Counter Culture is one of those rare spots that just gets it right. They source a ton of their ingredients locally, make so much of the menu in-house, and somehow keep it all super affordable. The food isn't just good--it's nourishing. I highly recommend the CC Burger and the Gobbler, but honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Great flavor, and service. Burger (CC) is clean and not greasy at all. This has been a weird summer of me visiting burger joints that don't serve traditional fries...wasn't a fan of the hammer fries. Seemed like mine were mostly peels? I dunno. Also...be prepared for a terrible parking experience. Yikes! We sat outside and had about 3-4 vehicles nearly take us out while they were baking into their parking spots. read more

A little expensive for what you get, but about what one should expect in Telluride. If you go when it's busy you could have a hard time finding a comfortable place to sit bathe atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired, but at least you can get beer next door. Tried the CC burger and loaded fries. You get a beeper after you order, and there's some dog friendly outdoor tables in a tent across the street. Burger was really good! We had the CC Burger. It was overcooked and too salty to eat. Tasted like they included the pasture salt lick in the recipe. What's with all the salt, Counter Culture?? Do yourself and your blood pressure a favor and skip this place until they can get a grip on their salt shaker. read more

This was a nice place, not very big but the food was excellent as well as the customer service. I had a burger and it was very good. It is a place to drop in have a few beers and a sandwich while you kick rocks with your friend and move on. Overall I thought the place was quaint and welcoming. This review is for the Counter Culture location in Mountain Village. I had been planning to check out the Society Drive location during my trip, and was surprised to see a sign in Mountain Village for a Counter Culture + Telluride Brewing location. It's a small spot but plenty of tables and a really nice vibe. When you order you get a beeper so you know when your food is ready. We ordered a CC burger and loaded hammer fries to share. The burger was a bit small, but deliciously fresh! My husband said "wow" when he took a bite. I'm sure it didn't hurt that all food tastes amazing after a morning on the mountain. The hammer fries were super crispy and filling. I appreciated the quantity of toppings (particularly the bacon). Hammer fries are apparently a form of smashed potato, and a good candidate for a fork. I think the bill was $30 before tip which is a bit steep, but not for the base of a ski resort. read more

Counter Culture has just opened but is obvious that the founding team are pros. The service is friendly and helpful without being over solicitous. I had the CC burger on their recommendation and it was fantastic. The fries are well seasoned and crisp. They threw in a tiny Bundt cake that was surprisingly moist and light. Locally sourced ingredients. I enjoyed the CC burger and fries. Alittle surprised at the $17 cost for the burger and fries and this walkup counter restaurant, but the quality was excellent. They share outdoor seating with Telluride brewing. Only open since May, they replaced a restaurant I had enjoyed in the past. Past the gas station, inside a small business park, this area is so much easier to access than the center of Telluride. Look forward to returning. read more

I read a review that said this burger was the best they had ever had. That wasn't a lie, hands down the best burger I have had as well. The beef and bun were delicious, perfectly juicy and amazing flavor. We also got some of the fries, which were really good with sour cream. The views are also breathtaking as everywhere in this area. Only two minor downsides, it was a little chilly inside and there isn't much anywhere to sit. Luckily it wasn't busy when we went so we got a table but just know they only have two 4 people tables inside. read more

Found this new little spot today with family and was so impressed with the food and service. We ordered the cc burger, a basket of fries, 'eat your veggies' kids plate and the vegetarian grain bowl. Service was super friendly, and the food came out SO FAST, considering it was the beginning of the lunch ryay. Everything was DELICIOUS, the lawsome sauce with the fries was addictive (like a roasted garlic aioli). Even our 3 year old couldn't stop dipping! The burger was juicy, perfectly seasoned, great melty cheese and bacon ration and balanced out by the house made pickles and pickled onions- best burger we've had in years. On the healthier side the veg grain bowl was light and bright, hearty enough to serve as a meal on its own- and the Tay sauce elevated the dish from basic to great. I would eat it every day for Lunch!! definitely check this spot out if you're in the neighborhood- this place is a hidden gem!!!! read more
