"Wait to be Seated" and I did 25 minutes, although there were plenty of open clean tables. The host told me my server would be with me, he came by shortly with water, silverware, and menu. Didn't ask if I wanted anything to drink while waiting. Took 20 minutes for him to come back. I ordered the Fry Bread Biscuit and Gravy and a cup of coffee. Best thing about the breakfast were the potatoes, they were actually very good. Sliced almost like potato chips and cooked all the way through. Never saw the waiter again. No coffee refill, no "how I'd everything" I finally went to counter. Stood at counter for good 10 minutes. Cashier came by asked if I had paid already, told him "no" He then asked if I had my bill, told him "no" He then found my bill which I paid, and then left. Hidden gem in the Navajo land. Stopped in for lunch for our first taste of Navajo Tacos and they did not disappoint! Inside was an authentic Navajo vibe. The service was prompt and the tacos were awesome. I had the pork carnitas Navajo taco which included pork, lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapeños and on the side was sour cream and some awesome garlicky tomato salsa. Had such high hopes for this adorable looking restaurant. The service was really. Really. Realllllly slow. The poor waitress was super stressed and overworked. 20 min to sit down. 40 min to take our order. The menu looks great and many dishes appeared to be homemade but omg I was left wondering about the disarray of the kitchen based on how disorganized the front of house was. Don't miss this place for the spectacular rock formations but sadly, there was no ambiance inside and the service was sketchy. However, the food was pretty good. Twin Rocks Cafe is not the type of restaurant I would generally choose, but out here there is no choice, so we happily pulled in. Expectations were low. It's an old style cafe that serves breakfast all day, along with regular lunch and dinner items. After a meaningful wait we ordered, and after another pause, the food arrived. We had a bacon and eggs dish and a Cesar salad with chicken. The breakfast plate was fine and came with fry bread, a local treat. The salad was disappointing, with burnt chicken and no anchovies, although the menu promised them. On the positive side, the view was great and the staff friendly, and the menu included some local specialties. I stop here whenever I drive through Bluff. Absolutely delicious. I always get bacon, eggs, potatoes, and fry bread. Didn't get coffee this time, because no coffee is worth $6. Service is always good and fast. I have never eaten better scrambled eggs. The fry bread with butter and homemade preserves was so good. As soon as you drive up, the sight of the Twin Rocks is breathtaking and you're met by a huge parking lot with a rock/gem shop on the left and the restaurant on the right. On our Utah-Colorado journey we were going with the local food offerings and ordering Navajo Tacos from every place we visited. I didn't get a picture of mine because it was so delicious I couldn't put down my food to pickup my phone to snap a photo. Everyone in our party enjoyed their breakfast. I ordered a breakfast bowl which was scrambled eggs with veggies on a very hearty bed of potatoes. The read salsa on top was not spicy but still pretty flavorful. Coffee was hot, and good. They have soda in cans. No alcohol served so some of the table couldn't get their Bloody Mary's which to them was disappointing. Other than that everything was good. This may be the only restaurant in Bluff, Utah, but I'm glad we stopped in there on a Saturday for lunch. I ordered the mushroom burger and side salad, the salad was really big and full of good ingredients besides lettuce. I was half full after eating, the salad, and the burger was huge also. It had a ton of mushrooms, cheese, good lettuce, and tomato and pickles on it, all on a homemade bun. It was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. read more

UGH! At the restaurant right now and we waited 15 minutes to order our drinks and took another 15 to get them. Every booth still has dirty dishes on them and an old German couple ended up clearing and cleaning a table themselves. Navajo Taco was ok, but the one from a Four Corners trailer was much better. On our way from Monument Valley to Moab, we passed the small town of Bluff. We were taken a back by the beautiful wind swept bluffs that surrounded this mission town. The cafe had twin rocks over the restaurant and trading post. We were surprised by the menu which had foods with local flavor and Native American Cuisine. I had been wanting to try Indian Frybread, so I ordered the Bear Ears which were scrambled eggs with fresh veggies and Queso cheese, two pieces of Frybread in the shape of bear's ears! The bread was delicious and reminded me of sort of a puffy Naan bread. Dave had the blueberry corn cakes that were pancakes made out of blue corn meal, covered by wild blueberries and pumpkin seeds. What a delightful experience! There is a trading post next door full of beautiful Native American merchandise. Best place we've eaten in the area, about halfway on the drive between Monument Valley and Mesa Verde NP. Breakfast is served all day (they only open for breakfast and lunch though) with both sweet and savory options. They also sell a few local items like Blue Bird flour for fry bread, corn meal, and hot sauce. They serve beer and wine, nothing fancy but nice to have that option. This place has good service, although a little slow. I like that they give you fresh and cold spring water for self serve and the indian bread dishes were pretty good. It was my first time having it so I have nothing to compare it to. But it does remind me of a type of bread from India mixed with taco fillings or bbq fillings.
