A couple of days ago I went to this place to get a pedi done that I've gonna a couple of time but this time was differen, I walked in and they told me I was gonna wait 30min and I said okay, next 2 women walk in a wait then 5-10 min later they take them in (I thought they had an appointmen) witch they didn't, then a woman and a men walk him take a sit for 5-10 min and they they tell them to go and that's when I said yeah they racist bcz they know told them two people (white people) and I told the manager u told me it was gonna be 30 min and it's been almost an hr so what is the reason you are skipping me for and she looked at me with her eyes wide open and said oh you next and sat me in a chai, but she lying bcz if I would of have never said anything she would have done the other 2 and I would have waited till they there done with them. Welp! I haven't done my nails in a couple of years; honestly I'm pretty particular and haven't had the best of luck finding some where I liked enough to return. I've now been to Y Nails twice and I can say I've found a new comfortable nail salon. My mom and I have both been and have enjoyed our treatment both times. The first time we asked for themed nails for the Christmas holiday and the second for the New Year. Everyone is friendly, the tools are clean and come out of their own sterilized packages. Valerie is my go too, she's funny and determined to make sure my nail polish lasts longer then three days. I have been going to Y Nails since I moved to Bastrop three years ago, and have always had an excellent experience! I normally make an appointment and when I get there I never have to wait. They have four different options of pedicures and their massage chairs are very nice. There is a very friendly vibe to this place and they always welcome me by my name when I walk in. I just recently moved to Bastrop and was in search of a new nail salon. I stumbled across this place because it had pretty decent reviews. The first time I went, I felt a little out of place because everyone knew everyone. I got a pedi and dip nails. My toes came out decent. My nails were just okay, and I broke two pretty quickly after getting them done. I did go back to give this place another shot and was impressed. My nails turned out way better. They still had some flaws, but all nail places have flaws. The flaws were minimal and my nails were definitely better than most places I've had them done in Austin. I will continue to go back, especially now that they know my name and are just very friendly. read more

This salon has a bit of an attitude! The owner, Sharon, calls everyone "lady"...remember the old Jerry Lewis movies? Maybe you're too young for that and maybe she won't yell "lady" at you. But, after going about 10 or 15 times and still hearing her yell "lady" at me, I quietly told her my name and asked if she could use that in the future. Well that was months ago, but I think she held the grudge. Today when I walked in, she looked like something smelled bad. Eventually, she told the technician that they did not have time to do my regular pedicure--which is a request for more massage and less goop. They could, however, do a pedicure that takes longer--but not time to do the one I always get. Clear indication, she didn't want my business any longer. Which is fine. Oddly enough, several other women in my neighborhood have mentioned the owner's attitude and now I see why. In reality the salon is dated and the equipment is as well. Valerie is an excellent technician if you can get by the snarliness. Mimi also does a great job. Can't say much for the quality when I've just 'walked in' and got mani/pedi's from the staff there. We won't be back. If you chose to try, good luck. It's not worth my time to pay people who are toxic. I'm looking for good service with a GREAT ATTITUDE. And, it is not here. read more

I got the best gel manicure and spa pedicure I have had in Bastrop. Valarie was my nail tech and she made my beat up Tom boy nails look great! Horrible. Drilled my nail down to the skin and charged me full price for it. Told them I still had dip powder on after they tried to take it off my nail from my last set and was told by them that not all of it will come off. Then continued to drill my nails and now they are paper thin. Couldn't even file them straight and most of them are crooked. They ruined my nails and now I have to wait until they completely grow out. My nails hurt/burn when I put even a little pressure on them. I had them stop and just put clear gel instead of the color I picked out because I just wanted to get out of there. Please save your time and your money and go somewhere else. They very obviously do not know how to take care of nails. read more

I have been going to this salon for quite a few years now. I love it! It's absolutely the best nail salon in Bastrop. Awesome service and results every time. I love the choices for the colors as well, from regular polish, to SNS (dip), and Gel. If it's not perfect they fix it. Sometimes you can walk into places, but on a whim, I called Y Nails and made an appointment, and I am glad I did. When I got to the salon, they had a sign on the door that said "Appointment Only," so just be on notice about that. They were busy so I saw why they prefer appointments. They were incredibly nice. My toe nails had not been trimmed in a while due to two knee replacement surgeries. They were careful, but thorough. My toes look fabulous! Very clean salon. They are professionals.
