My A/C stopped working this past week when the temperatures really started to climb. I called around to get it fixed on Thursday and several of the companies I called were scheduling appointments for the next MONDAY- NOT GOOD as this was going to be a hot weekend, too. I asked around work and a colleague said that he had used Angie's List to find Yaeger Services, had used them and was convinced that they did a great job, were reasonable in price and most importantly: Were HONEST. I called them about 3pm and they said they could not come on this day, but would schedule me for the next day between 11:00-1:00. I explained that I would be at work and would leave the sliding door open for them. They said I could send in a check for the work. I am thrilled with what they did. they left a complete and detailed invoice. They left instructions on how make a few changes so that the A/C would work more efficiently. Most Important is that the A/C was completely fixed and they left the cylinder for me to see as what had been replaced. They also put more insulation on the outside pipes and replaced the filter. Our townhome association has the most unusual of air conditioning systems. Companies struggled to service them and no one wanted to take on the responsibility and challenge of replacing a unit. For years, I had a contract with another AC/heating company which included a bi-annual check-up of my systems. On the last check-up, their rep showed me pictures of broken air ducts and claimed that they were mine. He wanted upward of $2,000 just to repair them. I told him that I would think about it. On the first hot day of the year our older A/C system stopped cooling. Yaeger came as a recommendation from our neighbor so we gave them a call and they came out same day to diagnose the problem. After testing, it was determined that the system could not be salvaged and would need to be replaced. We received a quote from them to replace our system and while it seemed a little high on the surface they came through in the end. The attention to detail in the installation provided for additional vents, a new chase, and a repair to a vent that hadn't worked in years. The new A/C has kept the house cooler than ever, and we couldn't be more pleased. We were also able to add a whole house fan at the same time, and I've already really appreciated how it can ventilate the house quickly. We were one of the 5000 people who's AC units crashed during the first major heatwave of the year, and they were able to fit us in on a Saturday morning and literally save us from the crazy heat. Herb was nice and professional and quite kind as he showed me what my air filters looked like (giant masses of compressed dirt) and what they should look like when they're clean. He told me I could use disposable ones or clean the reusable ones as well as clean the condenser coil easily myself (and showed me how) or I could have them do it on a service call several times a year, which to me shows so much integrity and honesty. read more

We had an appointment with them this week and they told us they could not come for additional week due to priority jobs they had. My guess the priority is that jobs they had brought more money. I wanted to wait a month or so to see how well my new air conditioning and heating system performed before writing this review. I had been limping my old system along for a few years and finally decided to bite the bullet. Yaeger Services came highly recommended and the recommendation lived up to expectations. John did a careful analysis of my old system before making his initial recommendations and Matt followed up with the engineering. I ended up with a complete system redesign including a new 4-ton AC unit, relocating the forced air unit from the garage to the attic, and creating a zone system with separate controls for my up and down stairs. The crew Yaegers assigned to the job was fantastic. They did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. How many contractors can you say that about? Their workmanship and cleanliness was outstanding. Most importantly the new zone system works really well. I can't be more pleased. As you might expect, the new system was expensive but I believe Yaeger's price was exceptionally fair. They say "you get what you pay for" and in this case I feel I got everything I paid for and with great service on top. FYI - For some reason Yelp shows me in San Francisco. Not so. Had Yaeger out to evaluate our AC. It's an old unit but the landlord decided to try to recharge it with some stop-leak to see how it does. He came late in the day, and unfortunately the landlord didn't call back in time to authorize the recharge before it started getting dark. Tried to make arrangement for them to come back out after an unnecessary delay of several days because Yaeger Sr. apparently doesn't trust that Yeager Jr. was capable of explaining the risks around recharging an older system (as in it leaking out again). I work out of the area during the day and they work bankers hours and apparently not on weekends. Sr. said he would check their schedule and get back to me on what they could work out. A week later we hired someone else to come out and charge the system on our schedule just in time for a triple-digit weekend. Out of the blue today I get a call from Yaeger (over 3 weeks later, mind you) asking if I had some time today... Today? They wait 3 weeks and then call with only a few hours notice that they would be available? No apologies or anything for the delay, apparently didn't care. My review is completely based on the customer service experience... We did not use them for the recharge or repair so I can't speak to the quality of their actual work. Edit in response to Yaeger Comment - only because I hate it when the truth is bent to try to save face: 1) The landlord spoke to your son before he left the property. An informed decision was made before he even was done packing up. The delay waiting on a callback from the landlord was because you apparently couldn't accept the informed decision already made by your "regular customer" 2) It was communicated by your son that there was a fee for evaluation, but that it would be credited towards future service. Pretty standard practice as no one likes to spend one or two hours at a job for free. You are saying you didn't charge, so I have amended my original review. 3) I told you what hours were convenient for me. You said you would check what you could do making me thing would could find a compromise time. I'm not inflexible, but as a customer who was just subjected to an unnecessary delay I wanted to try to work out a time convenient for me. Silly, right? This was the hottest March on record since they began tracking it in 1877... how long was I supposed to swelter while waiting for you to get back to me, even if it was just to say there was no way your would accommodate my hours because of how far I commute to get home? I would have had more respect for your company if you did that rather than waiting for 3 weeks and not even apologizing for the delay. Even now you are trying to blame the customer rather than admit it was wrong to leave a customer hanging like that. In my opinion your comment only further supports my review. read more

Our furnace was 20+ years old, kept breaking on us and we had a choice to spend more money into a aging heater or start the journey of researching everything we could about the replacement process. I did what most will do, searched Google / Yelp for companies that service the Southern Orange County region and called the first "organic" ranking that showed up, and that could make it to our house that next day. Well, that first organic ranked company (which I will not call out) came over and quoted me $5,878 to replace the heater (Just the heater mind you..) and $13,492 for the whole system which as a laymen, seemed in the realm of feasibility. Like most of you will do as well, I put out a request for bids to ensure I was getting a fair price, and thankfully, Yager Services, specifically John Moses was one of the companies that reached out. He was over at our house the next day and not exaggerating, spent two hours with myself and my wife educating us on the in's and out's of the industry and the total replacement process (let alone checked out our existing heater) for no cost whatsoever. Long story short, not only were we educated on the Furnace, Coil, and Condenser we would ultimately need, (which by the way, the first company I called didn't even bother to tell me that they were going to re-weld the old coil onto a new furnace, which that old coil itself, would have needed to be replaced in a matter of years and we would have needed to take the whole furnace system out yet again... this first company was clearly after trying to get a customer to repeat purchase multiple times, thus padding their margins! which I learned was not a uncommon practice!) we also paid a fair price for a complete new system that was much less than the first quote we received. Point being, Yaeger Services took the time to educate the consumer, gave a fair reasonable price all things considered, and delivered on exactly what they said they would and earned my trust in the process. Which, as you dive into this world of HVAC companies, I'd rank "trust" above "lowest cost" any day. If you are looking for more than a contractor and a quote to help walk you through this (Let's be honest, it's a black box industry) process, then Yaeger is for you. read more

We usually only leave reviews when we feel a company truly deserves one. We cannot put into words the level of service we received with Yaeger. Let me first say we had many contractors give us quotes on our HVAc whole house system. Curt, the owner, was the only one, let me repeat, the only contractor that took the time to do a proper Load Calculation for our existing home vent systems before throwing prices at us. As using square footage alone is not the most efficient process and can even hurt a system that is improperly sized for your home. We did many hours of research and online HVAc data gathering and found that when it comes to the AC/heating system equipment plays only 50% importance. The other 50% comes down to proper installation and technical experience. Curt also gave us a very competitive bid and was able to match the other guys bid. On the day of installation, his installers Shane and Rodrigo came on time and started working. Shane, is also NATE certified tech and did the calculations again to make sure we had the right system for our home. Later came Andrew, and the three worked thoroughly in each part of the installation. They respected our home and tried their best to always clean up after each process. It took two full days to complete our full AC/heating job and we are glad they took the time to do the job right the first time! Andrew and Shane are awesome at customizing the vent system with our new Furnace and AC system. We bought the premium Amana series FYI. Our system works great on its first test run today cooling our entire house and we even have the WIFi capability to adjust our thermostat from any location. We look forward to a much more efficient running AC for this coming summer. We highly recommend this company to anyone looking for an HVaC company they can trust. I would've given 10 stars if I could! Hired them on our previous & current houses, both were very satisfactory. Dad (Curt) & Son (Herb) & their crew (Andrew, Omar, etc.) are extremely competent, courteous, professional and last but not least, they are very kind and considerate - has helped us many-2 times @ no extra charge when we needed the most (A/C didn't work during one of the hottest days & Curt came in the very same day) and the most impressive thing is that they are decent & caring people - after temporarily fixed our A/ (no charge!) Curt asked me if I wouldn't mind postponing the already scheduled work @ our house, so that they could help another family whose A/C was totally shut i.e. miserable. I think that was a very kind, compassionate and caring gesture. If I were a selfish jerk, I could've said no. Instead, I was touched by their kindness. They also helped my cousin whose A/C also was shut, on a weekend when they are closed. Herb went in & fixed it. We're very appreciative & grateful. Last but not least, The Yaegers are doing their job lawfully (many don't, to save money I think), by having the State Inspector came to inspect their job, making sure it was done properly according to code & regulations, to prevent short-circuits hence fire, checking efficiencies, etc. and their work passed with flying colors. AC had a blown fuse over the weekend, I called early Monday and the earliest they could schedule me was Friday- but Angela said she would try to work me in and would call me back. A few hours later she called and offered to have a technician come out at the end of the day, after his last scheduled appointment. I had to leave work to meet him so I asked if he could call me directly when he was leaving his last job, and he did- so I got to work until the last minute and didn't have to wait around my house for a huge service window. When I got home, Andrew and a young trainee/ apprecentice had just arrived. Both were very friendly and got right to work. Andrew explained what he was doing and showed me the parts that had to be replaced. Again, he was very outgoing and friendly, and very honest. I mentioned that I have suspected for years that my ductwork needed looking at, he gave me very honest feedback telling me benefits of having the ducts inspected but with zero sales pressure. All the time he was very patient and courteous with the trainee, asking him politely to retrieve certain items from the service truck. I was very pleased with the results, the experience and the cost. I know they are swamped these days, but I will definitely call them to inspect my ducts during their slower times in the fall or spring, and have already recommended them to my co-workers. read more

Where do I begin? My neighbor recommended Yaeger Services as my air conditioner went out about a month ago. I called John Moses from Yeager and he was very responsive and pleasant to speak with. He was able to immediately come over and look at my (25 year old) air conditioner. John quickly identified what caused my AC to fail and I requested that he replace the entire compressor and coil units. He set up an appointment at my earliest convenience and I really appreciate his honesty, professionalism and knowledge! They put down blankets over all of my furniture and carpet to ensure that no debris would affect my house and they even vacuumed afterwards!
