Love a good depot burger. Solid shakes and malts plus really good onion petals. Great service and friendly staff. The place feels nostalgic and comfortable too. read more

Depot Burger was great...better than alot more popular hip burger places in the area service was friendly. Order was quick

Amazing little lunch stop! Crowded but efficient. Great burgers, huckleberry milkshakes, tater tots, and cones. We ate outside at their picnic tables. Very friendly and family oriented place. The Depot was a fun place in a picturesque town. We WILL make an effort to come back (we live on the east coast). read more

Always good food service is great. Nice place to stop for a burger. And finish up with Ice Cream.

It is our stop before we go to the wilderness and first place go when we come off the mountain. It's the burger I think about when someone says" want a burger" It's a burger joint, and they do it right. read more

It doesn't look like much (but it has Christmas lights in the winter that add a little festive feel). It's on the main road driving through Dolores, CO. It's definitely a greasy spoon - dive (but it's clean). You can smell the burgers cooking down the street (mmmm, makes my mouth water). The menu is simple and easy. The prices are reasonable. The food is consistent. If you're looking for a grilled cheese sandwich or charbroiled burger - stop in! (They have a couple more food options but that's what we always get). The "Depot" Burger actually has two charbroiled patties. The french fries - are well - french fries - like any other fast food joint. But guess what? They have tater tots and onion rings! And the ranch dressing is yummy. They also have soft serve ice cream and shakes. I like the strawberry shakes. I've heard they have yummy breakfast burritos but I haven't tried them - yet. If you've been hiking, fishing, cycling or you happen to be traveling through town to go skiing or off roading and your are hungry- stop at the Depot for a quick bite to eat! read more

The first time my family and I had their food was really good. The sweet potato fries were tasty. My family was craving it again, so I reordered what I got. The regular fries, burgers, and corn dogs were good. The sweet potato fries were very burnt. I was disappointed because the first time we tried it we loved it and thought it was going to be a regular place to eat. read more

This place is fine.... quick and fulfilling. Not healthy. I saw one reviewer say this was healthy food. Give me a break. Comfort food. Just don't eat the ketchup. Almost 100% pure sugar. I'll go back and get a burger. Skip the fries. read more

We had the fish sandwich and I had tater tot's while my husband had the fries. It was just ok. The service was ok but they didn't know how anything came. Like what does the grilled cheese have, or what is on the fish sandwich. The food was pretty quick. While they do have outside seating the sun was beating down right on the tables so it was a bit warm outside. read more

We stayed nearby for a few weeks in our 5th wheel and drove by The Depot a half dozen times and each time we did I thought that's what's for dinner tonight. Well we finally did on our second to last night here and the four of us were all very happy with our dinner. The kids had chicken nuggets which were battered, crisp and had a great flavor. My wife had the Philly steak sandwich which was awesome. I had the New Mexico burger with large slices of peppers and pepper jack between and on top of two hamburger patties. Full and happy! We ordered chili con queso smothered onion peddles as well. Exactly what we were expecting, Oh My God Good! Finished wood inside and outside including the bench tables. Everyone that was working were super polite, and we're having a fun time working at The Depot. Great small town burger joint! Thanks for cooking! read more

After being disappointed by the brewery in town we came into The Depot for not so good burgers, I ordered a mushroom burger combo the meat patty was super dry and bland it came with cheese on it and bacon that was burnt beyond recognition I wasn't impressed by any means I don't see how this place got the reviews that it did because this is a town that relies on tourism to keep them afloat. The shoe string french fries was the only thing that kept me eating along with the funny couple that was sitting across from us complaining about there awful corn dogs. I can honestly say I won't make a second trip in to eat. Now I can see why Montezuma's up the road takes 90% of the restaurant business here in town. read more

Know before you go...they close at 2:00. We made a semi long trip to have a late lunch there arrived @ 2:12 and they were closed. I had checked the website & it said they were open until 7:30. This place was smoking... literally. They really need to improve the ventilation over their grill! Burgers were good and decently priced for their size (big). My 6yo did not like the chicken nuggets or ranch (which rarely happens) and they are a bit spendy at $6 for 4. I'd try a hot dog next time. The tots are way better than the fries. read more

My husband and I were searching for something to eat this evening and happened upon The Depot. I ordered a chili cheese dog with mustard and onions, along with onion petals. He ordered a regular hamburger with cheese fries. We both drank water. The place was busy, but our orders came out faster than I though they might. My hotdog was cold. It wasn't even hot enough to melt any of the grated cheese on top. The chili didn't sit right with me and made me feel sick. I couldn't eat my hotdog. The onion petals were good, but they forgot to include the ranch dressing in our order. My husband went back inside to ask for it. He said his burger was hot. The cheese fries were good. There were two girls inside handling the front. One was busy busy, the other standing by the phone doing nothing. I didn't complain about the hotdog to the staff because it just didn't seem worth it. I didn't want to order anything else because my stomach was already getting upset. This place isn't fancy. Plenty of seating and dog-friendly outside. They brought our dog a bowl of water, which we appreciated. Everything is served in paper or styrofoam, all plastic utensils, easy throw-away stuff. I doubt we'll go back. read more

The Depot - Food! - Burgers Near Me - Dolores, Colorado

So this review is not about the food, just the service. We arrived about 5 minutes before 2:00, along with a few other customers, who seemed to be locals. Unaware that they closed at 2:00, we took a few minutes looking at the outside menu, posted on the wall by the door. A female server came out and walked right by past us to deliver food to some customers and then went back inside. At about 2:03, my husband went in to order and was informed by the young lady that they close at 2:00. So, apparently they will take your order at 1:59, but when the clock strikes 2:00, all bets are off. Would have been nice if she had bothered to mention that when she saw us looking at the menu, right behind the people whose order she would take. All in all it felt like a "we don't like tourists, f-off" vibe. Don't recommend for outsiders. read more

Meal service here during COVID is easy with plenty of self responsibility. Masks are not mandated, just social distancing. Some booths are roped off in the dining area. Enough with all that junk. On to the FOOD! We are here in the early summer of 2019, and the food was great then. It is still great. Simple, frugal (for what you get) prices and we love the old school paper bags with your order written on them. Actually, kudos to this establishment for everything being served in good old paper sacks and bags. Kinda the way it used to/should be. We had a nice lunch on the very dog friendly patio. Please leash your pets. Waited less than ten minutes for our sandwiches. My wife enjoyed a grilled cheese and I had the signature Depot Burger. Grilled cheese was excellent, and my burger was prepared perfectly with all the fixings. Served on a nice sesame bun, wrapped in paper, and fresh to order. Shoe string fried all around made for easy dipping. Great food, great prices, awesome! Also, one of the cooks delivered a nice cool bowl of fresh water for our patio pooch. So nice. We will be back!! read more

Dolores, Colorado Great little place, solid burgers and rings. We even bought a T-Shirt. And I'm almost embarrassed to say this being from The South but they had some of the best ice tea I've ever had. (1/2 green and 1/2 regular). Great stopover in Dolores while driving through virtual nothingness on our way to Mesa Verde. Yummy burgers, crispy fries / onion rings, cold soft drinks and homemade shakes make for a dream of a burger stop. The mushroom burger was OK, the avocado burger and other burgers were super yummy. It's been a few years since we've been to The Depot. When last there the food was really good. It's just a small mom and pop place, which is a big old plus for us. There's a lot great about Dolores and this is part of it. I know we got the basic burger, but the best item is the tacos! Fabulous!!!! They cook the meat fresh, you can taste it! In the meat mixture is potatoes. Great texture and flavor. Warning for you tex-mex folk, not tex-mexy. Each time we breeze through Co. we stop by. Sadly, on our last trip we were no where near Dolores. Oddly, even though we had a blast, we really regretted not making our way to that little town. Next time, no regrets we're making it happen! Stop by Dolores if you get a chance, not just for The Depot but the whole town is a treasure, including a grocery store that sales, locally grown organic produce, got some of the best portobellas there. (Hope they're still there) read more

Very Impressed, the hamburgers are very good, but it's not very hard to mess up a burger, but the Mexican food is amazing, and cooked bye a white guy non the less and I'm born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico. My sombreros' off to the cook !! Seating is wood booths (not very comfortable) and their is some seating outside. The town folk are very nice and so was the staff. Shakes where good, fries where good, prices where very cheap. Side note: The town truly is a treasure as Cordelia Y. so gratefully commented on, so I stopped bye and was impressed with the freshness and quaintness of a nice small town grocery store, make sure you get some meat here as it's truly fresh, after cooking up the steaks you can taste that it's local and just tastier, especially for the price. Definitely making it a point to stop here. Thank you "The Depot" and the town of Dolores,CO. read more
