We used Yad Construction based on a recommendation from a friend. We have had them complete a wet bar installation in our downstairs and renovations on our master and guest bathroom. This involved adding plumbing to the lower level and additional electrical, as well as a full gut in a master bathroom including changing out a glass block window. The team was very communicative and were able to come out and complete the jobs very efficiently. We were able to communicate changes and updates with no problem and they were able to make great suggestions that expanded on what we already wanted, such as heated floors and design elements in the shower that we had not thought of. The tile work that they complete is beautiful and very thoughtfully done. The quality and value you receive is excellent and we are very happy with everything they have completed for us. I was 9 months pregnant at the end of the bathroom jobs and they came out and did a deep clean of the bathrooms and any dust that has accumulated from the construction so I could bring my new baby back to a clean home. They were able to meet their proposed timeline even with changes and some delays by ensuring we had daily visits from workers to keep the project moving. I reached out to YAD constructuon after we had damages to our garage and den from a drain pipe freezing during the polar vortex. Yaw, Danny and team were great to work with. They were prompt to arrive and were readily accesible via phone, email or text. He adjusted his schedule to work with me and made sure our project was a priority since we had no dividing wall from garage to den and heat was an issue. Once the work started, the crew was professional, hardworking with beautiful reasults. Every night before they left they would clean up the working area. Absolutely horrible with a lot of unnecessary attitude. All the work performed had to be done over. Yaw was initially hired to complete an update and a kitchen rehab. To my dismay, the floors and molding are separating and raising up. The shower glass door leaks. Paint work is sloppy, garbage was left everywhere and various workers were sub-contracted to complete the job. Overall experience was horrible and a complete waste of time and money. read more

In my opinion. I would find someone else to do your home repair. Used inferior material. Work was terribly done.I only saw Yad when he came to collect money. Pretends to be concerned about your requests and never does them. Had to fight him tooth and nail just to get him to honor the contract. His subcontractor destroyed my heating duct, but Yad refused to fix it correctly. read more

All I can say is be careful with Yaw. He was scheduled to perform work for me on 1/29/19 he showed up to pick up his deposit and when I requested that I wanted receipts for my material he had a problem with it. He also wanted me to sign a different contract agreement different from the one that was originally signed. We had an agreed on material budget but he only wanted me to look for things online and he would order it, he did not want to give me any measurements of the square footage which would have made it hard for me to know pricing. All I am saying is BECAREFUL... I terminated my contract and went with a different company. read more

Yaw fully renovated my condo in old town. I had water damage and he helped me work with the insurance company to ensure I got sufficient funds for the repair work. He was super transparent and honest and very communicative. Never once would he not pick up the phone or not call me back within 2 minutes. Honest guy who works hard and does some work himself, and subs some of it to others. He would go on me with trips to home depot, cabinet stores, tile stores, etc... to make sure I was getting what I wanted. His subcontractors who did my countertops were phenomenal. Some very small mis-alignments with my cabinets but nothing major and far better than my originally installed cabinets. On top of my fantastic renovation, Yaw has been there for me for two small issues that have come up (air conditioning and plumbing unrelated to his renovation). He is so helpful and the only guy I would go to in Chicago for any major repair work. For handyman work you can probably find someone cheaper but for the price Yaw charged me he was very fair and did an excellent job. Probably increased the value of my condo by 60k with 35k of work.
