I had troubleshot past the capacitor (good), and Big Wave recommended replacement of circuit card, fan, motor, and igniter. Why would all of those items break simultaneously, and parts would take 3 weeks to arrive. I called Shawn Labert and they weren't able to schedule me until the following week. Shawn called me back immediately and remarked that since I had already taken the trouble to check the capacitor, replacement of the control card should be well within my ability. He even suggested ordering one from Amazon which I had assumed was only available from an HVAC supplier. Finally, he even offered to be available to answer any technical questions I had. His encouragement was all I needed! I found a replacement card on Amazon sold by Rheem for $151. It arrived the following afternoon. That night I installed it within 30 minutes, and my blower roared to life! I literally saved $3,000 and 3 weeks of living in a hot house. In the future, I'll call Shawn Lambert if I need HVAC support.

This time I needed HVAC service because my Air Conditioner stopped working during this awful heat-wave and despite being super busy & being around a holiday weekend, Honorable Air was able to come out in less than 48 hours from when I called them - which is amazing and I really appreciated! Today I had the pleasure of having Jesse as my technician (he is the owner and brother of Jeremy who was the awesome technician I had last time). Both brothers truly are honorable, as I was charged fairly and given options for upgrading items on my unit. I never felt pressured and Jesse was very fair-balanced explaining what was optional vs his recommendations, etc. Jesse is very knowledgeable and kind! As a woman, often we ladies aren't treated as well by contractors, but that was NOT the case with Jesse! Jessie treated me very respectfully and never 'mansplained' me and never made me feel dumb (not even when one of the issues with the AC was something I could have easily remedied on my own). Jesse was extremely professional, attentive and considerate! Truly honorable!! The best part is that Jesse had the part I needed already in his work van, so he was able to install it immediately and I didn't have to wait for him to order the part or go pick it up - as he was able to fix everything the same visit! My house is already cool again and I'm so thankful that the entire experience was so fast and efficient! What I also appreciated was how Jesse educated me on preventative care for my HVAC unit so I can keep it running without problems/service for longer. I will totally put his tips to use - as one tip was that I wasn't changing my air filters frequently enough, which was putting unneeded stress on my system (and that is a simple fix to make!). I also had a question about some HVAC products I had seen online and he was able to give me his professional opinion that one was gimmicky/not worth my money but the other would be worth looking into. Overall, I'm super happy with my second experience with Honorable Air! Honorable Air is for sure my top recommendation for a HVAC company in Orange County!

We were previously quoted over $20,000 for a brand-new heating and AC system, but thanks to JW Mitchell Heating and Air Conditioning their expertise, we avoided an unnecessary replacement. It's refreshing to find a company that values honesty and takes the time to properly diagnose the problem instead of immediately recommending the most expensive option. They quickly diagnosed the issue and had our heater working again within minutes. Their technician was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, honest, and respectful throughout the entire visit. If you're looking for an HVAC company you can trust, this is the one. Thank you for getting our heat back on and saving us thousands of dollars!

When my old system broke, James and his team came out right away, walked me through the different options, and took the time to make sure I was choosing the right system for my home and my family. A few days later, they came back and completed the entire installation. The new system works great and is a huge improvement over what we had before. James and his team are honest, hardworking, and genuinely care about doing the job right. It is easy to see why they have so many positive reviews. I would highly recommend 1st Choice to anyone looking for a new HVAC system or needing repairs on an existing one.

The proposal specified a variable-capacity heat pump even though we had discussed a two-stage system, but it did not clearly confirm how the equipment would operate with my existing zone control board. It also did not include the AHRI Reference Number needed to verify the exact system's certified efficiency, nor the requested surge protection. For a major HVAC installation, important equipment specifications and agreed-upon work should be clearly included in the written contract. Although the price was competitive, their unwillingness to revise the initial estimate left too much uncertainty for me to proceed.

My mother recently engaged a service provider for routine maintenance on her air conditioning unit,…read morewhich included the installation of a new Honeywell thermostat. Subsequent to this service, she has reported that the air conditioning is not effectively cooling the premises, with only the fan operating. I advised her to adjust the thermostat to a lower setting. Given her advanced age of 90, her discomfort with the warm air became increasingly pronounced. Today, in collaboration with my brother-in-law, we investigated the issue. We observed that while the unit appeared to be functioning, it was not producing cool air, despite the outdoor fan operating correctly. During our investigation, we contacted the service provider, Thomson. A representative stated that only the thermostat had been replaced and that a service technician could be dispatched for a fee of $159, suggesting a potential wiring issue. Upon reviewing the Honeywell thermostat instructions and wiring diagram, we identified that the thermostat had been incorrectly wired to the "W" terminal. After rectifying this wiring error, the air conditioning unit resumed normal operation, producing cool air. I subsequently contacted Thomson for clarification regarding the initial service. Their response repeatedly referenced a previous replacement 14 months prior. While their online reviews are predominantly five-star, our experience suggests a lack of professionalism. This incident raises concerns about the necessity of recommended services and the quality of workmanship, potentially indicating errors or intentional oversights during the initial installation.

One issue I have, however, is the lack of transparency with pricing. We paid $600 for a New Dual Run Capacitor and $500 for a new contactor relay switch. Everyone I've talked to since the repair has said that that's really expensive. I'll assume the additional price was because it was on a Sunday? I'll never know because I already paid and it's done. I learned SO many things today about a/c units from him that I never knew!! He explained about the capacitor--been hearing that word for years but never knew it meant something sort of like a battery in the condenser unit (that big metal cube thing that sits in your backyard that powers all of the life-sustaining cold air in the house that keeps you from certain death during a heatwave...LOL!l), flushing the drain lines etc. Also learned how to do simple things like opening the drawer for the filter--DUH! I'm so lame, I'd been trying to open the big flat panel to put in a new filter for some time but gave up --then the other day I realized the drawer on the bottom was the thing with the filter, but because I'm arthritic, I didn't think I could pull it out. Alan made it real simple for me and showed me there's a latch on it that you squeeze and voila!--it just opens! For a year, I haven't been able to master that one simple trick--LOL!! We ended up with an all new heat pump system that is quiet and really efficient (17.5 SEER2). We already anticipated need for a new system since every tech that came in last 5 years said it was on its last leg, before it finally died during an extreme heat warning. The installation crew arrived on time, were very respectful of our garage items (helped move bikes to backyard and even used cloths to cover from the sun!), never complained about the working conditions (hot garage and tight garden area for fan unit), and were informative about the process. They also left our property very clean and tidy upon job completion after a single (and very hot) day of installation. As a bonus, I was not expecting the excellent craftsmanship of the lovely stainless platform cover over the new plywood they cut-to-fit for the removal of the old/damaged platform/box deck, and they used duct-board and sealant to finally make the interior of the intake under the unit sealed from all the walls and dust generation that has been blown throughout the home since the 1970s. Could not be happier with the end product as well as the process from inspection/quote to system startup. I would recommend Air Blue HVAC to my mom, friends/family, and to you! Give them an opportunity to earn your business as they offered us the best price on the best system. Thank you, Air Blue HVAC team!
