What an amazing restaurant!!! If you're in the Telluride/Mountain Village area I highly recommend going to this restaurant for dinner! Although it is an extremely high-end food and service driven restaurant you do not need to go super dressed up you can be casual. However, it is a white tablecloth restaurant and the service and food exceptional with a wine list that is mind-boggling good! They also have one of the most spectacular views of the surrounding mountain ranges. I imagine more spectacular in winter when the mountains are snow covered. One day I'll find out! They offer a three course dinner consisting of an appetizer, dinner and dessert although you can certainly add extras which we did tonight. The crab claws were spectacular! They also have one of the best wine lists I have ever seen with prices ranging from $100.00 up to $5100.00+, our waiter and Sommelier were very personable and professional offering great advice on food and wine choices. The other fun thing about this restaurant is it is literally at the top of the mountain so you take the gondola up, get off and walk straight into the restaurant. The interiors are so perfect for mountain living!! The antler chandeliers are beautiful, all the woodwork and the stonework and the fireplace!! the giant windows so you can see all of the mountains around you. It's so beautiful and so romantic! We cannot wait to come back to Telluride and to this restaurant in particular read more

We chose Allred's to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday while vacationing in Telluride because of its outstanding reputation. There is no denying that the setting is spectacular. The gondola ride and panoramic mountain views are breathtaking and were, without question, the highlight of our evening. Unfortunately, the dining experience itself didn't live up to the reputation or the price. Our dinner for two, including gratuity, was approximately $325, and we expected the level of food, service, and attention to detail that comes with a premier fine-dining restaurant. The meal started with promise. The lump crab corn soup was creamy and flavorful, but despite its name, there was barely any lump crab. I found myself searching for it throughout the bowl. It was enjoyable, but I expected much more considering the description and the caliber of the restaurant. The hamachi crudo was also underwhelming. While it was beautifully presented, the flavors were forgettable and lacked the freshness and balance we expected. My boyfriend summed it up best when he said he wouldn't even rank it as "okay." Unfortunately, the entrées never reached the "wow" factor that so many reviews led us to expect. My Dayboat Alaskan Halibut was slightly dry, and while the fish was well seasoned, the accompaniments were so tangy that they completely overpowered the delicate flavor of the fish. My boyfriend's Pan Seared Elk Sirloin was cooked beautifully, but the purée served alongside it simply wasn't very good and didn't complement the meat. Neither entrée left us saying, "We'd come back just to order that again," which is exactly the feeling I hope to have after spending over $300 on dinner. Dessert was enjoyable, but it wasn't enough to change our overall impression. My boyfriend's Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake was the better of the two desserts, while my seasonal peach tart was pleasant but not particularly memorable. Like the rest of the meal, both desserts were beautifully presented, but the flavors didn't leave a lasting impression. The service also lacked the attention to detail expected at a restaurant of this caliber. Our server never brushed the crumbs from our table between courses, and although I had clearly noted on our reservation that we were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, no one ever acknowledged it with a simple "Happy Birthday." We weren't expecting a complimentary dessert or special treatment, but recognizing a special occasion is a thoughtful touch that many fine-dining restaurants consistently provide. The atmosphere was also disappointing. I understand Telluride embraces a relaxed mountain culture, but guests were dining in flip-flops, which took away from what should have felt like a special-occasion dining experience. Even more concerning, the woman seated next to us was vaping inside the restaurant. It became bothersome enough that I finally got up and politely asked her to stop myself. I was surprised that the staff never noticed or addressed it. Guests should never have to intervene in that situation. Overall, we left feeling that we paid for the incredible location and views more than the food or service. The scenery is unquestionably five stars, but the dining experience simply didn't justify the price. Allred's has a five-star view, but in our experience, the food, service, and overall atmosphere fell well short of the reputation that brought us there. read more

Called to see if they had tables available they said yes and offered no other information only for us to show up and find out that you can only sit in the dining room if you want to get the pre fix menu which is fine but they should tell you over the phone and show this on the website. So instead we are awkwardly shuffled into the bar and given one menu. Couldn't even focus on the options I hate when restaurants are a bait and switch with an uncomfortable atmosphere. The waiter then comes and doesn't introduce himself or say hello in anyway he just blurts out are you ready for wine? Keep in mind we are only allowed one menu so no I haven't had a chance to look at anything and you also lied on the phone to get us to take a trip up the gondola only to make us feel unwelcome. We decided to leave and hated every second of the experience. Coming from Los Angeles and having worked in restaurants for years they should look up the concept of modern fine dining where you offer a friendly relaxed environment while also providing exceptional food and service. This restaurant is a relic of a time where restaurants could treat you like trash and expect you to return. read more

If your visiting Telluride this is one of the spots you must visit. You take a gondola up through San Juan Mountains. Nestled at the top Of the mountain offers spectacular views from all seating areas. Extensive wine list. The Sommelier on staff was very helpful. We tried the "Tasting menu" - a 3 course menu with a wide variety of options. We began with Roasted Beet Salad -- frisée, arugula, goat cheese crema, pistachio-shallot relish, maple-cider vinaigrette. Highly recommend such tremendous flavors. For dinner had the Seared Halibut topped with soft shell crab was cooked perfectly sitting on a fried green tomato which added nice flavor to the dish. For dessert highly recommend trying the Sticky Toffee Pudding. consisting of a moist sponge cake covered in a toffee sauce and topped with cooked bananas and side of vanilla ice cream was simply divine ending to our meal. read more

Decided to go for a late dinner. Fun gondola ride to and from. We sampled the oysters and peppadew peppers (very surprisingly bacon forward) as starters then the cauliflower soup and beet salad for first course. For entrees we all got the halibut (which was delicious). Desserts were very good - crème brûlée and toffee pudding. And of course capped off with a flat liner. Service was solid (we had to ask for the bread, which was a delicious Foccacia) and the setting (including the views) were beautiful. Our only issue was that we booked thru open table and got an 8pm reservation. But nearly immediately somehow it changed to 745. Given it's a $109/pp credit card and penalty if you cancel in less than 24 hours, thought this scheduling thing was weird and it caused us to rush over. We inquired about this when we got there but they had no explanation. read more

What a great restaurant! The views are amazing looking over Telluride and the food was excellent. The only thing I would recommend as a patron is to ask how much their whiskeys are before ordering lol. I forgot to do so and was reminded that this is Telluride when I got the bill. :). We liked it so much we are going back for our 40th anniversary in June read more

Dined at All Reds for the first time last week and have already been back multiple times since! The service is impeccable. The sever's are knowledgeable, and very professional. The atmosphere in the restaurant is some of the best I've experienced. With a live musician, and a stunning view of telluride town, All Reds is in my opinion, a perfect restaurant for any occasion. And of course, the food was delicious as well. Their charcuterie board in particular has my heart. Same with the chicken. I almost never order chicken at restaurants, plainly because I like to explore more "adventurous" food. But, boy am I glad I tried it. The chicken was moist and the grits were just perfect. All in all, this is a very good restaurant that I would certainly recommend. read more

Beautiful restaurant on the way up the gondola from telluride to mountain village. Great views. Rustic cabin feel. Good service, nice staff. We opted for the 3 course meal ($109/person). Free bread with butter. The darker bread was ok but the focaccia with the butter was really good. Bread was unlimited Beef Carpaccio was just ok. Salad on top of it was refreshing and simple. Elk striploin was interesting. It had a very strong unique smoky flavor. It was good to try one time but I personally wouldn't get again. My bf liked it and said one time thing as well. It was well cooked for sure, just different. The sides were ok. The surf and turf was ok. Mashed potatoes, broccolini, steak and lobster cooked well, just ok flavoring Fruit crème brûlée was ok. Not super sweet Chocolate mousse dessert was not bad. Not a fan of the hard shell chocolate but everything else good. For my bday they put a candle on my plate with the dessert we already paid for lol Overall pretty fancy place. Good one time thing! They were having a newcomer special where everything except alcohol was 50% off which was super nice!! Hamachi was very tasty. 3-4 pieces but the Auguachile and everything was very tasty read more

A+ for views! But food was a C-. My husband ordered an expensive steak and ask for it rare. When the steak arrived it was medium/well. When you spend over $500 for a meal your food should come out how you asked for it cooked. My husband let the waiter know and he made no options on rectifying the problem. So with that...they get a D- for service. read more

I am very disappointed with this restaurant. I went two days ago, and for a dinner that cost $850, I had to send my wife's steak back for being severely undercooked. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I made another reservation for today, 5PM, the time they opened. We showed up early, they acknowledged, saw our name and checked us in. Then, people started showing up after us. The "homies", the hugs, the" hi, how are you"? The "omg, hola, como estas". After they sat three couples that showed up after us, I decided to leave. The lady in the front didn't even own it. Like, oh well, maybe we don't see your reservation....you saw my last name in the system and pronounced it. Anyway, if you want to spend over 500 on dinner and actually be seated and have your food cooked right, maybe go to another place. I will never return and tell everyone about my experience every chance I get. read more

We were really looking forward to this date night. The experience was mixed. The big room was fully packed, some table arrangements were made for larger groups. Some kids watched some shows on their iPads - which was quite loud. It did not feel like the price tag they request. The food was good, although my wife's steak came completely overdone first but they changed that quickly. Was it good? Yes. Outstanding? No. Since the view doesn't count after sunset, we can't take this into consideration. read more

Great restaurant and unbeatable location requiring a ski gondola ride up to enter! Got there right when they opened @4:45 (small secret!) and got the best table with total panoramic view of Telluride and the mountains beyond. Food was authentic cuisine prepared by a team of chefs/cooks that were not hidden behind a wall but visible to all as they did their magic in the rear of the main restaurant seating room. Service was perfectly timed as were timings of bringing out the meals. Due to popularity they state a two hour table limit but we finished in less than that without feeling any sort of pressure to leave at any point. They are currently using a 3-course price fix menu but within that many great choices. Definitely worth a visit when you're in the area. read more

My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful experience dining at Allred's. We were celebrating a special occasion and they made a point to celebrate us. The inside of the restaurant was lovely and the views were epic as the sunset over the San Juan Mountains. We will definitely visit again! read more

Allred's is an experience in itself because of the gondola that you have to take to get there! This restaurant sits on the ski mountain and the only way to get there is it travel by gondola. The atmosphere is so nice with the large entrance doors to the live music. We went at night and did not get to see the view from the top which was the only downfall of going for dinner. I'd recommend to go during the day or early dinner to take advantage of the view! The food was service were good, but not great. I'd say 8.5/10. The lamb shanks were a little dry and did not have that wow factor, although highly recommended by my service. The $200+ steak that my boyfriend got was a large portion, but a little bland. The desserts that we got were amazing though!! read more

This is a fantastic restaurant with impeccable service and a gorgeous view of the Telluride valley below. It is a short gondola ride from either Telluride or Mountain Village and the meal and the service are worth every cent. The menu consists of a "three course tasting menu" ($89 in October 2022) with numerous selections to fulfill everyone's taste buds. We started off with the mixed berry salad and the steamed pei mussels. The salad was made up of mixed greens and berries, goat cheese and pecans over a blackberry vinaigrette balsamic dressing. The mussels were served in a garlic-white wine broth with heirloom cherry tomatoes and a grilled baguette. The broth was amazing, and we sopped it up with the fresh baked bread at the table. For the second course, we all tried different items. We had the Alaskan Halibut (with olive oil marble potatoes and asparagus; light and flavorful!), the Beef Tenderloin and seared Sea Scallops (with crispy marble potatoes and broccoli, cooked perfectly) and the Elk Loin (marinated in a juniper-bourbon mixture with butternut squash risotto; amazing). It was definitely the best meal we had during out stay! For the third and final course, we chose three different desserts. The Creme Brulee, the Chocolate Mousse Cake and the Vegan Cheesecake. All were perfect compliments to the end of the meals and the Vegan Blueberry Cheesecake was an absolute surprise and an exceptional treat! The highest compliment goes to our server, Casey, who was professional, well-versed in the entire menu and a great conversationist. She did an outstanding job of keeping us entertained and giving us the appropriate amount of space to enjoy our three-course experience. Kudos to all!! read more

All wrong!!! I was recently at Allred's with a group of six and I was very disappointed in the food. It was giving a cruise ship/ all inclusive resort vibe. The food was mediocre at best. Allred's is a must try for almost all visitors to Telluride. The large rustic dining room with spectacular mountain views is worth the trip alone. The food is top notch, what they do they do well. Prix Fixe 3 and 5 course meal selections. All of the Colorado standards are on the menu - trout, lamb, elk, and bison. As you order, keep in mind the portions are large. The Hamachi appetizer was very good, light refreshing and a nice starter. Colorado Lamb Rack perfectly cooked -- 4 ribs was more than my wife could handle however. Desserts were very good. Nice all premium wine selection by the glass, so go for it, you are having a really good meal with a view. Our server, Shayka was friendly, helpful and gave solid descriptions of some of her favorites. Easy to see why Allred's remains a popular dining spot. read more

Absolutely to die for! This place is a must go when in Telluride! Take the quick trip up the gondola from either Telluride or Mountain Village and get off at the San Sophia station. We walked in and were immediately greeted and asked if we wanted to check our coats. We were seated at a table with a gorgeous view of the telluride city lights! For drinks, we got the spicy mule and another one I can't remember that had gin in it. Both very good! For food, it is a 3 course pre-fixe meal for $89 per person. We got the shishito peppers and croutons for the table. Croutons are a MUST!! For our first courses, we got the carpaccio, poke, hamachi, a salad, and mussels (there were 5 of us). The poke and mussels stood out to me! For entrees, we got the elk loin, tuna, pork chop, and sea bass! Everything was amazing and different. I thought my pork chop was the standout!! We ended with the third course of cheesecake, bread pudding, sticky toffee pudding, and crème brûlée. Luckily we had enough people to try them all! If you have to choose one, the sticky toffee was everyone's favorite! We will be back next time we are in town. read more

The two attendants for our table, Heidi and Wolfgang made sure our visit was perfect. They were attentive without being bothersome which is greatly appreciated and a bit of an art. The good spacing between tables, the large fireplace and floor to ceiling windows created the ambiance you would expect from a 5 star restaurant. Wow, wow, wow is all that I have to say about this spot! We recently visited Telluride and had our almost 2 year old + parents in tow, therefore, they were able to watch him one evening so that my husband and I could have a date night! What better choice than a restaurant on the top of a mountain with stunning views of Telluride and its surrounding beauty?! This gem is located at the top of the gondola station between Telluride and Mountain Village. I recommend going around happy hour/early evening so that you can watch the sunset and get the best views. During Covid/October they were offering a $65, 3 x course prix fixe menu which is a killer deal at this spot! We started will the cauliflower appetizer and it was crispy and delicious with a sweet soy sauce. For my 3 choices, I had their caesar salad, beef tenderloin, and a toffee pudding dessert. AMAZING. The salad was incredible with their homemade caper anchovy dressing (not too fishy) and crumbled hard boiled eggs on top (such a fun twist!). The tenderloin was melt-in-your-mouth good. Honestly one of the best steaks that I've ever had, over creamy mashed potatoes, asparagus and a delicious sauce. I was too full for my dessert, so you better believe that I took it home to enjoy for breakfast. Yes, please! If you're in Telluride, I 100% recommend Allred's and be sure to make your reservation before you even leave for your trip because they book out far in advance! We can't wait to return! read more

Best meal I have ever had! Food ambience and service 5 stars plus +++! Great views which just adds to the experience!

After coming into a great sum of money (it's called insurance fraud honey, look it up) and adopting a lifestyle my "friends" can't match - I've resorted to often dining alone. One can't give up life's finest pleasures just because *some* people (Stacy and Ben) are poor. So I did just that, at the bar. There's a 3 course pre fixe menu one isn't obligated to when sat at the bar, but it's there. There's a steak and fries option, hamburger etc. on the bar menu. But my eyes and my high value dollar were already set on the 3-courser. The yellowfin tuna was my first dish. Very good with the pickled cucumber. Like a sashimi type deal. The butternut squash risotto was perfectly under salted to give way to the higher flavor profile of the elk lion. Very good together with the chard and the squash crisp which was like the thinnest, crispiest potato chip ever. Dish well curated! After a glass of wine, and upon choosing dessert- I found myself being vulnerable with the bartender and told him I had had a lot of crème brûlée in my life and he indulged in my vulnerability and said "then get the sticky toffee pudding". I obliged. It was good. To be honest, not a combination flavors I haven't had before at other nice dining establishments but tasty none the less. The sponge cake was perfectly moist, only more moistened by the whipped cream and toffee sauce. There was a thin wafer type cookie with almonds on top that add a nice crunch as well. It paired nicely with a single shot of espresso. The check came, I cartoonishly yanked my collar at the bartender and he understood when I had to step away to open a new credit card. Jk, the price point was as expected. Okay, not being silly anymore now, the ride down from the restaurant on the gondola might have been my favorite part. The sun was just finishing setting and it was a beautiful ending to a great meal. Mountain village looked like Hogwarts at that time of evening. I spent the next 20 minutes going in circles around mountain village trying to figure out where I parked my car. 10/10 magical evening. read more

Allred's may have one of the best locations anywhere. The ambiance is outstanding with the entire focus being the incredible view overlooking Telluride and surrounding mountains. We truly enjoyed Allred's! The restaurant is located on the mountain at the St. Sophia Station. Weather is never an issue so long as the gondola is running. We arrived a little early and they sat us at a nice window table as requested. The views are fantastic. Service provided by Casey was friendly, helpful, flexible, and attentive. The menu is a 3-course fixed price. You can either do an appetizer, salad, entrée, or a salad, entrée, and dessert. We did each of those options. Highlights we recommend were the Caesar salad (very fresh), steamed mussels, Bison Ribeye (upgrade charge), and the Rhubarb Cobbler. The tuna entrée was also good, but way too spicy for my wife. She had to cut the outside layers off to enjoy. Prices were very reasonable, especially for such a nice restaurant in Telluride. read more

Offseason in Telluride, and staying in the mountain village (above town) - wanted a nice meal without the kids. Allred's was PERFECT! Food was great, service was over the top. Just a note - this time of year it is a $65 fixed price menu per person (not sure if it is just this time of year or all year 'round) so it isn't cheap. That said, I would Highly recommend it - you are in Telluride - nothing is cheap. We were there at night in the dark - I bet during the day or evening sunset is insane. Probably an epic view. (I included a photo I took earlier in the day from about the same spot) Here is what we had: Cocktails - the blood orange Mule was Awesome!! I am a Moscow Mule aficionado and this was top notch. (Not cheap though - $17) Starters - mushroom soup and mussels Main - I had salmon, she had halibut. Salmon was great, the halibut (with gnocchi and pesto) was Outstanding!!! Super. Get that for sure if it is on the menu. Desserts - Cream Brûlée....chocolate bread pudding with raspberries. Great. Only thing I would change would be to go when the sun was up and you get a view something like the last photo. read more

This is a special place. I love riding the Gondola to dinner. We are locals, and have been here a couple of times, twice at the bar, once in the dining room for the tasting menu. All of our experiences prior to this were good, not amazing, but good enough. This restaurant has a great, very well trained staff. The bartenders, Sommelier and servers are excellent. This time we sat at the bar and as always, the service was outstanding!!! The food... very close to being outstanding, just a couple of misses... My husband and I each ordered from the tasting menu. I started with the Himachi... incredible!!! Then I got the Bison T-bone steak, it's huge! A little too fatty for me, I was surprised that it was that fatty being a bison T-bone, but it was still delicious. The truffle potato was a little undercooked and no taste of Truffle which was disappointing, I want a truffle when the menu says there will be truffles! Oyster mushrooms were incredible and overall it was a good dish. My husband got the tempura Octopus, unreal!!! One of the best things I ate that night! And then he got the Elk loin, we get that quite often, they really nail that dish here. And the deserts... oh my! I got the sticky toffee desert and it was epic, my husband got the crème brûlée, and it was delicious. Overall, a fabulous experience! Thank you to the Sommelier, the bartenders, and just everyone who shows up to make Allreds such a special experience! Cheers, we will see you soon! read more
