Not only did Pro West Mechanical reschedule their appointments countless times, they left me with a newly installed gas furnace that did not turn on. When someone came to fix this, I told them I smelled gas, and they said it was fine and left. Next I had to call in the gas company who tested and found a leak in the newly installed furnace. My children and I could be dead because of their negligence. The furnace has been red-tagged and deemed hazardous. "This condition could result in property damage, personal injury or loss of life." Needless to say, I do not recommend this company. read more

I used Pro West to replace an old gas furnace and AC unit with a heat pump system. I also had new ducting installed and added more intake and some larger vents. I have only great things to say about the professionalism and quality of service provided! They really have the whole process dialed in. Alex in the office is highly communicative and they also send appointment notifications by text msg so there is never any confusion. The install team always arrived on time and cleaned up well at the end of each day. My project manager Jake was great about explaining how the new system worked and providing progress updates throughout the installation. He really went out of his way to make sure we were happy with the work which I really appreciate. The business owners Mike and Chris are also very hands-on which gives you great confidence in the work they do. Before your commit, I strongly recommend reading through my experience: I had a 20yr old AC that's working but needs to be relocated due to code violation, and I turned to Pro West for the relocation job: I was impressed by the technician's experience during the estimation appointment and their pricing was one of the best too. They pointed out that relocating old units comes with a risk. Old unit may stop working afterward even if it's a 1ft relocation. I asked for their input on the healthiness of the unit and their confidence, and the answer I got was the unit is still in good condition and they're confident it will come out fine. The job ended up in 3 different sessions. session 1 is on 02/03/2023. 2 technicians did the relocation job but ran into an issue filling in the refrigerant. the AC unit was running fine after the relocation but insufficient refrigerant caused low pressure in the system. They ran out of refrigerant and have to come back on a different time. No leak or any other issues were noticed during this session. session 2 is on 02/16/2023. 1 technician (from the previous job) came to fill the refrigerant. AC unit has not been touched or turned on since the previous visit, but the technician ran into issues again filling in the refrigerant. after a few hours of diagnostics, I was told the TXV was faulty and should be replaced. They don't have the part for the unit and need to order and schedule a 3rd visit. No leak was noticed. session 3 is on 03/10/2023. the same technician came with a new TXV for my system, and he needed to drain the refrigerant into the condenser before the TXV replacement. shortly after he started draining, he told me the condenser had a leak and we both can see refrigerant spray out from the condenser. After a few hours, he told me the condenser needed to be replaced. I was told this is considered as the "risk" for relocating an old unit, and provided me a quote for upgrading the full system to end their relocation job. the above are the FACTs of what happened to me. as an end consumer without special knowledge, it's difficult for me to judge right and wrong. however, certain part can be figured out with common sense. here's what made me uncomfortable. 1. other than the technician turning on the AC to test the pressure, no one has touched the AC or turned on the AC before or after any of the visits. 2. 7 days after the 3rd visit, I paid another HVAC technician to inspect the faulty unit. he told me the refrigerant has been all leaked. The 2nd visit and 3rd visit is almost 4 weeks apart, if the leak existed before the 3rd visit, by the 3rd visit, it would have been fully leaked prior to his arrival. This made me believe the leak started after he arrived. 3. the pipe of the refrigerant is a closed loop and if there's a leak it would happen with or without the AC being turned on. on top of that , the leak of refrigerant is visible and I didn't see any leak prior to the 3rd visit. 4. the quote I received for a full system upgrade is $14K where the same system build (identical make and model and specs) is quoted for $10K else where. 5. when I started working with a different HVAC company, they noticed 2 other issues: one end of the copper pipe that's added during relocation has a noticeable bent, which may cause a leak in the future. and the fuse box location (installed by pro west) is too close to the ground, can be a safety concern. I don't really know what to think of my experience working with Pro West. I didn't record the entire work process on video, and neither do I have enough knowledge to tell if anything was done incorrectly. Several issues happened one after another, multiple parts turned faulty even if not touched, it's just too coincidental for me to be convinced. I had an old but working AC (no issues) and now I'm forced to upgrade the AC. I do not feel comfortable paying for the relocation job and I think the result may likely be different if I went with a different company. read more

These guys are the best. I had them change out my old furnace, condenser, and air handler for a new heat pump and air handler. The installation went great at a reasonable price. I had received 2 other bids and PWM was the middle bid and I went with them as they clearly offered great advice and recommendations. After the install I developed a leak in my condensate drain line where it came out of the air handler. They came right out to fix it and it turned out the problem was a partially clogged drain line and not related to their installation of the new system. I couldn't give a higher recommendation. read more

So glad we were referred to Chris and company for our central AC repairs! Our tech Jason was quickly able to diagnose the problem (a dead dual-run assist) and fixed it on the spot. He was incredibly personable and professional, and helped educate me on the specific AC set-up that is in our rental, which is a duplex. Not only did he fix the mechanical issue, but helped me understand how to maximize the airflow and cooling throughout our house. I would recommend PWM anytime. LONG VERSION: our AC unit start malfunctioning right as the heat wave started (of course) and while our landlords were traveling internationally. We scrambled to find someone who could come and fix it quickly, but hit several dead ends on the holiday weekend. Chris took my call right away and was able to reschedule one of his techs to stop by day-of, which was incredible considering the 3 places I'd called before couldn't get anyone to our place for at least 4-5 days. We were able to diagnose the issue, and Jason the tech waited while I messaged our landlords and hoped they would see our message and approve the repairs - which they did. The price was higher than some other quotes I saw online for the particular piece being replaced, but considering the amazing customer service, multi-year guarantee, and quick response, it was well worth it. We dealt with a big company (let us just leave it nameless) that usually quickly offers us to buy new units for any kind of problems we have. We didn't want to go through that experience again. The technician, Victor, was able to find the problem and fixed it. It was a wiring problem and there was no need to buy a new unit. I had suspected it that it was not something big. I was glad that I didn't call the big company that probably would have offered us to buy a new AC(always suspicious when that is the recommendation). He was very honest and professional. I just had Jason swing by our place (2 story) and give us the "Pre-Summer" maintenance evaluation of our heating and air conditioning system. Jason was a "Rock Star". He wore a mask, booties and was prompt and just an awesome guy. With at home schooling for the kids, I had no problem letting him mosey thorough our home checking registers, filter intakes and thermostat. When cleaning the intake register, he laid down a moving blanket not only to catch whatever debris dropped from brushing the grate but also to protect our hard-wood floor from the ladder. My A/C unit wasn't pushing cool air and contacted Pro West Mechanical to look at it. I've used PWM before and always found them to be a quality, prompt, and reliable company. I given a $900 quote to repair the unit. The parts were expensive and it was labor intensive because they had to take the unit out of my attic to work on it. When they were done the unit still wasn't working. The problem was bigger than originally believed. I needed a new A/C coil which was going to be even more expensive. Because the $900 job did not fix the unit, PMW did not charge me for either the parts or labor. I was very impressed by their integrity and how they stand by their work.
