Okay. This visit was as good as the first visit. Sat me and took my order right away. Miso soup was good. Not watery. As usual.. they took my order and wanted the tip in advance. Told the server about my bad experience from the last two visits and would leave a cash tip when I'm done. He said the. Tip needed to be paid with the bill, and he would insure that I would experience excellence this time. Yes, this visit was excellent. I hope I don't have to mention this everytime I visit. He also showed me how to turn down the fire, but preferred that I ask one of the servers. Next time if they forget me or my order, to bring it to their attention right away. I shouldn't have to be watching to make sure I wasn't forgotten.
I understand the hype of Yakiniku Like! When I went here to have dinner with my friend we both got one of the monthly specials and it was a good amount of food for the price! The set we ordered came with some sort of thinly sliced beef and chicken, and I liked all the sides- it made the meal more filling. They also bring your order out really fast! The meat was pretty good quality and I appreciated that the portion was just right without having to worry about getting your money's worth like at an AYCE bbq spot. This place is definitely worth checking out for your Yakiniku fix!
Late lunch with coworkers and this long awaited visit was met with high marks! Had to work an event downtown and were on the hunt for a place that was still open for lunch well past two pm. Spotted this place (which we'd been meaning to visit) and were happy to see they don't close between lunch and dinner! It was well laid out with tables, a small grill to share, and sauce bottles between tables to share (they try to bring you new bottles between guests, as they tend to get sticky between uses). They will take down menu screens between the conjoined aisle if you have a group larger than two. Otherwise, there are four-top (or more) seating areas against the walls, where two guests are on cushioned stools and the other two are seated on the cushioned bench. From the entrance, there are seating areas on the left and right. There was a party on the right side, so I initially rated the noise level as loud. However, on the left where we were seated, even as guests kept on arriving (for even later lunches or early dinners), it was nice and quiet! The initial thrill was the February special, which the gals ordered - ONLY $9.95 for 150 gms kalbi and a free serving of chicken teriyaki; unlimited rice (I never finish mine at other meals, but this time, I ate a tad more than one big bowl!), a well filled miso soup with goodies in it, green salad (with cukes and grape tomatoes, and a choice of yuzu or sesame dressing-we loved the sesame - and later, another guest said the Yuzu was also great on the meat-so we'll ask for that next time!); and a bowl of Kim Chee! The boss ordered the $15.95 special, with 200 gms kalbi and 100 gms chicken teriyaki and the same sides we were offered in the $9.95 set. Each of us ate our entire servings, and shared the boss's "one more free rice bowl", congratulating ourselves on such a great choice to visit, with guarantees that we're coming back for our birthday lunches! (Okay, I did give some of my food to the boss, because I was quite full!) The seasonings/ sauces included a lemon juice, garlic soy, spicy sweet, and salt and pepper. Boss tried them all, my co worker also enjoyed the salt and pepper, and I loved the garlic soy and spicy sweet sauces. And yes, I poured the garlic soy sauce on my rice, and with my meats, resulting in my unusual rice bowl wipeout. They do have beverages and desserts, see the fun menu! Dinner must be awesome-we've seen the line out the door after work! Oh, and they even have a curry sauce add on due $2.50. Service is truly attentive with frequent water refills and check ins, too! Heard the tonkotsu garlic ramen is also good (when we went back to the office to tell others of the great experience, LOL they'd already been there several times)! Restroom keys are at the entrance, restrooms are out the door to the left, there were two stalls in the women's rr, which was bright and clean. Orders are taken and payment is made via a handheld device prior to dining. Easy peasy, and Mahalo to the boss for treating us after our very successful, but long day at the event downtown! See the pics, and we're already planning our return!
Dinner on a budget? Yakiniku Like is where to go! Genuinely surprised at how reasonable the prices are for some of the sets here. I found it really interesting that you pay for your food first to order and then they bring it to you. Service was quick, quality of the meats was pretty good, and they have a good array of sauces to choose from on the side. There's a small parking lot out front but I believe it shares the lot with the massage place and Domino's next door. There's street parking around the area as well. I liked that since you paid first, it's a quick exit to get out after you're full hehe
Here's a new place to try! New and different from Gen's and Sikdorak. It's off the corner of Keeamoku and Young Street. You can't miss it. Dining is like what you see in Japan where you sit and you're separated by cut off sections. Can't describe it but it's pretty cool. We were welcomed and serviced by Angelo who was so nice and friendly. The ordering of food is easy... scan q card it's by sets, Ala carte and separates and pay by card. They don't take cash. Once paid then the order goes in and quick your served. Wow! It's so cool. You can order more if you'd like but then have to pay by card again which we didn't mind. Then once you're done you can leave. This place is great for date night and girls night out.
A friend recommended this great yakiniku place on Keeaumoku close to Beretania. We went there ahead of opening time and there was already a line before 11:00 a.m. That was a sure sign. Parking is limited so try to park around the area or carpool. We ordered the mega special currently on sale. It came with ban chan, excellent quality rice and incredible beef and pork belly cuts. You grill it yourself and all the sauces are killer good! You order off of the the menu link from the QR code on the table. Everything is promptly brought to your table and you're set to grill! If you don't make time to stand in line to go here, you will be missing out on not only really good yakiniku but also a great deal!!
I love this place!! Very affordable for the same price you would pay for a decent platelunch you could get a great yakinuku meal and if you get their special for $9.95 (different special each month) even with tip it would be cheaper than a plate lunch plus sometimes its fun to cook and eat. The staff is always on point and mostly young adults which is refreshing to see the younger working with a great service attitude. I always enjoy coming here. The only issue is parking is always mento but cant have everything but its all good!!
It was our first time here and the staffs were all so nice. Oh my gosh! The MEAT was soooo good and of great quality. Very juicy and soft regardless of it you got it with or without sauce. We were lucky to come in during their "February Specials" because the portion was great size and value! We ordered 5 sets for 4 people haha (almost 6 if we count all the small additional items) The atmosphere was nicer than I imagined. It was nicely lit and not too bright, and the interior was mostly black colored with some wood. Very cozy yet it has a lively ambience. Casual yet feels fancy. PS: Daniel was so awesome and he let us try 2 orders of meat on the house. This small gesture sealed the deal for us to come back again with more people. Thank you so much!
This is one of the newer yakiniku restaurants on Keeaumoku that's located in the old Green Papaya (and iykyk, old Champions). Parking is limited with a very small lot but there is street parking and nearby options if needed. There's no reservation system; you walk in, write your name, party size, and wait. When we arrived, there was no one at the front, no greeting. Eventually, a server came by, checked the list and called our party. Once seated, there was no explanation on how this restaurant operates. No welcome, no "have you dined with us before", nothing. We had to observe the table next to us to figure it out. Everything is done digitally; you scan a QR code, order on your phone, and pay immediately on your phone (note: they don't take cash). The biggest issue was the grill. Ours kept turning off and instead of moving us, staff repeatedly kept coming back just to turn it on. At one point, they gave up and said they'll wait till the food comes to turn it on and the grease from the meat will keep the fire going. As for the food, prices are cheap for yakiniku, and you get what you pay for. I ordered the January special ($9.95). While the photo made it look generous, the portions were small, like 3 pieces of teriyaki chicken and very thin sliced kalbi, small. The meat quality was decent, but the small portions and unreliable grill made the experience unenjoyable. We also found ourselves stressing about making sure the chicken was thoroughly cooked. Service was very minimal and lacked warmth. No real check-ins, no asking if we needed anything, and some staff seemed annoyed when issues came up. The main positive is the ambiance: the restaurant is clean, modern, and visually appealing. This restaurant seemed to be designed for a fast turnover rather than a relaxed sit-down meal. I would only recommend it if you're on a budget, want minimal interaction, and need a quick yakiniku fix.
Come here for a nice affordable meal, but also expect a wait. I was here with a party of five, and we waited about thirty minutes given how busy this place was. Given this place's busyness, I expect it to be really good. Yakiniku Like has a lively atmosphere, perfect for a Friday evening with friends celebrating the end of the workweek. There was an October special (when I visited in October) which was a genuinely and surprisingly good deal. I however wanted more meat to try so I got a beef lover's set. It is very fun to grill here, and you must grill your own meat, hence yakiniku (焼肉). The grill setup is a bit different from what I am accustomed to with, but still user-friendly and good for cooking your meat. Service was quick, but I guess it should be since you are cooking the rest of the meal yourself.
Came here to try the 9.95 special and it comes with a lot of food! You order via QR code and service was really fast. The entree set came with miso soup, salad, rice and kimchi. I highly recommend adding the curry on the side to eat with your rice and adding sesame oil on the side was delicious! You can definitely order more meat ala carte if you are still hungry but the day meal filled me up and I didn't need to order more. If you are a big eater or starving, I'd recommend ordering more or getting ramen at the end to fill yourself up
Food affordable and tastes great. The monthly specials is the good deal. Highly recommend their monthly specials. Staff are friendly and service good. Place is clean, especially the grill. You place your order by scanning the QR code on the table and then paying it. This includes tips. First time paying for a meal and tips before getting the food.
Came during lunch on a Friday and no wait. Got the monthly special which came with two options of meat. Only $10!! Such a great deal and a decent amount of food. So tasty and I love how you can customize with the sauces. Comes with kimchi, miso soup, rice, and salad. Oh and if you come during lunch rice is unlimited. Location it is across the street from Cosmo. Parking is either street or in the small lot in front of the shops. It can get full. Service is pretty much all digital. Scan the QR code and they bring the food. You have to pay first before you finish the ordering process. Food. I feel like it is like a fast yakiniku place if you can catch my drift. You can eat by your self or as a group. I think that's how the menu is designed. Comes with multiple sides. Kim chee, side salad, Miso soup and Rice. Meat was okay quality but wasn't frozen. Unfortunately the price of the food for the amount you get compared to other places. But if you like a quick grab and go yakiniku for lunch or dinner with almost no interaction on ordering it's fine. read more
Came here with a friend during their grand opening and I liked the expeditious process. Checked in on the laptop, once seated we ordered food via barcode, paid for food, food is delivered, cook and eat food, and leave when done. I was fairly hungry and ordered the double meat, which I found to be a decent quality for the price. They have parking, but limited. I believe street parking is free on Sundays and p.m. read more
Went to try the grand opening of this brand new yakiniku place. This place is a good place for having lunch for the worth price. I took my mom on a Saturday, and she wants to come again. Far warning, you can't eat then pay. At this restaurant, you have to pay and then eat. And pay for the kitchen service. Everything is on the phone. read more

First time here. You must order on the QR code, pay and tip before you will get your food. We came in about 315 pm and it was busy but not overcrowded. We sat at a half booth and the other side had 2 stools ( hard stools no padding or backing), wish there was booths. After we placed the order, our food was brought out. The wait staff is a little slow on refilling water, we had to catch them. They did not check on tables. The food was worth the money. Free chicken was given but cut a little too big took long to cook on the grill. Had to turn the temperature down because the meats were burning too quickly. We noticed a dog in the restaurant sitting on a stool and the lady was feeding the dog with a plate and spoon. Did not think that was very sanitary and the staff did nothing about it and it was not a service dog it was like a poodle type of dog. Very strange to witness that at the table across from us. read more
GRAND OPENING! Great spot. Spacious inside seating and pretty quick seating after signing in. Order by the QR codes only and pay first. For the grand opening they had a really great special ... the Kalbi Short Plate & Harami for only $9.95! Delicious! We viewed the menu for the other options but couldn't pass up this deal. Sapporo and wine, soda and juice options for beverages. Not on the menu but near the register I saw a couple of bottles of Hibiki so maybe that is to come in the future! Free parking in front, or down the street (Young St entrance) there is a paid lot for overflow. read more

SUPER QUICK SERVICE! Came in at 6:15 PM on a Thursday night and got my food by 6:22 PM. You scan a QR code, order through your phone, pay on your phone, and they expedite the heck out of your food. I am so impressed. Tricky thing is if you go with a group, the table space starts to get limited. So be mindful of that. Of the opening set, the Harami was excellent. Possibly my favorite cut of the meal. The Kalbi short plate is as my least desirable cut of meat. It was tough, chewy, and I would not order this again. Of the ala cart meats, the tongue was great. The top round beef and skirt steak was also great. My friends enjoyed the pork belly and other cuts of meat ordered. But again, the consensus was that the kalbi short plate was tough and chewy. On the table, there is a community section of sauces. A tare, lemon, and spicy sauce. Please remember not to hold onto the sauces as it's shared with the rest of the table. yakiniku Like is honestly one of the best deals in town. The food comes out fast, the meat is solid for the price, and you get your own little grill which makes it super fun. For ten bucks, you really can't beat it -- it's the perfect quick meal when you're craving yakiniku without spending a lot. Huge shoutout to Daniel, the manager. He's seriously the best -- super friendly, helpful, and always makes the experience better. You can tell he actually cares about the customers. Overall, great spot, amazing value, and Daniel makes it even better. Highly recommend. read more

First time trying this restaurant, amazing food and very reasonable price especially if you get their special of the month. We got the Mega Set which is kalbi short plate 7oz and USDA prime sirloin 3.5oz. The waiter who helps us very friendly and helpful. This restaurant must have a good ventilation because my hair wasn't smells at all after eating (like many other bbq places) that's a plus for me. Definitely going back to eat here again. read more
Tldr; good, fast, get a set for best value. Grill fatty meat first and grill a batch and eat after bc anything left on the grill will burn. Have been meaning to try this place for a while and since the line has died down a bit we finally got to check out the super affordable sets I've been seeing all over instagram! We arrived a bit late to the lunch rush, at about 130, and though there were a few groups ahead of us the queue moved pretty quickly. You order and pay through the QR on the table, and our food arrived soon after we ordered. Staff are efficient and still very nice, I nearly tipped over the miso soup and they quickly got me some extra napkins to clean up. I also have to say it's super clean (at least for now, its pretty new) no stickiness, no oily floors, and it isn't smoky at ALL inside! Most of the time I have to wash my hair, face, everything after grilling. Just a heads up, the grill is HOT and the meats are super thin. We burned a few to crispy beef jerky before getting the hang of it. Best to grill in small batches and then eat (except the chicken) so you don't get distracted and burn everything on the grill. The screen also doesn't seem to be pregreased, so start with the fatty cuts to get it oily and prevent the leaner cuts from sticking and shredding apart. Once we got the hang of it, it was great! The beef is delicious and good quality. They have a few sauces like garlic soy, spicy chili, and chili oil, but just salt and pepper was enough since the meat was good. The sets are a pretty good value, I got the happy hour ramen and kalbi set, my fiance got the $9.95 November set and we got a small beef tongue and harami ala carte to share. The sets are a good value, the ramen set was very filling. The 9.95 set was satisfying, but my fiance still wanted a bit more even after sharing the harami and tongue. The ala carte stuff adds up very fast and is pretty small--I think the sets are definitely the way to go. Ah, and out of sheer bad luck...somehow in our order of shishito peppers, I got ONLY the spicy ones and they burned for so long I almost cried lol my fiance ate half and none of hers were spicy! Id definitely return for lunch. I think had we not waited so late to eat the portions would be perfect. read more
LOVING THIS!!! I'm glad my sister introduced me... with the July special of $10 who could ask for more. It was so good I came the next day with hubby. First, they are located across the street from Hale Pawa'a on the Keeamoku St. side. Parking is limited as it shares the space with Pizza Hut and a massage spa. Next, it's a first come first serve so you may want to call ahead OR be there early when they first open. That's how we do it...don't expect not to wait if you come during prime times here. Then, their staff has been really friendly and the restaurant is clean and bright. There are partitions for small groups on a community table and of course, limited large party tables so plan accordingly. Now, let's get the most important part... the food... Well, with a July deal of $10 which includes a big bowl of rice, small green salad, miso soup and kimchee...then the meats- 100g of kalbi short plate and 50g of Premium Gyutan. But if you have a bigger appetite then definitely there's more to choose from and to add one like their Double, Triple and Beef Lovers set. If you want to add veggies (which I love- like mushrooms, onions, and zucchini which are so economical and generous). Like $3 zucchini, isn't that awesome? My husband loved the corn and cheese but likes butter more. Either way, really economical. You can even add cuts of meet like teriyaki chicken and pork belly and don't forget the skirt steak if you're still hungry. Everything was filling and delightful. The neat thing is you can pay it all after you place your order so you can leave after and not wait around the bill. Bon appetite!!! read more

Every Friday for the past 4+ weeks have been having lunch and meetings here. At 1pm usually got lucky and a couple of stalls available for parking. If no parking is available we wait on the side for about 5 minutes until someone leaves and pull into a stall. Walking into a new looking restaurant and sometimes there is a short wait for a table depending on the crowd. Host turns on the burner and brings us ice water. You order through a QR code and pay before the food comes. That is really convenient since no wait time for the check after. Full set including meat to cook, rice ( free refills) , miso soup ,salad and kimchee. All for $10. Lots of sauces and salt, pepper to put on the meat is located on the table. Wow, nice deal! Aak to sit in Daniel's section for 5 star service. Hurry in before this deal is over! Yes, coming here again for sure. read more

It's a lot more spacious than I expected, compared to the ones in Japan. Menus are similar, except they charge for everything hah. The sauce plate was somehow both wet and dusty. I ordered the beef lovers set. When it arrived, everything was smothered in sauce. Everything. They forgot one of the 3 meats in the set, and brought it out like 10 minutes later. We asked them why every meat was smothered in sauce when the menu photos all have no sauce at all? They said they don't know, then just said that's how the company likes the photos for the menu...? It would make a lot more sense to serve what the photo shows, considering that there isn't even a description that says anything about sauce. And it was very overwhelming. There were sauces on the side but you can't even use them because it's already so sauced and doesn't complement. Service was a bit iffy. It felt like high school kids judging and laughing at us. When we asked the girl about the meat being covered in sauce, she turned to ask her coworker and he just laughed and said "they wanted just plain meat?" The quality and chew of the meat was decent, just wish I could actually appreciate the meat instead of the marinade/sauce. It's a very solid chain, in Tokyo. Here, not worth a visit at all. read more

Came for the $10 monthly specials with 100g kalbi short and 100g top blade and a happy hour special 200g of kalbi short with ramen for $16. In the $10 the kalbi short was good I liked the sauce with a little char, the top blade alright but pricing too good to not get it. The happy hour special price changed right at 830 when you order on your phone. The ramen was okay but it basically was free during the happy hour time period (the kalbi short combo is already $16). A la carte we ordered the harami and the beef tonuge. The harami is on par with gyu kaku but you get more and its cheaper. Eating it with the sweet sauce was the best thing at dinner. Cons When they first opened they had premium beef tongue and it was the best beef tongue I've had in any bbq place. However they only have one gyutan labeled as premium gyutan but im pretty sure its the regular one since the price is $3 less than it was before. The tongue now was pretty slightly more chewy and not the same premium as when they first opened, I hope they bring back the real premium tongue! I probably wouldn't go just for the happy hour unless you want free rice refills, we didnt make use of the rice refills. Happy hour deal saves you $5 if you want ramen but i wouldn't miss the ramen. I wish you could control the grill temperature, I dont think kyou can mess with the grill temp like at gen, our grill got a little hot at some points and since the grill pan is just thin wires the meat can burn easier. Overall 4.5 As long as they keep up the monthly specials this place is great and I'd come back for the deals. Our bill was $60 something with tax and tip, and kitchen fee. read more

Went to Yakiniku Like because they were running $9.95 specials to try them out. I got the Kalbi Short set as expected for the price there wasn't much (100g) but I was hoping at least that the meat was softer it was a bit tough but otherwise everything else was good although the Kim Chee was mediocre. Service was excellent they were very quick and attentive. Parking gets a bit tight as quite a lot people are still trying them out. Would I go again? maybe. read more
Four and a half stars!!! This was a suggestion from a friend because I said I wanted something on the more economical side. I always like to find a "bargain" when it comes to eating out! It's was right on Keeaumoku street and there is parking on the side. I'm glad for that. We went early, more like 4:30 pm early to make sure there weren't many people nor a wait time. It was perfect timing also because I skipped lunch that day. The staff was all friendly and it's super convenient. You scan the QR code at the tables, you order, and you pay! From the moment I scanned and paid the food came out rather quickly. We got our dishes and it was a decent amount for one person, but an excellent choice for the price. $10 for a teishoku meal is unheard of. They have this as a grand opening special. Mind you, don't expect tons, but if you're a smaller eater, it will suffice. Bowl of rice, a bowl of salad, miso soup, and your meat that your grill in front of you. They will clean the grill if it's too dirty and they are all so kind. They have many different choices of meals you can get for not too bad a price!! I mean, if you're hungry just buy two teishoku meals for $20. Excellent. Grilled meat is always tasty so there were no complaints from me. No frills, no side pickles, and it was all great and finished to the last grain of rice. read more
We visited Yakiniku Like today after seeing posts on Social Media. The draw was the Grand Opening special set menu. Miso soup, rice, kimchi, Harami steak and Kalbi steak. We entered and were taken to our spot on these long counters with grill tables. We have to scan the QR code to place our order and pay before the food order goes in. The app doesn't like my Android Phone (Pixel 8) so it would not allow me to order more than one special. I had to use my companion's iPhone to be able to place our order. I ordered 2 salads, 1 extra plate of Harami and 1 extra plate of Kalbi. We could have done without the extra meat. The meat cooks really fast, seconds. I paced our meal so that the meat was hot when we were ready to eat more. The restaurant is clean and there are baskets under the table to place your handbags and. messenger bags Definitely a good experience to talk cook and eat. Went here for the August Lunch special (11am-4pm) food was Ono and Service was excellent! Can't go wrong With the $9.95 Kalbi set. And just a little FYI... Go early, it will get busy and parking is a limited. Also don't forget to order the Curry to put on your rice. read more

Really enjoyed my experience here! Came today on the grand opening April 1st around 2:30p. We didn't have to wait since we came very early and inside was very nice and huge! It was very chill. It wasn't to noise or quite. To order you Scan the QR code to open the menu and you order your food on the page and pay on the page as well. It makes things easier for us! There's a lot of set menus to choice from and other different kinds of meats available as well! They also serve alcohol as well if you're wondering. Since they having a grand opening special we got the deal $9.95 with other add on meats as well! Food came out very fast and the portion was enough for me! The set came with rice, pickled cabbage, salad, miso soup and your meat. Gotta say everything was delicious and enjoyed my time. The workers were very nice and welcomed us and helped us on the menu as well. I would definitely come back for sure! Really loved it here! There isn't much parking but on the other side of the building on young street there's a paid parking area where you can also park. It's $2 an hour. read more

I am a KBBQ lover and will admit this place has some good deals. But I will say if you can put it away, this spot might not be for you. We went on a Wednesday around 2:30pm and it was empty. We were seated immediately and scanned the QR code to order and pay. Our food came out immediately. I ordered the combo 3 meat set with the Kalbi short plate, Gyutan (beef tongue), and sliced pork. I definitely recommend the pork and kalbi short plate. For me, the set with soup, salad, and a side of kimchi with my Sapporo was just enough to make me feel content. But for someone like my boyfriend, this might not be the best option since he loves his protein and could probably finish two portions of the meat I had.. I really wanted to try this place after all the social media posts. Went a few times and left cause of parking and refuse to pay for parking across the street. Finally got a parking today and got to try since their opening specials are still going on. It's a little pain on ordering for those not tech savvy. Everything is cashless so scan QR code order and pay from there then your order will come out. Next to us a group had issues but the waiter had a backup reader and took their card payment so ask for help if needed. Overall food was just ok 2.5-3/5 for me. For the 9.95 price it was good, at regular price no. Super thin cut meat over cooking or med rare was still very chewy. Kim chee included tasted like halms Kim chee. Toss salad and dressing was ok. I wouldn't mind coming back if portions were bigger on their normal menu items. Other than that was just ok, no wow factor for me sadly. Cool to experience a new place though read more

Arrived here around 5:30 on Friday. Small Parking lot in front was full but there is a public pay lot just a block down Young St. There were about 30 people waiting. The hostess said it would be a 30 minute wait and she was close. It was 35 minutes. Large parties are a hassle since it's pretty small and I saw a party of 5 get split up. The inside looked very nice with a modern feel. Service was fast with ordering and paying on the phone. I don't like the fact that you tip before you experience the service. At least it was fast. My food came writhing a few minutes of ordering. I ordered the opening special and it was a good size portion with the rice, salad, and miso soup.
