Basic Air installed my HVAC in 2016. I've had ZERO problems with it even though I hadn't been on top of the annual maintenance as I should've been. I want to be more systematic about the maintenance of my HVAC so I gave Basic Air a call and left a voice message for a service request. I received a call back from Tanya shortly after, and she fit me into their busy schedule and said I would receive a call 30 minutes before the technician arrived. Tanya also outlined the estimated cost for the maintenance. I received a call from Tanya the day before to let me know the time window the technician would arrive the next day. Sure enough, the next day I received a call from the technician Mo who said he would arrive in about 35-40 minutes. I can't speak highly enough about Mo's service. He was professional, thorough, and mindful. He did a great job servicing the HVAC, and now both units work and look good as new! He took great care in cleaning up after himself and was incredibly courteous throughout the process. And Tanya's quote for the service call was exactly on point! Basic Air is a family owned business run by Abraham, Hosanna, and Vic. They were a delight to work with when I had my HVAC installed, and I'm so happy to know they take great care when hiring employees like Mo and Tanya. I am blown away by the professionalism and kindness of all the employees I dealt with at Basic Air. Vik was referred to me by a neighbor. He was polite on the phone, referred me to Tanya in the office, who promptly set up a same-day inspection by Moe. They checked everything out and determined all I needed was a new filter. This alone is no big deal, but they were a second opinion after Cole's Service came out to service our HVAC unit and compressor that they installed in 2018. The told me my inside unit was shot - new filter, damaged coil and damaged motherboard...blah, blah, blah...they also suggested we replace the compressor since is was old and they wouldn't warranty the inside unit running off an old compressor. Bottom line, they wanted to charge me $21K for what turned out to be unnecessary work. They saved me $21K and have earned my business and loyalty for life! read more

We hired this company to come do a regular maintenance on our furnace and ac unit for $250. He initially told us we should replace our condenser fan because it wasn't as fast as it should. I told him we wanted to hold off for now so we can get some quotes since it was a pricey repair. He said okay and let me know he'd just clean everything. Then he said the wires were melted and needed to be replaced. He disconnected our ac unit without asking permission. We told him that I wanted it reconnected since it's so hot and he refused stating jts a fire hazard. I understand his concern but he should not be disconnecting things without our permission. It felt like he wanted to create urgency so we would ask him to replace it right away. Now I'm scrambling to find someone who can help with the repair while we are melting in the heat. What a pity. We really did like Vik. He came to our house to estimate a full replacement for our hvac and furnace. He was super nice, knowledgeable, and we really wanted to see if we could do business with them. He told me he knows we are looking to make a decision this week so he'd go back to the office and send us a quote that day. Awesome! I get nothing that day or night. No problem, I get things are busy. I follow up with a reminder text the next morning to ask about it. Vik says he's heading to the shop and he will check on it in 40 minutes. I get nothing from him. Later that afternoon , I text him again to make sure I didn't get an email yet. He told me he's working on it. Well. Nothing. No email. No text. What a shame. It's HOT right now and everyone is slammed. I wanted to share a few things about Basic Air so people know who they are doing business with when they reach out. First off, my ac stopped working yesterday. I called the company who installed my unit a few years ago. They told me they could come out a week from Friday. Sorry, but I'll be dead or divorced by then. I took the appt just incase but knew i had to find another solution. I know the owners of basic air through our church and school so I called and started begging. They said they'd be out in an hour. Then, they reached out and said they had to push it back. The school and church had no air and had hundreds of kids coming to vacation Bible school this week. They pushed back all their customers to prioritize those kids above anyone else or any amount of money. This morning they called, coordinated a time, and we're here before noon. Abraham is such a good person. We chatted and the way he handles his business is old school. They do things the right way. I'm a huge proponent of quality and service and he went the extra mile. Life changing!! We were literally sleeping with 3 fans in our room when I finally convinced my husband that we needed a/c. I called about 6 companies for an estimate, but when I met Vik from Basic Air, I just had good vibes and didn't feel like I was being sold something. The quote was very detailed and I knew everything I was getting. There was no "upselling", everything we needed was in one quote. We needed to replace our dinosaur furnace and move it into the attic, replace all the duct work, upgrade our electric panel, and find a place to put the unit. When Vik and his crew of 10 showed up (on a 90 degree day) they were all smiles and worked liked a well oiled machine. It was a very impressive scene. By the next day, we were able to hit "cool" in our house and had immediate relief. Vik stopped by to explain the best uses of the system and we learned how to cool the house before we come home on our phone, or how to fan the house when we had a house full of guests. When we received out electric bill, I was prepared for a scare, but because Basic Air put in a large system that didn't have to work at full capacity, it was only about 25% higher (not triple as I expected). UPDATE- On 4/3/22, SC Edison's transformer had blown, causing our AC equipment to burn out. I called Vik on 4/4 and in 2 hours, Ryan from Basic Air showed up to troubleshoot the problem. The transformer, thermostat, motherboard and internal fan were burnt out. Ryan buttoned everything up and said he would come back once the parts could be ordered, which he warned us could take a few days dur to availability. The next day on 4/5, to our surprise, Tonya from Basic Air called and said Ryan was on his way with the parts. Ryan repaired or replaced all of the parts required and tested our system. Everything was back in good working order! We could not have been more pleased with Vik, Ryan, Abe and Tonya's assistance and professionalism in getting our system operational in such record time. A++. Had A/C installed in our house recently. Met with Vik and he explained everything that was going to be done and some recommendations he had. Very knowledgable and professional. I have done most of the reno work on my house myself so I am pretty picky about contractors but man these guys killed it! I could tell right away they were legit. The crew was awesome. I have a pregnant wife at home as well as two young dogs. They were very accommodating and polite. After the install was done we did a walk through and there wasn't one wire/hose out of place.
