was delicious. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Nothing beats Tequilas. The service is outstanding. The food is amazing. 99/100 times I get the carne asada with a side of tomatillo sauce. Was passing through with my dog and craving Mexican food. Although the Taco Bell down the road would have been an easy option, I decided to take a chance on a local spot... and boy am I glad we did! For those of you visiting Mesa Verde, the patio is lovely with views of the hill and mostly covered so it was cooler than the day's heat. I had my dog so I wanted somewhere we could sit outside and the restaurant accommodated us. As the only patrons on the patio, I was able to close my eyes as I savored every bite without judgement. I'm a shrimp girlie and immediately was draw to the Tequila's special. Charcoal grilled shrimp in green sauce with tortillas and rice... as if the grilled shrimp wasn't enough, the rice was also topped with baby shrimps. I've just ordered fried icecream to go.. I think we can assume that I'll find a safe space to savor my dessert as I have no room in my body at this moment but felt the need to try it. I would give our server five stars...but the food gets a two. The chips tasted stale. The cheese dip looked awesome in the big pig bowl but it was so stringy it was hard to eat and didn't taste good. My son's quesadilla was huge but they didn't put cheese all the way to the edges. My daughter's burrito was "good" according to her. My chicken salad was alright...there just wasn't a lot of chicken. My husband's fajitas were most disappointing. He orders his veggies separate from the meat because he's picky and we are used to getting a skillet full of steak at our favorite place back home. Great place to eat. Margaritas were excellent. Miguel was a great waiter. Daniel served chip, salsa & cabbage salsa immediately. When we had 1 chip left, he was there with a new basket & salsa. Plates cleared quickly and very polite. Had combination plate. Chili Relleno was good. Could have been deveined better and could use a little more cheese. Had shredded beef for enchilada & taco, it was excellent. Very flavorful, tasted like it stewed all day. I wish I could make it like that. As mentioned, Miguel & Daniel were great. Gross! Want to start by saying never trust a white person to tell you where to get Mexican food! I will say the chips, salsa, and strawberry margarita were delicious but the Carne asada tacos and chile colorado entrees where disgusting! The Carne asade was bland not marinated with little to no Pico inside. The chile colorado was even worse! It tasted and smelled like (yes specifically) Purina dog food!! Wow is all I can say. I stopped here after coming from Mesa Verde National Park, and I am beyond glad that I chose this place in particular. When I walked in, I was seated very promptly and quickly. I was served salsa and chips, and also a kind of spicy lettuce mix that was used for dipping as well. The salsa was bomb diggity dang! and it had a very nice kick to it! I ended up ordering the fried fish tacos , which were made from (tilapia). I was torn between these or chipotle chicken enchiladas, but my waiter recommended the fish tacos. They came out on a huge plate! I was impressed with the generous portions! even more impressed when I took a bite out of them and was presented with such flavor!!! These tacos were soothing to my soul, and they were beyond filling! I finished my entire plate, I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of food and service here! I will try to return and try some more delicious items on the menu!!! read more

AMAZING true-Mexican restaurant! Pacifico, XX amber and lager on draught are cold and crisp. Chicken with verde sauce is as tangy and righteous as can be. Extended stay in town, with husband, for work. Asked the girls at the hotel desk. what was the best place in town, to have dinner. Without hesitation, they said Tequila's, and Farm Bistro. We decided Mexican cuisine, sounded good after a long two day road trip. Parking was a bit tricky, as it was last evening of Memorial Day weekend. Very to capacity inside, gorgeous evening outside, so we requested outside seating. Very nice outdoor seating facing the street. Once seated outside on the patio, we were imediately given chips and salsa, menus, and asked if we knew what we wanted to drink. We quickly decided, from the great selection provided in the menu. Hubs ordered bacon wrapped jalapeños for appetizer. For our entres, he ordered Chili Colorado and I ordered Camerones Al A Crema. Our food came in great timing, was well presented and the aroma was incrdible. The food was well prepared, and of quality ingredients, and very tasty. Our waiter/s were very attentive and things were well kept, prepped, and cleaned. *The chips and tortillas were not the best. Chips were really thick and not the best quality, and the tortillas were thin, and not house made, but fresh and warm. HOWEVER, the salsa quite made up for them, as well as the rest of the food.
