Highly recommend JW Mitchell Heating and Air Conditioning. They were very responsive to my questions on Yelp before deciding to go with them and scheduling the appointment. They showed up to perform a tune up on our HVAC promptly, and gave detailed explanations and pictures of all work. They provided quotes for all recommended items, and were not pushy at all. Even when a piece of our equipment broke during inspection due to the age of the system, they repaired it free of charge. The work completed looked great and everything is working properly. Will be using them for future maintenance needs. read more

I can't recommend this JW Mitchell Heating and Air Condition company enough! After another company told us our heater was broken and that we needed to replace the entire system, we decided to get a second opinion--and we're so glad we did. We were previously quoted over $20,000 for a brand-new heating and AC system, but thanks to JW Mitchell Heating and Air Conditioning their expertise, we avoided an unnecessary replacement. It's refreshing to find a company that values honesty and takes the time to properly diagnose the problem instead of immediately recommending the most expensive option. They quickly diagnosed the issue and had our heater working again within minutes. Their technician was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, honest, and respectful throughout the entire visit. If you're looking for an HVAC company you can trust, this is the one. Thank you for getting our heat back on and saving us thousands of dollars! read more

Very disappointed with my experience. The service call started off well, but quickly became uncomfortable. The technician told me that the part needed to repair my unit was not available from the manufacturer. I checked the manufacturer's website myself and found the part listed as available. I was also told the part would cost over $5,000, plus labor. However, the same part was listed on the manufacturer's website for around $1,500. I completely understand that HVAC companies need to mark up parts and make a profit, but more than tripling the price seems excessive. When I questioned the availability, I was told that because it was Saturday, they couldn't confirm anything. I was essentially told to pay the diagnostic fee, accept that I had a non-working unit, and that there wasn't a repair solution as they don't like the brand I have and did not want to quote the part or repair. I wish they kept their word and said the diagnostic fee would go to the repair cost. What bothered me most was that the conversation then shifted toward pressuring me to purchase an entirely new system. When a repair part appears to be available directly from the manufacturer, being told it isn't available and then being pushed toward a full system replacement does not inspire confidence. The appointment started off great, and I was hopeful they would be a company I could trust. Unfortunately, by the end of the visit, I felt very uncomfortable with the information and pricing I was given. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion and independently checking part availability and pricing before agreeing to a major repair or full system replacement with this company. read more

Brian from JW Mitchell did a great job taking care of our issue, we actually had a different hvac company come in and couldn't figure out the issue and Brian came in and immediately knew what it was before even opening the panel based purely on the smell. He confirmed it and allowed me to confirm as well and explained how/why it could happen. He handled the warranty check with the ac manufacturer and picked up the free replacement part and handled all of that for me and fixed the issue. 1000% recommend. Also appreciate that their dispatcher texts you the eta and handles payments electronically makes it's so much more convenient read more

We recently used JW Mitchell to replace and install two brand new AC units + a new furnace after our 20 year old units were on their last leg. Matt and Luke were incredibly informative, were very easy to reach to address my 100 questions, and everyone who helped install the units were kind and professional. We appreciate the work they did and we are enjoying the new AC units during these heat waves! read more

Excellent service. They replaced my 20 year old AC the day after the inspection. Great service and the system provided is a big improvement. I can't comment on the cost (higher than expected), because I didn't have time to shop other systems or contractors. I picked them from Yelp's 5 start HVAC contractor and was not disappointed. read more

They were Very communicative and showed up when they said they would. Earlier actually. Anddd they Answered all my questions. The service was completed and they even left tips on how to maintain the unit to keep it running and lasting longer. All in all 12/10 ! read more

After turning on my heater for the first time in a while, my smoke alarm went off and I smelled smoke, which was understandably concerning. I called JW Mitchell and they were able to come out within a few hours, which I really appreciated. The technician was calm, thorough, and reassuring. He tested the system and confirmed that everything was functioning properly. He explained that some smell can be normal when a heater hasn't been used for a while, which immediately put me at ease. Before leaving, he did notice a very slight smell coming from the fan, but it was nowhere near what I experienced initially. He explained what to watch for going forward, so I'd know if it ever needed attention, which I really appreciated. He also changed my filter, was genuinely friendly, and even gave my dog treats -- a small but thoughtful touch. Based on this experience, I would highly recommend this JW Mitchell. Responsive, professional, and genuinely helpful. read more

My tune up was great. Brian showed up on time and let me know what he was doing throughout his service.

JW Mitchell Heating and Air Conditioning is a very loyal and trustworthy company. They came out the next day after a late night call the night before! Luke was knowledgeable, hard working, and an efficient employee. He analyzed our issue and fixed it in a reasonable amount of time and didn't try to say we needed more than we did. His knowledge of the units and material were spot on. This is the 2nd time we have used this company and will definitely use them again in the future. JW Mitchell provides decent HVAC services with a reliable team. They arrived on time and completed the job as promised. Overall, it's a solid option if you're looking for standard HVAC solutions, but maybe not for those seeking top-notch service without hiccups. Good, but could be better! read more

We had issues with our heater shutting off after 5 minutes. We called a few places but either they weren't available for a few days or their prices were high for an initial consult. JW Mitchell answered my call right away and was able to send someone the same day. The technician, Daron, communicated via text his ETA and upon arrival was very professional. He assessed the situation and told us he needed to order a part for us. He was upfront with the cost. He returned a few days later, texting us that he was on his way. Daron and Matt were amazing to work with. We needed a vent system installed for a new range in our ADU. The response after our initial post for service was excellent, the visit to quote the job was quick and the scheduling of the work was within a few days. What was to be a simple job, turned into a real project for them! Unfortunately, the vent parts that came with the unit could not be used due to some construction complications - no fault of their own. Matt took hours to completely redesigned, custom build and install a new vent system and everything looks/works amazing. They are both very professional, personable and very reliable.
