My old condenser finally breathed its last breath. I had already repaired it a few times and the last repair only bought me a few more weeks. When the repair guy told me there was no warranty on the work because my AC was so old, I knew it was time to stop throwing money at it and replace the whole thing. I started calling around and getting quotes from several HVAC companies. Surprisingly, the pricing was all pretty similar. The big difference was the equipment. A lot of the companies were quoting brands I either hadn't heard of or didn't have much confidence in. Evolution was the only company I spoke with that was using American Standard and really stood behind the quality of the equipment they were installing. That ultimately made the decision for me. The entire process with Evolution was professional and easy. They showed up, got to work, and had the full installation completed in about 5 to 6 hours. I was expecting the house to be without AC most of the day, but they got everything done much faster than I expected. We've had the new system running and love it. The first thing we noticed was how QUIET it is. Our old condenser was so loud that you always knew when it kicked on. With the new one, I sometimes have to actually listen for it to make sure it's running. Replacing an entire AC system is not exactly something anyone gets excited about spending money on, but if I had to do it, I'm glad I went with Evolution. Final update: The company has now stated in writing that they will not send a technician and advised me to work with another HVAC company, despite acknowledging the issue may have fallen through the cracks. For context, during this period we had a newborn and significant personal obligations. When the visit occurred, the noise did not happen at that moment and no technician evaluation or adjustment was performed as a result. I later recorded the noise when it occurred and shared video evidence. Despite this, no diagnostic visit was offered. My review reflects both the unresolved issue and how it was ultimately handled. After posting this review, the business responded by disputing timelines and attributing the issue to unrelated work, but did not offer to inspect or resolve the ongoing airflow/pressure noise, despite video evidence. The attic cellulose work referenced was recommended by their team and performed by a contractor they referred. I had an air conditioning unit installed by Evolution Air in 2021. Since installation, the unit has intermittently made a loud "farting" or bubbling noise. I reported this issue within the first year. A technician came out, but unfortunately the noise did not occur during the visit, so nothing was adjusted or fixed. The problem has continued since then. After researching the issue myself, I found multiple discussions on Reddit indicating this is a known and common problem related to airflow or pressure adjustment, and that it is typically an easy fix for an experienced technician. Despite this, the issue remains unresolved years later. Overall, I'm disappointed that a known, recurring issue reported early on was not properly addressed, and that I've had to rely on online forums to understand what should have been a straightforward adjustment. Evolution to the rescue! The weather was super hot this week, temperatures rising to 100 WITH humidity in north Orange County! Our A/C gave out in the evening and I called after hours hoping to leave a message but someone picked up and said they would try to find someone to get out to me the next day. Someone called me the next day before 8am and said Eddie would come out between noon - 2pm. Eddie arrived 10 minutes before noon and thankfully it was just a quick fix with my circuit breaker but he spent the time to clean my outside unit (I've never cleaned it since we got it), check the power and filter, and retaped some of the taping that had come off. He said my coils were clean since my unit was fairly new but I noticed that my A/C is already a bit cooler since he's cleaned it and checked the power. We have a 4.5ton and it's cold at 75 degrees! We've never had to drop it below 72 even in this hot weather. The best part is their quick service and I love that you can talk to someone right away without going through an automated call system! Prompt service, very communicative with scheduling. As always, be a smart consumer: pay attention and ask questions to avoid getting taken advantage of. First technician, Ricky, was very pleasant and seemed to be knowledgeable. I am no mechanic, but I told him the details of what happened with my HVAC system, and what I suspected was an electrical problem with the thermostat. He did not check it. Replaced the contact lead, then blew the transformer, and then blew the main power board. Replaced them all, but the price kept going up and still couldn't get the system online. He kept asking who rewired the system, which has never happened. Promised he would return to fix it after consulting with his boss, but then proceeded to try to upsell me to a new HVAC system $$$$!? Diego returned another day and fixed the system which was indeed the very inexpensive thermostat unit. He offered me the original stated "deal" of $975. But when I calmly told him what the prior technician had done and said please explain it to me, he immediately and without question accepted responsibility, and only charged me the basic house call fee. Evolution continues to impress! Shortly after installation of our air conditioner we had a few user error questions. Both Rose and Brian stayed on the phone with me after hours to help run diagnostics and fix the issues. Brian even made a trip to the property to adjust our dampers for us when no technicians were available during a heat wave. Most recently, I was concerned we might have a refrigerant leak in our heat system. I messaged Rose on Yelp around 10pm at night expressing my concern. By 8:30am that next morning a technician had arrived at our house to check things out. Fortunately, there were no issues. Our older AC unit quit working late Monday night in late October. After seeing many positive reviews on Yelp for Evolution Heating And Air Conditioning, we called them at 10:30 Tuesday morning. They gathered our information and said a technician would be out with a Noon-2:00 window. He actually arrived before 11:45 to check things out. The communication was excellent, with text messages being sent to us from the home office as well as the technician. He also called when he was on his way, and the text messages included a tracker to show the GPS location of the technician as he was traveling. He arrived and took the proper time to diagnose our unit. We were informed that our 21 year old condenser had major voltage issues. We knew this day was coming based on past service calls in recent years from another company. There was no hard sell, but upon my suggestion, I was contacted by Jeff at Evolution, and by 1:45 PM we were meeting at the house to discuss new installation options. It was determined that our heat furnace was still in excellent condition, so we focused on a new AC condenser unit package. Jeff was very knowledgeable, informative, and an excellent communicator. He offered a nice discount, which was a very good value for what we needed, and we set up the installation for the next day. The crew arrived Wednesday morning before 8:00.
