Loved it here! I enjoyed it here so much that I came back 3 times. I was looking for a casual place for lunch, and I came across Cornerhouse Grille! It's conveniently located in town and near a few hiking trails. One of the times I went here I actually walked over after a hike. They have two outdoor patios, a back room, bar area, and front room... oh, and a bay window with more seating. This is a very popular spot for the locals. During the day it was very busy and a little noisy; I was glad there was outdoor space to eat as well. I tried their tea, burgers, chicken and fries. Everything I had here was delicious and fresh! We came in with a party of four and had a great experience. The place is casual and easygoing, perfect for a quick bite without feeling rushed. Service was friendly and our food came out fast. Counter ordering. Definitely recommend the tots -- crispy and perfectly seasoned! I had the Yucca, and it was delicious and super refreshing. Cool Little place with 4 or 5 tables in front a nice little side patio and an old school bar inside. I'm just going to say the burger was great, perfectly cooked and nice and juicy. We came to Cornerhouse on a chill Saturday afternoon. It was pretty empty and we got a nice seat outside in front. I think the side has better outdoor seating though. Service was alright and prices seemed okay for the area. I got a Ruben that was really good. The fries were stellar but it can be a bit heavy with a burger or sandwich. They did mention some substitutions like cole slaw but I'm picky with my slaw. The bar indoors isn't too big but it was busy. Seems like a good place to catch some sports games or party with friends. All in all, it was a good visit. I'd come back here again. read more

A absolutely beautiful day in Telluride, CO. The sun is out, light cool breeze and the water pouring off of Bridel Vail Falls. Nothing sounds better than lunch outdoors at the Cornerhouse Grille for a sandwich and fries. We ordered and sat out front under the Aspen trees. Our Reuben sandwiches, fried chicken sandwich and fries was delivered quickly. The Reuben was served on marble bread with melted cheese, kraut and dressing. There was an abundance of meat. The fried chicken sandwich was crisp and a hit dry. The fries were decent and not soggy. Overall, the food was good and a beautiful out front patio. If you are looking for a good lunch spot while in Telluride, Cornerhouse Grille is a good spot to try. read more

While we weren't able to enjoy many meals out in Telluride due to being swamped by movies. We did have a couple quick easy bites around town, surprisingly, Cornerstone Grill was the highlight. Who would have thought that sliders, wings, and fries would have hit so hard. Yes, this was the best meal of our trip and it was so unbelievably satisfying. This was just a really wholesome experience. College football was in full swing, we were sitting at the bar, listening to wild stories from the other patrons, yep this was a great time. It's a house made into a restaurant. We ordered the patty melt with tots and the pork pork pork with chili. Although both were very good, the patty melt was INSANELY good! Patty was cooked perfectly with grilled onions, cheese, and sauce on marble rye bread. The tots were fresh and crispy. Also love that they have a little sauce bar! AVOID! The woman at the register saw us standing at the bar to order and looked away to talk to a coworker, who also saw us and ignored us. After more than a couple minutes of awkwardly standing there being ignored, I whispered to my partner "it's like we aren't even here." And she then turned and said with attitude "what do you want to order?" My partner ordered tomato soup, which he liked. I ordered the cheesesteak which was mediocre. The cups and table were dirty. On the walk back from bridal veil falls we asked a guy in his yard what he recommended for a good burger and he said to head to the cornerhouse. It's off of Colorado so we avoided the crowds. Great tots and beer and pretty good burgers. This is obviously a place the locals go which was a plus. Went in for a late dinner at 8:30pm and sat at the bar. The bartender seemed a little short with me when I asked if I could get a little more time to decided on food. I had just learned that my daughter was in a car accident and I was naturally distraught and most likely not at my best but was not rude or disrespectful even when I asked for another glass that didn't have lip prints all over the rim. We ordered and ate and at the end of the meal the bartender asked if we wanted to close our tab and I said, "probably soon, but do you have pickle juice?" as I was interested in a shot with a pickle juice chaser and the response I got from her was, "you need to leave. You have given me an attitude all night." I was in shock. I hadn't even interacted with her besides for ordering a drink then asking for a clean glass and also to order my food. I turned to the guests next to me who were an acquaintance and they said that was really unexpected and uncalled for. My boyfriend and I had no idea what she was talking about and what went wrong. We frequent the Cornerhouse at least once a week and have always had good rapport with that bartender, even received ecstatic enthusiasm a few weeks ago when she learned we were fans of the same band. She comes back to give us the bill and I say, "I am sorry if I came off wrong ...." And I was going to let her know I had been crying and wasn't in the best mood but she cut me off and told me to leave and not come back and that I wasn't welcome there ever again. I asked why. What did I do to make you so mad? And she would not elaborate and told me again to leave and never come back and I again try to communicate with this person who I never thought had a problem with me but she kept yelling and saying I treated her poorly yet I did nothing nor could she say what I did. The food was ok. Didn't like the cole slaw in the fish and chips. This place is a two story house with the bottom floor dedicated to being the restaurant. On paper it's a cute idea. Though the execution is a bit lacking. The downfall was the young waitress who was very rude. She seemed to rather be hanging out with her friends than working. Quaint little hangout with a decent selection of food and beverages. Bf and I ordered veggie nachos which were just ok. I liked the nacho sauce on it. It also had rainbow tortilla chips and some strange homemade pita-like chips. Came with a side of guacamole, sour cream and salsa. Guac was weak- tasted like it came from a bag. Probably wouldn't order again unless I just needed a snack. Pinio Grigio was decent. The TVs could be a little bigger. The ambiance is very chill and service is always friendly. Unless you know where the Cornerhouse Grill is, you won't find it in Telluride. It's off of main St, a little bit up a hill. Love this place. It's definitely caters more to locals then tourists. The bar food is good, but it is bar food. The place isn't super large inside, but during the summer/warmer months, you can sit outside with you pup. They have a full bar with a rotating special beer selection. Didn't have any cider the day I went, but they usually do so it can be hit or miss with cider. If you are in Telluride, and you want some good bar food, defintiely stop by. It's not like the rest of telluride food establishments. read more

We were in town for a board meeting and had inquired about the best place in town for a burger. Corner House it was. This was Saturday. Our party of four walked in the door, the bartender, hostess said nothing. Didn't acknowledge our presence. First time there so we weren't sure if we sat ourselves. One of the men in our party finally asked how ordering worked. Reply: you order at the counter. What has happened to "welcome", "can I help you". etc. I mean you're in the service industry! She was also the one who delivered the food to our table. NOT a word! Not "can I get you anything else", "let me know if you need anything". If you hate your job, get out. What you don't realize is your lackadaisical attitude is hurting your employer and your co-workers. The food was decent. Drove here from AZ on the way home - stayed at the Telluride Hotel and this was the only open restaurant at 10:00 on a weeknight. The food was decent but one person was working the bar, running food and busing tables. The food runner is apparently under age and had a curfew. Having owned a restaurant and having worked it solo as required, I hope I never treated customers like this person treated us and others. Next time you are so overwhelmed, just shut it down and do your client base a favor before they leave too. Never again. read more
