I had troubleshot past the capacitor (good), and Big Wave recommended replacement of circuit card, fan, motor, and igniter. Why would all of those items break simultaneously, and parts would take 3 weeks to arrive. I called Shawn Labert and they weren't able to schedule me until the following week. Shawn called me back immediately and remarked that since I had already taken the trouble to check the capacitor, replacement of the control card should be well within my ability. He even suggested ordering one from Amazon which I had assumed was only available from an HVAC supplier. Finally, he even offered to be available to answer any technical questions I had. His encouragement was all I needed! I found a replacement card on Amazon sold by Rheem for $151. It arrived the following afternoon. That night I installed it within 30 minutes, and my blower roared to life! I literally saved $3,000 and 3 weeks of living in a hot house. In the future, I'll call Shawn Lambert if I need HVAC support.

I was informed that the diagnostic fee would be $89, which would be credited toward any necessary repairs or services. Devin came out to assess the situation. He discovered that a fuse was burned and replaced it. He also checked the AC capacitor and noted that it should be within 5% of 12.5 volts, but it was slightly lower, so he recommended replacing it. He quoted me $169 for the service and the capacitor. While checking the unit, he mentioned that another capacitor on the roof also needed to be replaced, quoting $285 for that part. Additionally, he clarified that the $169 service fee did not include the cost of the indoor capacitor, which would be an extra $165. I found this pricing quite unusual and expressed my concern, to which he replied that these parts are generally expensive. The total came to $589, but Devin said he provided a discount, bringing it down to $500. I asked him to leave the old capacitors for me to inspect. After doing some research online, I found that one capacitor was priced under $20 and the other slightly above that amount. I have included pictures for your reference. Essentially, the initial issue was a burnt fuse, and the two capacitors were replaced because they were old and potentially damaging to the unit in the future. However, the pricing for these parts feels dishonest. I had read many positive reviews about this company, particularly praising Shawn's honesty, so I am left feeling disappointed. It's disheartening to think that in our community, some may take advantage of others simply because they can. I believe we should treat each other with respect and integrity, especially when it comes to services we provide and receive. Unfortunately, my experience here has led me to feel that my trust was misplaced. I would not recommend this company; integrity is not something you can sell. AC unit is working all right as it did before.

The tech was clean, knowledgeable and helpful, giving us a temporary fix in meantime. We decided to get a quote to replace the unit and worked with Robert. He was very polite and showed us different options without pressuring us. We know other people who recently had an A/C replacement with other companies and the price Robert gave us was less. The installation went very smoothly and the installers arrived on time and finished the job earlier than expected. I didn't care for the new thermostat style and the installer cheerfully changed it to another style that I liked. I found this company to be have excellent customer service, honest, on time and reasonably priced.

Tom came to assess, said he could fix but seemed hesitant. Our house is old, we had an ugly old non working swamp cooler sitting on our roof w a big gaping hole in our hallway. We asked if he could work on the swamp cooler too which he said yes, but he actually suggested we consider upgrading to central heating and air. I laughed at that because I had a few quotes from others (central heating and air has been my dream since I bought this old freezing house). The quotes I received from a Costco partner was $50K! You read that right, $50,000. Another was $30k. As you can see w quotes like that my chuckle at Tom's suggestion of central heating and air was warranted. However, when I mentioned my previous quotes I think Tom might have laughed. He quoted us for the removal of the wall heater, swamp cooler, and a brand new central heating and air unit, not even 1/2 the price of one of the lowest quotes I'd received. We couldn't believe it. We jumped on it and his team got started a few days later. Watching them work together was literally a joy. Talk about team work! Always on time, clean and efficient, the job was done in a few days. I've lived in this house since 2009, and I no longer have to wear layers to bed. We're so happy with the service, the unit and even the cosmetic repairs on the roof where the ugly swamp cooler sat, and the hall where the wall heater was and the open rusted hole in the hall ceiling from the leaking swamp cooler shaft. Words cannot express my gratitude. It's the little things people take for granted as I never thought we would ever be able to afford central heating and air. Our plan was always to do some minor fixes so we could list our house for sale, but now I just think I want to stay here and love it a bit longer before we list it. Thank you Tom and team! You guys are first class and whenever anyone asks me if I know someone, I'm gonna be sending them to you! You guys are awesome and do fantastic work! Thank you thank you thank you!

Photos show a bunch of people that work for the company, and not ONE can come out for a set appointment? I'm giving an freebie star because I know I'm also pissed about my phone and upcoming busy schedule. But this is why I PLAN things out and have backup plans.

My wife Joni and I met the Team from Command Comfort at a Home Show in Anaheim, CA. a few weeks ago. We were very interested in getting the ductless heat and air system installed at our home in Dana Point. The house currently was equipped with conventional ducted heat and air. We were tired of the big energy bills, and servicing the whole house with our current system. The thought of having a system that could be controlled from individual living spaces really appealed to us. We spoke with numerous Contractors at the Home Show regarding the ductless options. When we spoke with the Team from Command Comfort, we knew we had found the right people for the job. The Sales Representatives were very informative, and never tried to make the hard sale. They gave us some good information, and we scheduled an appointment for them to come to our house and bid the job. On the scheduled date, John parker arrived and spent numerous hours with us talking about our best options for our house. I was super impressed because he gave us options, and at NO time did he try to sell us the most expensive units. He discussed the merits of all of their products, and collectively we decided on the best units for our needs. The installation team arrived when they were scheduled and installed the multi-room system over the course of two days. The installation Team was very clean and courteous. I am employed in the service industry, and I was very impressed with their installation. All of the work was super clean and professionally installed per industry standards. Now for the best part. The system that we purchased is fantastic. We decided to go with the top of the line Mitsubishi system. The integration of the heat, fan, and air conditioning has worked fantastic. We now have the ability to heat or cool the house by room. My wife and I like different climates, so this system fits all of those needs. I would highly recommend the good people from Command Comfort. If you want a progressive Team that will not try and pressure you into a sale, these are the right people. Woohoo, Command Comfort really is as good as it gets. I called to arrange an estimate for a tri-split ductless system a couple of days after moving into my new house, and Jamie was out within two hours (lucky, there was a cancellation). He talked us through the system and installation and answered all of our questions without making a hard sell. When I decided to go with Command Comfort I again got lucky with a cancellation and in July, right after a heatwave, our installation was scheduled only 11 days away. Jack and Paul installed the system for us. They were a joy to be around (we sometimes eavesdropped on the conversations between them and there were always kind to each other, so they're the real deal). They made us laugh and we made them laugh. Jack and Paul worked well, efficiently, quickly, and professionally. A few small things that really add up: Since my house is 6 minutes from their headquarters, we had some visitors stop by to see how things were doing. Jamie even brought lunch for Jack and Paul one day. They had to start a little later than normal on the second day because they had an early morning meeting about the company's health insurance. It brings me joy to know that I have contributed to a small business which provides health insurance for their employees and their families. Command Comfort employees are hired year-round which ensures everyone is fully trained and experienced, and that they are able to support their families. Our dogs fell in love with everyone from Command Comfort--the highest form of praise. If you are considering AC and want to learn about ductless, Jamie is the man. I had my installation done a few months ago but couldn't really do a review because it had not been used yet. In the last few weeks it has been used often!! After MANY sales people in my house to give me quotes on Central air, some pretty shady and actually telling one to get out of my house, I called Command Comfort. John Parker came out and went through everything with me in a timely and professional matter. I was impressed. My wife and I decided to go with the mini split or ductless system that they were offering. Way less invasive and a little cheaper than central air. The day of install, team leader, Christian and fellow installer Jonathan showed up on time to start work. Within about 6 hours or so, I do not remember exactly, they were finished. They cleaned up thoroughly, tested it all and it was a done deal. I wasn't certain it would keep the front of the house cool. I had an 18,000 btu unit installed in the family room that had to also cover a living room and then the kitchen. 1 unit in the master and one unit in my sons room. The first day we used it, I was impressed with how cool the whole house had gotten, even the kitchen felt the same as the living room. I am so glad we went with this system rather than central air and I do not hear that buzzing of the unit that sits outside. The units on my walls look great and work great. WOOHOOO! We've gone ductless thanks to the team at Command Comfort! After reviewing several companies we selected Command Comfort based on several factors; 1) expertise and singular focus on ductless Mini-Split AC systems, 2)Diamond Elite status with manufacturer (awesome warranty!), and 3)their elegant solution for a 3 zone system in a tight outdoor space. We could not be happier! We first met with Jamie to assess our home/solution. His expertise was evident from the onset. He listened carefully to our needs and provided solutions that fit perfectly. The installation team of Jack, Paul and Jonathan was simply outstanding. They took such great care inside and out to keep any disruption and debris to an absolute minimum. It was impressive to witness their level of communication with one another during the installation. They work with amazing accuracy and efficiency. Installing these outdoor ductless systems takes a bit of finesse to tie it into the existing home and they nailed it. When they turned on the indoor units I literally said "WOOHOO!". CommandComfort does quality work at a fair price with exceptional customer service. Tyler's team takes the time to do it right. About a month after the installation, I had another contractor up in my attic who complemented their installation. He said: "That's quality installation work, you don't see that much anymore." I can't think of anything more complementary than work getting complemented by one of their peers. When initially looking for a new AC system, I reached out to 3 different well-rated services. Of the quotes, Tyler's assessment had the middle capacity system but at the lowest price. He asked about my personal preferences, took into account some odd geometries, and built a quote that worked for me. His quote came in at about 25% less than the next highest quote. Due to HOA shenanigans, I had to reschedule twice. Tyler even helped me answer HOA questions and offered to show up to an HOA meeting if it would help. He stuck with me and didn't drop me as a customer despite 4 months of my HOA jerking me (and by proxy him) around. I cannot recommend CommandComfort enough. read more

My wife and I have been the excellent service ever from Command Comfort to install three units with Mr. Slim compressor. Even our HOA requested many difficult and complicated requests for their approval including city permit, Command Comfort responded well and cleared all conditions. Jamie, Certified Comfort Advisor, have been keeping close communication with us with thorough informative explanation. Jack, Paul and John were very professional and did an outstanding installing job as well as Peter as supervisor to make sure everything very well on various check points while working with Handy-man workers for the HOA requirements. They came out on time with 30 minutes advanced call before they arrived and worked hard to get everything done as we expected while keeping clean our home by using shoe covers and vacuumed wherever they worked. Overall Command Comfort holds excellent team work including the office staff Britney by following up their schedule and administrative matters. The entire staff is very professional, pleasant, responsive, respectful , engaged, neat, competent and thorough; actually, I don't know if you could ask for more. The coordination between the field (Mike and Todd) and office (Jeanna) is impressive. I am not quite sure how Chris (owner, I believe) managed to put together such a great team, but it made for a very positive experience for me. I especially enjoyed working with Mike, the lead technician on my project. They installed a Mitsubishi Mr Slim Ductless A/C system for me in an older townhouse. I agonized over the decision as purchasing an A/C system is out of my comfort zone (ha, ha) in terms of knowledge and experience and I hate to make a poor choice or mistake. At this point, I feel really, really good about going with the Mitsubishi. I am finding that just running the system just on dehumidify (it has this as well as A/C and fan functions) makes an amazing difference in comfort on these hot, humid days we seem to be having the last few years. read more

Command AC was right for us! Went to their website, filled out a meeting request. Jeanna called back the next day. Jeanna helped us and gave us a estimate of the cost. Many other places didn't want to say their prices until they see the house/setup. She set up an appointment with Jaime. Jaime (loved the accent) walked us through the whole process. No upselling, no pressure. He was great, he answered everything from problems, placement, to payment plan. He was even nice to our dog!!!! LOL. The next week in comes Jack, Christian, James, and Peter to install our ductless AC. You really didn't realize they were there installing.. They did a professional job. They covered their shoes before entering the house. They mounted the AC exactly where we wanted. No mess inside and outside the house. They went over each and every detail. The talented crew at Command AC recently finished a complicated two-room Mitsubishi installation at my condo in Long Beach. When they bid on the job, they were the only company that made me feel comfortable in their ability to execute the job, entailing breaking through ceilings and various walls, running new electrical, linking two units to one compressor, and also coordinating sub-contractors to re-finish the wall and ceiling work after. Their communication was very good and their work was very clean and detailed. Of special note, Jack and Christian really made the job fantastic. They made sure to call 15 minutes prior to arriving each day and kept me aware of each important step in the process. Both Christian and Jack were very respectful of my home, working in manner that least disturbed my space and made me comfortable. Command Comfort just installed a complete heat pump and ducting in my home. I initially met with Tyler (service technician) and he was able to quickly provide estimates after making a thorough inspection of my home. He patiently explained how the system works and the difference between the estimates. I received an estimate from another company for much less, but after some deep research I learned the cheaper system would have been significantly louder when running. I decided to go with Command Comfort since they were offering the best system for the price. I also considered their long experience installing heat pumps. The installation went great, Brandon and Rob explained how they were going to install the unit and duct work so there would be no surprises when they were done. In my 40 years of building and owning multiple homes, I have never met a professional HVAC person quite like Chris.In the middle of this recent heat wave, I know everyone is extremely busy, but Mitsubishi said they are one of the best in Orange County where we recently relocated to. He came out the next day due to some serious health issues I'm fighting, gave a thorough inspection of all 3 units, and pointed out some things I'd never heard of, and that definitely needed attention. He gave me an extremely fair estimate, and as busy as they are, scheduled 2 technicians to come out later in the same week and resolve our issues, one of which was a completely new unit. I gave the deposit right then and because of the level of customer service, I now have a company I feel I can trust. Thank you very much for all of your insight, and compassion for my situation. Stay away from Command Comfort: Rick Mendoza and Chris Parker from Command Comfort scammed us of our hard earned money $2675, beware no refunds. They said they found a leak, fixed it, pumped refrigerant in (no proof it was pumped in because they said it leaked all out - over $2000 of R22 refrigerant), walked around testing the temperature said that AC was cold, it was room temperature, and left hurriedly while my husband stepped out for 10 min so that he is unable to check. My husband was the one working with them all day. They said all the refrigerant pumped in leaked back out and yet they confirmed the leak was fixed and collected our money. Rick was late 1-2 hours for both appointments and acted very fishy. They came back to check and said they could not fix it. We lost $2675, money of which was savings for our kid's school tuition. I recently had Command A/C come to install a Mitsubishi ductless air conditioner in my kitchen. I have central air, but when I'm in the kitchen cooking there is a very small vent to cool the kitchen. Jamie came out and talked us through everything associated with the installation and even brought in a demonstration unit to show us the various functions of the cooling unit. When the day came for the installation Jack and Christian showed up at exactly the time they said they would be here. They covered the work area in the kitchen with plastic and began the installation. It was fairly quick -- it took from about 8:30am until about 2:00pm to get everything done. I've been a customer of Command Comfort for over a decade AND I have only great things to say about them. I had decided before I found them that I'd do business only with vendors who were not only good people, but technically competent, with a great work ethic, and absolutely committed to the best customer service. I found Command Comfort and have never had any inkling to look elsewhere for AC/heating. What a great team of people! All of them competent and caring, too. They treat me well - over and over again - and I like that they treat each other that way, also. I just hired these guys a second time now to do the first maintenance for my furnace (air conditioner actually this time of year I guess) Hah. They installed a new heater and air conditioner last year for my parents in Whittier and did a fantastic job. They told us that needed to have regular maintenance done (makes sense). They have a plan to get set up on but I didnt do it at the time. I started thinking about it the other day though because it was almost warm enough for me to turn on my A/C for upstairs so I called them out. Once again they were fantastic! Jack came out and inspected everything, changed the filter (which i forgot about too, hah) and approved it for use through this summer. My house was build in 1924, unfortunately we bought this property without AC and during the summer the temperature inside the house can get up to 104°. After researching and waging our different options whether to go with central AC or duck-less. Getting estimate from 4 different companies Command A/C was on top of our list, Starting with Jamie who came in to do the assessment on what unit we need it for our house, extremely helpful. He explain everything step by step, He was patient with us and he found the best way to finance our A/C. A day before the installation they give you a courtesy call to confirm the appointment. We had a great experience with the Command Comfort team when our system was installed. First John was very accommodating in his visit and recommended a system configuration that suited us, answering all of our questions and demonstrating the quietness of the units. Jeanna kept in contact regarding scheduling of our system install along with keeping us up to date on paperwork. When installation day arrived Jack and Paul did a terrific job. They protected areas they were working in and kept disruption to a minimum. Inside and outside, the workmanship was top notch and they were both great to work with. Additionally, Jack took the time to answer a text question on his day off and took care of a minor issue in under an hour the next business day. They were very quick to respond and was able to send someone out the same day (within the hour for us because the technician was already in the area). Our technician, Sammy, was awesome! He did a thorough check, was super friendly, and he answered all our questions and explained what he was doing throughout a lot of his work. Every step of the way, he would ask us to test things to make sure it was running while he was fixing. He provided general recommendations when we asked about our other mini splits and I was really appreciate of that because it will eventually save us time the next time we need A/C maintenance. I plan to use them again, ask for Sammy, and recommend them to family and friends. On the day of our appt, Dom showed up and was great! He was super patient and took his time to really figure out what was happening. He didn't rush at all. He spent about 2 hours at our place and provided some options to fix our problem. We really wanted Dom to come but he wasn't the one we had. The job they did was different than what was discussed with us, but it was more cost saving and AC worked so that works for us. Why the 4 stars? We scheduled a date for them to start the job. Days leading up to it we kept getting confirmation texts and reminders, even the night before which we confirmed to. The morning of appt, we get a text they have to reschedule. We understand things happen, but it was a bummer. They opted to do the job differently than discussed which we couldn't even discuss with them prior since my sibling had to come to the house for that. Overall, I would still recommend Popsicle Air. They are very responsive and job was done great.
