I hired this company to install two new AC units for my home, one for downstairs and one for upstairs. The downstairs unit has been working great. The upstairs unit unfortunately developed a leak, but to be fair, this was due to a defective part from the manufacturer and could have happened with any AC installer since it was outside of their control. The owner was quick to respond, and after some back-and-forth emails, he helped resolve the issue under warranty at no cost to me. This is the company you want to do your job! Our compressor died on our very old 5 ton AC unit during a record high heat for the season. After debating whether I should try to fix it or get a new system,1 I started calling for estimates but from experiences in the past had a hard time trusting anyone. A potential leak in the ceiling, possibly from clogged condensation, was identified during the buyer's inspection. Since I live in NorCal my realtor handled the service visit. Great company. Honest and thorough. I received several quotes to replace a new AC unit for a rental property. 20th Century answered all my questions and were prompt with responding. They were not the lowest quote I received, but I wasn't going for lowest price anyway. I wanted a company that was reliable and knew what they were doing. Daniel was very informative. Once installation was completed, payment was supposed to be made, but due to timing, I was unable to pay them (via check) before they left. I offered to drop off payment to their office in Anaheim, but Daniel told me that it wasn't an issue and that he would be in the area the next day. This was very kind and considerate of them. We were thinking about getting a multi zone mini split AC system installed before the summer so we reached out to a few companies and Ryan from 20th Century Air came to our house for a thorough estimate within a day or two. We received the pricing within a few hours and it was very competitive so we ended up going with 20th Century Air over a few competing bids. We scheduled the installation for the next week and Robert, the point person for the job, and his crew completed the 4-zone system installation in less than two days. The installation looks very clean and the indoor heads are less obtrusive than I thought they would be. 20th Century Air also handled the permitting process and they were careful to ensure that the work is up to code for our city (Long Beach). I have a split AC unit and the unit started to make noises. This company sent a technician and it was found to be a pump issue and the old pump was replaced by a new pump with about $400. However after one month, the noise sound came back again and technician was sent again to fix it with additional cost. After a month or so while the split ac unit started to leak water. The reason based on them was that the drain pipe was clogged. The technician was sent to fix this again for additional costs. After one month, the leak happened again even to the ceiling. The technician never fixed the drain pipe issues and just let the drain pipe dangle into the attic and lead into the ceiling. Asked them again and no response any more. I spent about $1000 and did not get the thing fixed. The whole repair experience is really frustrating and disappointing. I later find a much more competent AC company and the problem has been completely fixed. So not recommended at all. read more

While the fee is very reasonable for 45 min of work, I'm only interested in solving the problem, not inexpensive rates that don't solve. We paid by cash and received no receipt or any documentation otherwise the claim of offering a solution that we rejected (we are desperate to fix the issue due to an infant struggling to sleep when ac doesn't work, so no idea why we would reject a fix) could be cleared up. read more
