Most notably, Duane personally came out for the estimate and spent time explaining what he thought would suit our needs after hearing our priorities and concerns. He was forthright and did not try to upsell us by recommending the most expensive models or unnecessary add-ons. He spent time reviewing the pros and cons of various models and was always patient and quick to respond to our follow up questions or concerns that came up as we spent time deciding on this significant investment. The technician who came out was friendly and gave an explanation of what might be wrong with our A/C unit. However, neither the technician nor anyone from the company disclosed there would be a service fee. I called multiple other companies before, and every single one was upfront about any charges, some even waived the fee entirely. So I assumed (wrongly) that this company didn't have one since it was never mentioned. To make things worse, after the visit, I was hit with a $100 service fee; much higher than others I spoke with. It honestly felt like they were banking on the lack of transparency to squeeze more out of customers. When I pushed back, they lowered it to $55. There are plenty of transparent companies out there doing the same work without hidden fees. This experience left me with a bad taste and a total lack of trust. I'll be going with someone else to actually fix the A/C. Responding to the comment below: I don't expect anyone to do work for free but at the same time I expect a business to tell me outright when the service is going to charge anything. First, I never asked the technician to put my unit back together. Second, it was literally the three electrical lines that needed to be tide back in, the simplest task anyone can do. At the end of the day the lack of transparency is the issue. At any point the service is going to cost a $ amount, it should be relayed to the homeowner to get confirmation (I don't see why I even need to explain a simple business concept). I honestly believe you caught me off guard and took advantage by initially request $100. Though I did appreciate that you lowered the fee to $55, it was still higher than the service fee's from larger HVAC companies (again one large company completely waived it). Please be transparent with the customer in the future. To end on a good note: the technician who came over seemed very knowledgeable and at the end of the day I appreciated the time he took with us - I showed that by tipping him pretty generously. read more

Duane did a full inspection in my attic and condenser to determine the right system for my home. He talked me through the pros and cons of gas furnaces vs heat pump and the different brands. He recommended a top line Carrier system that was quiet and efficient and could switch to full electricity. Google search showed it was highly rated. I got two other bids and they recommended lower priced brands. Surprisingly, the estimate was about the same as Connected's bid. Duane was on time for the estimate and the install. He was also on site as the work started and examined all the work after. His team was efficient, clean, and respectful. They did not leave a scratch on the walls or floors and left my home spotless! I was really impressed with Haven Air Conditioning and J Martin Indoor Air Quality too - both very professional, and with strong pricing, however I went with Connected for two reasons: 1) they offered the best deal 2) they were willing to do some patchwork on my vents for a nominal price (the others didn't want to do patchwork, but do a full replacement of certain vents) Highly recommend. read more

Reached out to this business at the referral of a neighbor. Received a response promptly from the company and had the owner Duane out right away to provide a quote. We moved our furnace to the attic, upgraded to a heat pump, new ducting, asbestos removal (separate company but great couple of guys as well) , and added zones. Duane brought his crew out and they knocked most of it out in one day and returned the following day to tie up some loose ends. We also opted for HERS testing and had the city out to permit, which everything passed. There were some hiccups with the zones a couple weeks later causing the unit to shut off but Duane got his team out and addressed the issue. I think the largest reason for working with Duane was that he was willing to work with us and our financing company (through Go Green program) which required him to go through a ton more administrative hoops on his end. He also expressed to us we can always text/call for the future if we have any concerns. Our house feels great and we are super happy! read more

Connected is fantastic. We inherited a crappy A/C unit when we bought this house. Each time there were A/C issues, Connected came out immediately and fixed everything quickly (replacing the capacitor, freon leak, etc.). We dealt with David each time and he is professional, knowledgeable, super patient and thoroughly explained everything to me. I really liked how he didn't try to upsell me or put any pressure...and just seemed like an honest no bulls--t type of person. When it finally came down to getting a new unit, I got a bid from Connected & 4 other companies. After speaking to every company, I genuinely only liked & trusted Connected and 1 other company. Everyone says that it's less about which A/C brand you pick and more about the company you choose to do the install. Connected was also the lowest estimate. The day of the job, David brought 4 other guys with him and they knocked out the new Bryant A/C and coils installation in just 3.5 hours (would have been even faster if they didn't have to remove a door to get the old unit out).
