VIP Nails -- Absolutely Horrifying Customer Service
I went to VIP Nails at 11:00 because I wanted to give a brand-new local business a chance. Instead, I experienced some of the most disrespectful customer service I've ever encountered at a nail salon.
The first technician was rude from the start. She made my naturally square nails round without ever asking me what shape I wanted. When I spoke up, she became hostile toward me. I should have left right then.
Instead, they moved me to Lana, the second technician, and I thought things were finally going to be okay.
Before Lana applied my color, I asked, "Should I wash my hands first?" She snapped, "No, you don't need to do that." She then applied the polish, and there was dust and hair in the color.
I wasn't being difficult. I simply pointed it out and asked if I could wash my hands so we could do it properly. Apparently, after I'd already spoken up once about my nail shape, that was one complaint too many for them.
Lana told me to go wash my hands.
I did.
When I came back, my table was empty. Lana had left.
Then she turned around and said mockingly, "My other client came."
I had been sitting there for over an hour. They hadn't even finished my manicure or put my color on.
Then the manager came over and told me, essentially, I wasn't getting my color.
Think about that.
A customer arrives at 11:00, patiently waits, accepts being moved from one technician to another, politely asks for the nail shape she wants, asks a reasonable question about washing her hands, points out obvious dust and hair in the polish--and the reward is being abandoned at the table and told her service simply isn't going to be finished.
This wasn't customer service. It was disrespectful, arrogant, and completely unacceptable behavior.
And let me be very clear: I did not leave with my tail between my legs. I walked out knowing exactly what I was going to do--tell other people what happened so they can make an informed decision about where they spend their money.
I went straight to Great Nails, where I normally go, and they did an amazing job.
VIP Nails had an opportunity to make a great first impression. Instead, they showed me exactly how they treat a customer who simply expects basic professionalism and respect.
Horrifying experience. I will never return, and I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more
