Really impressed with this little diner. A big menu with many options. We actually wound up eating here twice- both the day before we went to Mesa Verde and also on the day we left. Both visits were fantastic- delicious food and awesome service. We tried a turkey bacon melt, a Ruben and the French toast combo. All meals were great! Has a local diner feel in the restaurant. We were seated promptly and the server was very friendly. The menu is quite large. We ate breakfast and I had the breakfast burrito. It was huge. I probably should have got the green chile sauce on it. But it was still outstanding. Eat like a local and stop by here. read more

Food was okay service was horrible. Didn't get a refill on coffee, took forever to take our order. They were more focused on cleaning the bathroom than attending to paying customers. My husband and I waited for the check, never came around so he stood at the counter for about 10 minutes. The place was not that busy for the service to be this horrible. We own a cafe as well and understand it can get busy and overwhelming but there was no excuse for this. Food was 6/10, service was 0/10. read more

Came here for brunch, was seated right away. Friendly staff. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries. Pretty delicious if I do say so myself. My wife had chicken strips and fries. The chicken strips were pretty dried out so I don't recommend getting those. I only had 2 gripes besides those chicken strips. First one is there's a woman trying to sell her jewelry that comes right up to the table and tries to sell you. Took about 5 minutes until she left. Wasn't wanting to be sold to in a diner I came to have a meal in. I had no problem with the other woman standing up front with her tables of items she was selling. It was just a little intrusive to be sold to at the table. Other thing is I asked for a couple of sides of bbq sauce. At the end I see a $3 charge for the bbq sauce. I understand sauce isn't free but $3 for a small cup of bbq sauce? And no mention of the extra charge when I ordered it? A little shady... read more

Visiting the 4 corners area. Traveling thru Cortez, Co. we found this place for breakfast. We ordered the hot skillet with steak, the egg breakfast with polish sausage, children's French toast and a grilled cheese sandwich. The steak was full of flavor tender, eggs cooked right over vegetables and home potatoes. The vegetables were fresh and not mushy like in some places. The potatoes could've used a tad of seasoning but overall a flavorful meal. The polish egg breakfast was very good. The grilled cheese and fries is self explanatory and the children's breakfast was happily eaten. Service was prompt and friendly. Generous not over the top portions. Clean almost quaint restaurant. The greasiest food that I have had in Cortez. The enchilada sauce is out of a can and tastes like can sauce. The eggs were so greasy that I could not eat them. The potatoes were bad. All the food but the eggs seemed like they opened cans and warmed them up. I would say if you like homemade food stay away from this place. Got there early in the am. Just a 3 top of regulars in the place. Service was acceptable if not terribly friendly. Huevos Rancheros with pork green chile was different but palatable. The shaved home fries looked better than they were. Coffee is hot but as stated below.......if you are a coffee lover stay away. Price was somewhat ridiculous considering Huevos Rancheros at 13.95 ...cup of coffee with a single top off, 1 piece of toast for my wife and the bill was $27 so look out for the add ons. read more

I wish I was in town longer. I was driving through Cortez and searched for burritos and Beny's was highly ranked. I ordered some take out and, despite the Saturday rush, it was ready in under 15 minutes. I opted for the burrito ranchero. It came SMOTHERED in salsa verde and cheese and I ate the entire thing in less than 5 minutes. Their breakfast and other Mexican options look amazing. Cute place with a lot of seating too! read more

Initially I was impressed with this cute little diner. Excited when my skillet came as it looked delicious. Although my steak was dried up and the dish was greasy with overall NO FLAVOR ! I asked for some green enchilida sauce and was informed it would by $2.50 I only wanted a little and said I would pay a little extra but not $2.50. They said that was impossible.! When I got up front, my waitress expressed her disappointment. She thought I felt entitled. !! Yes the customer IS entitled to good tasting food. Even she agreed that they possibly could change the price of their menu slightly to adjust for a little sauce on a dish to make it palatable!! What's happened to Customer Service in this world where the customer is right and they want to please the customer without raking them on all these extras for all these sauces ?? Solid diner. We got salads. Taco salad with beef and crispy chicken salad. Both were good portions were medium sized. If I was really hungry, I would've felt like it was small but I ate the whole thing and it was perfect which probably means I don't really need to eat anything bigger than that lol. Omg, delicious food, great friendly service, big menu. Highly recommend if you are traveling near Cortez or Live in the area. Try the cinnamon roll French toast if you're in the mood for breakfast, which is served all day. Also lots of lunch options too and Mexican food, yum! Good Food, Great Service! We popped over to Beny's prior to heading to Mesa Verde National Park. We were greeted and seated right away. It is a nice little diner, very family friendly and I am sure family owned and operated. My husband went with the Carne Asada Burrito topped with Green Chile, and a side of over easy eggs. I went for the Huevos Rancheros with the Green Chili. Our daughter had the biscuits and gravy, and our son went with the kids bean & cheese burrito with fruit. Not much longer we were being served our meals. Portions were fairly large, and everything looked delicious. I enjoyed my meal as did my husband and kids. They have great Green Chile. This place literally has the best huevos rancheros I've ever had. It's the pork verde sauce that really pops it off. It's all perfectly seasoned, tender, and everything on the plate compliments each other. And the home fries! I'd eat an entire plate of these alone. I'm blown away! What a hidden gem! My wife and I were passing through on our way to New Mexico and we were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant itself is cozy and the staff are friendly. Stopped here on our way home from Telluride after reading great reviews on here! I tried to call in my order like 10 times but they do not pick up their phones so I went to place my order. They were busy, people were waiting a long time to be seated. I put in my order and it was ready a little bit later than they said, but not bad. I got a skillet with no meat or eggs, and asked to add avocado. They said yes, but didn't give me any. I got the English muffin on the side. My fiancé got two eggs with bacon, potatoes, and sourdough toast. We also shared a half order of French toast and a cinnamon roll. It was all so delicious! They did forget to put butter on my fiancé's toast, but otherwise amazing. Probably our best meal in Colorado. The potatoes in the skillet were perfectly crispy. The cinnamon roll was warm and soft and very delicious. I think a weekday might be a better day to visit because they seemed to be very understaffed, but we enjoyed our experience! read more

I wish I could give this diner more stars. I had breakfast here before heading to Mesa Verde. Cute town, cute diner, typical interior of car memorabilia and lots of booths. I had an eggs and sausage breakfast with tomato and avocado, which were an easy sub for the home fries (that also looked delicious btw). A cup of black tea and water topped off a perfectly normal and yummy diner breakfast for me. Now let me tell you the kindness I witnessed. A homeless man entered and was greeted with a smile; he was seated at a table and his order was taken. The owner walked in and greeted the man with a friendly good morning and a smile. After chatting with my waitress, I found out that the owner treats his customers, and those without, with total respect and kindness. This man couldn't pay, but he was given a hot meal on a cold day when he clearly needed one. Much love to this restaurant's owner and staff...I don't mean to put your business out there for such selfless acts, but you deserve to have customers know how awesome you people are...kudos!! This place is like the reviews! Family run and super friendly place in Cortez, CO not too far from Mesa Verde National Park. There were icy roads in the park and we needed to kill an hour while the road thawed, so we went to breakfast at Beny's. We were immediately greeted upon entering and seated in a comfy booth. Our waters and coffee were refilled each time we were getting towards the end. They have just about everything you can imagine on the breakfast menu with multiple options. The portions are HUGE!
