I do not recommend this salon for waxing. The lady who was waxing my lower legs did not know how to properly hold down skin when pulling on the wax strip, causing lots of excruciating pain. Skilled estheticians know that when it comes to using wax strips, it is important to check in with the client about the temperature and to keep the skin from lifting with the strip and hair. The tech I had didn't bother to ask and I had to sit up and say "it's hurting!" ZERO STARS. This place is run by crooked amateurs. My wife came in for a pedicure. Paid full price for a full massage and hot stone treatment. The "new" person that did her nails did a horrible job. They had to redo her nails. My wife had a double mastectomy 4 weeks ago. Came here last minute to get my nails done and my friend for her toes done. I got the deluxe manicure With gel polish. I got a cinnamon whip. The manicure itself wasn't bad at all. When she was painting my nails I had to point out that some of the nails weren't smooth. Finished product, one nail has some bumps on it. The color itself doesn't match what the color was on the ones you picked out. She put lotion on my whole arm, up to my shoulder, and gave it a nice rub. Loved that. She then put oil on my hands and the paraffin wax on my hands. Aannnddd a mask on my arms. My favorite part of the whole thing. Everyone was very nice, and they had a lot of options. However, the woman who did my pedicure ripped out my "ingrown" (they were not painful or hurting me when I went in) toenails all the way down to the quick, and they bled and were extremely painful. I did not ask her to do this, she did it on her own and before I could say stop she was already halfway through ripping them. She then proceeded to do it on the other toe even though she could tell I was in pain. Both sides of both of my big toes are now infected, and I'm having to take antibiotics to clear it up. I've had the lavender pedicure here twice and had a wonderful experience both times. The technician massages my feet and legs while the chair messages my back and neck. Heaven. Usually love this place but today is the last time I'll ever go. Sam was so rude and very unprofessional. I went in for a nail repair which would take less than 5 minutes. I explained I had my kids so I would come back when it was my turn so they wouldn't be loud. They told me to come back in 30 minutes so I did, only for them to get another customer before me so I continued to wait inside for another 30+ minutes. At this point my baby started to fuss and that's when Sam said he would fix my nail. I've been here a few times and it was okay. I went for a pedi about 2 weeks ago. I picked a regular polish; it was like a highlighter neon yellow. An older man did my toes and the pedi itself was good but I could tell his was putting the polish on THICK. I could tell it wasn't going to fry after sitting there for a while waiting on a friend. So I spoke up and asked if he thought it was going to fry because it was so thick the top coat was starting to ripple. He proceeded to add ANOTHER layer of color and then decided to take it al off and redo them. However the Sam situation was happening. They were rippling. Long story short it took 5 try's of fully redoing them to have him say, "gel is better". I was in a hurry with a baby at home so I agreed to move forward with gel. The gel turned out fine however I was charged for the gel. They have a menu...and boy did I need it...at first glance I thought those are some expensive pedicures but I went with the mandarin+mango spa pedicure...so let me tell you about the beautiful glass bowls your feet will be soaking in...they are gorgeous...the massage chair alone was worth the $43 dollars I paid...this pedicure went on for an hour it had different scrubs and lotions and massages and the peach wax with hot towel wrap was amazing...this is not the type of pedicure you get every time but if you find your self over worked and stressed out and need a break...this was so great I didn't feel rushed at all which I liked. Since she is 11 I asked them to only wax the middle of her eyes brows, the lady agreed. yet when we came out of wax room they had wax entire shaping. Several of the nail places in Bastrop are owned by one family. Their nail technicians are good and not so good. My major beef with them is that they do not honor appointment times...I had to wait 30 minutes to an hour for my appointment while my technician handles a walkin.
