UPDATED* 9/24/26 Spoke with manager Mike and he agreed that I was not supposed to be charged for a clog clearance with my membership, but it was going to take some extra work to get that refunded so he counter offered 6 months paid membership ($120 value), I paid $150 for that service, so shorted $30, but I will take it. Deflection, lack of accountability for anything, bad look for holding the manager position. Contacted by Supervisor Jesenia who reached out twice, yesterday and again today, we were able to speak about everything in length and detail. Jesenia who had been with the company for some years (+10) was able to represent the brand excellently. She completely understood the situation, gave logical reasoning on the misrepresentation of the brand, and accountability and ownership was taken. End result, she made it right, refunding the entire amount of $699 and 1 year membership paid ($240 value). This will give Service Champions another opportunity for redemption and show they still have good technicians and they are a company that stands on their brand moto. Changed star rating from 1 to 4 because a single person, Yesenia, can make a difference in brand representation, appreciate her time and effort in looking into this issue, making it right and exemplifying that every customer is important, Thank you Jesenia. Initially 1 star rating due issue below - VISIT DATE: 9/22/26 Problem: Water was leaking from my air handling box primary line in my attic which caused some ceiling damage. Action: Being a member of Service Champions I called them out to clear the clogs in the line which is part of the service I pay for monthly. Senior Tech Jason Gomez / Tech Donavon Saario both came out. Job they conducted: 1) Clear the line which was the p-trap under the sink. ($150 they charged, though was included) 2) During their inspection they noticed my air handling box primary and secondary lines were installed backwards, needed a swap. ($150) 3) Install a safe-T switch (water overflow switch) in line with my secondary line ($399) Issues: Overcharged / Lack of integrity & loss of my trust 1) Overcharged - The safe-T switch is a $40 switch that took about 15 minutes to install, the PVC pipe to swap over the lines another 15-20 minutes but about 2ft of total pipe *picture (Attic work) and cleaning the p-trap under the sink *picture, wouldn't that be part of clearing any lines? Materials, I say would cost total of $100 being VERY conservative. So they charged me $600 for about 1 hour of work plus parts. REDICULOUS! 2) Lack of integrity and loss my trust - After they cleaned my condenser (part of the service) we went to go over the work they will conduct. The senior tech joined the other tech and was trying to advise me, then being the experts that I had a refrigerant leak. They wanted to do this inspection that cost $699 same as the cost of what they told me it would cost for the above work, "they didn't want to nickel and dime me" and if I don't fix the leak, the coils can freeze over and a big block of ice can form and destroy my ceiling with water damage! They mentioned they didn't see any residue leaks from the condenser and it would most likely be in the attic at the coil. COST: $4,000 (if current equip is warranty) / $7,000 (if not) I told the tech after the senior tech left that I will just get the above work done, possibly call them out later. I had been a lead aircraft mechanic several years, so I did my quick research from the numbers they got and looking into the MFG manual for my system. System: Lennox ML14XC1-060-230A04 Fieldpiece Measurements (see picture) showed all my readings were on point, 78degree weather at the time if you guys are less technical and want to plug this into google AI. Basically though refrigerant was perfect to the temp we had, TXV was feeding my indoor coil efficiently without flooding liquid refrigerant back to the compressor. Delta T was 71 and 50 which 21 degrees difference is exceptional! They were trying to get me into a $7,000 dollar deal, note they get paid also on jobs (commision). read more

2,000+ I had Service champions come out to do a free inspection of the air-conditioning unit. I was told I needed the $12,000 worth of free doing my ductwork. I did that. The day before they were going to do all that work I had the free plumbing inspection where I was told I would need to do $18,000 worth of free Plumbing. I asked for the hot water tank to be flushed and a snake to be run in the kitchen. Neither of those things happened, I guess because I wasn't willing to spend $18,000 plus the 12,000 within a week. When I called to say well, I guess I need to cancel the air-conditioning over the plumbing. I was told that wasn't necessary. When I called to cancel the monthly service, I was told oh well when the guys come out for the heating inspection, will put in the note that the owner doesn't want to know if there's any problems with her issues. Then why would I have a service. The people that came were very friendly, sales people definitely like to talk and tell you everything that you really need to know I felt the Plumbing person was building up to the large bill The two guys that came to install the ducks in the attic were amazing. While the sales people wanted to put additional vents in the house, I was told it was overkill. And not necessary. Yes, the air conditioner is working and feeling much cooler. I'm not sure if it was worth $12,000 that I had to take out of savings. I would not use Service champions for Plumbing or any other service. read more

Careful if you need immediate service. I did the yelp quote and I told them what I need and put my number. Their bot calls me back within the hour, and we make an appt for 2 days later. No one shows up so I try to call the number and I'm talking to their bot again. They say they have no record of my appt. The bot even knew our number from having an account, so they had our address and info. I scheduled another appt in 2 days (my mistake). Again, no show so I call another company and they take care of it. Two days later, a Service Champions guy shows up at our front door and says he's here for the appt. They need to sort out their AI customer service ASAP. read more

We called a technician to clean our air conditioner, but instead, they ended up damaging it. Now they even want us to pay to have it repaired! What a huge inconvenience they have caused us! We have been paying for the insurance every month for four years, but we never had to use it until now! On top of that, we are the ones being made to look like we are at fault and are being forced to pay to fix something that they damaged. I wish we had never let them touch our air conditioner in the first place. They seem very good at taking advantage of people just to make money. This has been such a huge hassle for us. We have been without air conditioning for two days now because of their poor workmanship. Please be careful with Dominic and the company itself!!! These guys are not HVAC technicians, and they are not salesman either -- they are just a bunch of inexperienced scammers. They dispatched Blake over, who kept making comments about everything he saw in my home, asking if I live alone and then proceeded to call me a baller. What kind of technician does that? This behavior alone is beyond inappropriate and unprofessional and of course it made me feel extremely uncomfortable. He then sent a second guy over half an hour later, Steve, who allegedly has over 20 years of experience and will provide a more detailed inspection. Looking back, this process feels very "staged" as other reviewers are also saying that they experience the same thing. They both looked at my furnace, which is only a little over a year old and has barely any rust on the interior, quickly concluded that the entire AC unit needs to be replaced and quoted me $29K for it. They both kept trying to upsell it to me and pushed me to join their membership program. At this point, I knew something real fishy was going on so I kicked them out. Within the next few days, I had two other HVAC companies come out. I was informed by both that the minor cosmetic rust is nothing to be worried about, that my unit is working just fine and is far from needing a replacement, let alone a repair. But everyone is entitled to another chance, and as stated we did have an excellent relationship for a number of years. Enter 19 year old Landon MacGill, Service Technician for Service Champions, a motivated young man with a terrific smile. Totally disarmed, I welcomed his explanation of what Service Champions would be accomplishing for me that day. While obtaining a system tuneup was appreciated, this review is for Landon and an applause for Service Champions in their decision to hire such a young employee...seeing the determination and possibilities this young man could bring to their service oriented business. Keep Landon on Service Champions, nurture his goal to be of benefit and service to others. Landon does your company proud and has won back the return of a customer who, without meeting this young man, would most probably not have been as welcoming with the arrival of another technician. I'm giving it a 3 star instead of a 1 star because later the manager came out and attempted to make things right. We did appreciate that, but hear me out ....Our experience with Service Champions felt like a high-pressure sales presentation disguised as a service call. What was especially disturbing is that we were urged to replace an HVAC system that two completely independent HVAC companies later evaluated and said did not need to be replaced. With a salesperson involved in the visit, changing prices, added incentives, and pressure to make a decision that day, it felt as though the priority was closing a sale rather than looking out for us as customers. The technician who initially arrived was courteous. Shortly afterward, another employee arrived and was presented to us as the technician's supervisor. I later learned that this person was actually in sales, not a technician. The salesperson showed the technician where to hook up the meter, and the negative readings they obtained were then used to tell us that our system was failing and needed replacement. We were initially quoted over $17,000. When we declined, the price dropped to a little under $17,000 and additional incentives and extras were offered. The report later emailed to me raised even more concerns. It did not reflect what we had been told during the appointment. It began by discussing an air conditioner and then inexplicably switched to a water heater. It also did not include the photographs of the meter readings or diagnostic information that had supposedly supported the recommendation to replace our system. I requested a corrected report showing the actual photographs, readings, and diagnostic findings. We then had two separate HVAC companies independently inspect the system, and both told us there was nothing wrong with the unit that would warrant replacement. What I find most troubling is that Service Champions prominently presents itself as a Christian company. When a business chooses to identify itself that way, I believe it should hold itself to an especially high standard of honesty and integrity. In our experience, the questionable diagnosis, pressure tactics, changing price, and effort to sell us an unnecessary replacement system felt deceptive and scam-like. Using Christianity as part of a company's identity while treating customers this way is, in my opinion, shameful. I would strongly encourage anyone who receives a major repair or replacement recommendation from this company to get an independent second opinion before agreeing to anything. I do want to end on a positive note. After we raised our concerns, the manager took the time to listen, was kind and respectful, and genuinely tried to make things right. While that does not erase what happened during the original visit, I truly appreciated his willingness to hear us out and make an effort to resolve the situation. read more

I called 1 hour after the time & day they scheduled to do my estimate, i didn't hear from anyone all day, when I did call them they put me on hold for 10min before coming back and telling me someone didn't put me on the schedule and the best they could do was to schedule me for the next day. When I was looking for a company to help me with my plumbing problem I told them that I needed this service fast because the house is for sell and im showing it to perspective buyers, they assured me that they could help. All they did was waste my day waiting for them and now I have to push the selling day off again. I am writing this to warn other local homeowners about the predatory sales tactics used by Service Champions. During a recent visit, their technician went into my attic and claimed I had dangerous, exposed asbestos, trying to use a health scare to pressure me into immediately buying a brand-new AC system. Thankfully, I didn't panic. I hired an independent, certified professional asbestos testing company to inspect the attic. The professional report proved that the material is fully contained and completely safe. Service Champions completely fabricated a health hazard just to trap me into a high-dollar sale. To make it worse, the sales rep refused to give me a written copy of the quote, telling me I had to agree to the terms first. This is highly illegal under California consumer law. I threw them out of my house and nothing was signed, but please be incredibly careful if you use this company. If they tell you that you have an "emergency" or a "hazard" in your attic, do not believe them. Always get a second opinion from an independent professional. read more

From Seth pulling up in front of our house - The same afternoon from when I called customer service in the morning..... Seth was very honest with the both of us - And I am sure a lot of you can tell if someone is not telling you the truth! And then Seth went above & beyond - To drive all the way back to Brea to bring that portable AC unit back to our house for my disabled husband. This was last Friday late afternoon traffic on the northbound 57 freeway. And to Steve for coming to our house - As Seth was on his way to Brea & setting up our installation for Sat morning. I would not recommend Service champions as they are way over priced. I initially, called for ac maintenance and they sold me the monthly contract to service any repairs for ac/heating and plumbing. They told me it would cover any water heater maintenance for free and that is not the case. I have a tankless water heater. Just called for my water heater to be descaled. The 2 guys that came out did not do the work that was requested, instead said I needed a new regulator and a pipe was leaking, which was $2016.00 & later after they left I realized they did not do the service I requested which is mandatory every year. I called an independent plumber which did the descaling, fixed the pipe leak and the regulator was changed out for less than $600.00. I will be cancelling the monthly service. read more

Had the work done and now I can't get them to get a final inspection or even answer a few questions I have. I have used Service Champions for nearly a decade. When I lived with my parents, my first condo, now my first home... Now I am done.. Their quality has dropped greatly over the years. There have been a few decent techs but for the most part I have to say I am done using them and hearing them push things which don't need to be done and at their 300-500% mark-up. It was an eye opening experience when the tech recommended a water heater replacement over my request for a maintenance quote. Then gave me a quote of almost $3000 for swapping it out. I called later that day to cancel their maintenance plan - which they push out on everyone (Don't get it! ). The techs are friendly but some are just plain lazy. I initially called for a toilet line unclogging mind you. This didn't get done either. I called another plumbing company, who sent me someone who was able to unclog the line in 5mins of being upstairs. Showed me the tool and how I could avoid the issue in the future. No pushing, just reasonable cost service with no sales agenda. read more

UPDATE: In my original review, I was disappointed with communication during my project. I just wanted to be heard so that the company would be aware of this concern. I'm pleased that a manager reached out to me to get my feedback on my large project and my experience. I felt much better and felt heard after our conversation. This is a company I trust and that takes care of their workers. Companies work hard to build a reputation and it takes only one slip to tarnish that image. Projects should be done with you and not to you, and I felt like they heard that message. Will I continue to use this company exclusively? Yes. Taking the time to listen to customers, although not pleasant, is part of the process of maintaining quality. Thanks again to the company for reaching out to me. Previous review. I've been using this company for years to do tune-ups and for some smaller projects. Recently I did a major plumbing project with them, and I'm less than satisfied with the communication and lack of customer care that I experienced from their salespeople and central office. The work done by the actual plumbers was great and the job was done efficiently. What stinks is the lack of hand-holding or even follow-through by sales or anyone with oversight of the project. Complete failure. It's a good thing I knew about the permit process and got it done but I had to prompt their central office for follow-up each time. I had my old HVAC system replaced by Service Champions in early June 2026 - they did a wonderful job. Efficient, professional, respectful of property. It was completed in one day. The system works great! The installment team (Elian Rincon, Jonathan Trejo, & Louis Altamirano) led by Shane Preciado (who had to deal with my HOA) could not have been better! I live on the 3rd floor of a condo comlex, so a crane had to be used to remove the old rooftop unit and place the new unit up there. Everything went like clockwork. Keep up the great work! The state inspector and city inspector came as scheduled and approved the work with no revisions necessary. The city inspector was impressed with the quality of work done and asked me to pass his compliments along to Service Champions and their workmen. read more

Requested a kitchen sink clean out. They advertised a great price so decided to call them for one of my apartments. The plumber told me that he could not clear the drain line because it was too old. The line is old made of cast iron. Basically, he could not locate the stoppage. He then told me that he needed to replace about 2 feet of cast iron pipe with plastic. He told me the entire repair would be just short of $5000. The next day I called the plumbing company I have used for years on my apartment. They sent a technician out and located the area that was causing the stoppage and cleaned it out and water is again free flowing. ($89.00) Service Champions recently entered the plumbing business and does not know what they are doing. Do not call them for any plumbing repair. read more
