Don't come here if you are in a rush. It was not very busy, as we were seated immediately. We were a family of 4 and sat inside, waiting about 40 minutes for our food to arrive. We had only ordered 3 sandwiches and an acai parfait. We actually thought they forgot about us as there was a party of two who arrived about five minutes after us, but we're served and finished eating their meals before our food came.The staff never gave an excuse when we asked. Food: got the French toast. The Japanese milk bread was soft as expected, but it wasn't the best milk bread I've had. It seemed whole grain-y and not meant to be toasted, which didn't appeal to me. There was barely any jam in the bread, definitely not worth $2 extra. The chile flavor was not very noticeable either. Biscuits and gravy: the other person reported it was good. I also tried their breakfast burrito on another day - this was very good. Service: it took way longer than expected to get my food, even though the other person I was with ordered their biscuits and gravy right before I did. It wasn't terribly busy inside in terms of number of people, but I guess other things were happening. Still, the wait was longer than it should have been. This well-kept place is housed in a historic building and perfect for dogs with a terrace area adjacent. I had an unusual BLT with goat cheese spread instead of mayo, with candied onions on a ciabatta roll. It was accompanied by slaw of unusual composition--not sweet like slaw usually comes. Bravo to the chef for trying something new on the BLT and the slaw, but I'd just as soon have had the conventional type. We'd return if ever in the area again. read more

We ate here after hiking for three hours. It hit the spot. My husband had the grilled cheese and soup while I had the cauliflower salad with soup. The service was fast and the inside seating was comfortable. So glad we got a chance to try them out. read more

Such a nice atmosphere nestled in a Historic building with a picturesque outdoor seating area. The food was so flavorful. My sons loved the BLT with heirloom tomatoes and the breakfast sandwich. I thought the green chili chicken soup was perfectly spiced. The service was great and they even brought a water bowl out for our puppy who came with us. This is 'hands down' the best place to eat in the area! Besides the super friendly staff, led by Kelly herself, their food is amazing! Depending on which night, you can experience: epic grilled cheeses, pork/chicken/veggie tacos and quesadillas, spicy (or not) crispy chicken sandwiches, a curry, nachos, cupcakes, tarts, homemade salsa, hummus, and hot sauces... We come here to the Dolores Brewery every Wednesday for the southwest grilled cheese sandwich (which I reviewed a while back and it is PERFECTION) and the pulled pork sandwich (which is FABULOUS) but this is the first time we have tried her cupcakes. Y'all, they are the best cupcakes I have ever had. You know how so many cupcakes are dry and too sweet? Well, Kelly's are soooooo moist and flavorful and not at all too sweet. Kelly's Kitchen is still serving up deliciousness at the brewery even though they have moved indoors. (Indeed, we had a moment of panic when we pulled up and didn't see the truck.) I'm in my mid 60s and I've been eating biscuits and gravy for most of my life. Yes, my heart is fine; I've recently had it checked. Thanks for asking. Anyway, Kelly's, in addition to having a bunch of smiling faces, has the the best biscuits and gravy I have ever eaten. Rich, slightly spicy and peppery sausage gravy ladled over some sweet and soft-baked biscuits was so very happy making. My wife, who was the source of all of my happiness until I met these biscuits and gravy, also had some food that she loved, but whatever. So go there, eat all of the food including the glorious B&G, leave a tip, and know that you've had food worthy of the queens (drag and otherwise) and kings of Europe, but it's not for them. Kelly's Kitchen provides a very inviting atmosphere for breakfast and lunch, with high quality food and beverages, and also serves dinner across the street at the Dolores River Brewery on Wed. and Thurs. evenings. Kelly's Kitchen has excellent coffee- something that in my opinion has really been lacking in Dolores. In truth everything on the menu is delicious. My favorites for breakfast are the huevos, and the classic breakfast, and the stuffed french toast with big latte. My favorite lunch is the grilled cauliflower (OMG!) and the BLT OG, and the grilled cheese sandwich, with a big matcha latte. This is a great place to pop in for a quick to-go coffee and grab-and-go breakfast burrito, or to meet friends for a leisurely meal, or a quiet solo meal with a good book. I've also been here for work meetings which makes them far more enjoyable than meeting in a stuffy office. The staff are all top notch. The service is fantastic. The space is charming, and in one of Dolores' historic buildings. Love it. You should totally stop in and treat yourself. Oh, I forgot to mention the cupcakes! The Southwest grilled cheese sandwich is perfection itself. Perfect crunchy exterior and melty cheese interior with mild hatch chilies and tomatoes--so flavorful! Southwest slaw is likewise delicious!! Pulled pork is tender, plentiful and they are not stingy with the delicious barbecue sauce, that is is sweet-savory, not overly sweet. Served on a cibatta bun and accompanied by Asian slaw, which is tangy-sweet and crunchy, it's a great dinner. Can't recommend enough!!! read more
