Stopped by for a coffee.. Never been here and like supporting places other than SBX.. Iced coffee pretty standard but reason for review is Guy working seemed bothered and meh -_____- looked up other reviews seems like it's pretty common read more

One of my favorite places to have a hot chocolate w/almond milk now that the weather is slightly cooler. Relaxed casual atmosphere and a nice vibe to chill and enjoy a cozy warm beverage. read more

Loved this place! I only got a hot chocolate (almond milk) but it was tasty (I mean, who can ruin hot chocolate?). I studied there for two hours. Music in the background, loved the aura around the place- super chill. read more

Xtreme Bean Coffee - The menu - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

Very flavorful cappuccino, pastries looked good but need to watch the calories, so cappuccino was my splurge. Place has been here almost forever and it weathered lockdown. Always best to support local. Check schedule for live music updates read more

This place always has a chill atmosphere and excellent staff. Today I ordered a new coffee they advertised called the "cherry bomb" and loved it. I decided to try one of their breakfast sandwiches for the first time and ordered a "MikeyBean" on a croissant. $7 for this sandwich and you get what you pay for, cinnamon honey butter combined with eggs, bacon and cheddar cheese. The sandwich was amazing and a good size, I highly recommend it as well as the "cherry bomb". read more

don't do separate orders. naysays be trifling. i love mom do you? dua lipas really hot

The baristas are rude as fuck. The blonde barista gets off on having authority; she should try Mesa police instead of customer service (it makes sense why their tip jar was extremely low for 12 pm). I was served a very very cold bagel. When I taken back the bagel, I asked if they toasted them and the girl with the box braids rudely said "they should be toasted!"... I'm confused. I get my tires rotated, etc at Discount Tire and I usually see this place whenever I'm getting my car worked on. It was my first time coming in and definitely will be my last. I know recent University Freshman (which I assume these two baristas are because of their lack of emotion) seem to set their mark and be "independent"... but at least do bare minimum emotionally. You'd think they have better service for having heavy foot traffic. read more

The farmer & a cold brew staff is always nice and the inside is cozy. Wi-Fi is free of course.

I've been coming over here for over 15 years because I love their ice Toddys but lately the place has gone downhill and multiple times my order has been wrong. I don't know if they are low staffed, people are burnt out or not enough pay or what the deal is? I came here last Sunday 4/10/22 waited 20 mins in the drive through so I decided to go inside I ended up waiting another 25+ minutes for my drink for a total of approx 45mins+. There was a cute girl working with a nose ring and eye glasses that was working that told me she just started working there & used to work at Starbucks. She was literally slaving away making 20+ drinks by herself at the front expresso machine, going 100 miles an hour running the entire store and doing the work of 10 people while 2 young girls just stood there and watched while they talked to an older man who seemed to work there or be a manger of some sort? This poor girl with the nose ring, I would have given her $100 cash if I could. No one seemed to be helping her except this young guy with salt & pepper gray hair. The whole scene was a mess. Pitchers of milk exploding everywhere while the 2 young girls just stood there & stared into space. I don't know if they were in training or what? But they didn't seem to be doing anything except standing there. After waiting for 45 mins, I had to ask for my drink again & as it got lost in the shuffle & my order for my breakfast sandwich was wrong, by this time I missed my plans with my friends as I was supposed to meet them in Scottsdale so I just left. I hope the friendly nose ring girl gets promoted to manager as she can run the entire show. Being a former barista myself, the place was a mess. Also one one other comment, I observed with the staff: Stirring eggs on a hot surface with plastic 1 time use forks is not a good look. I don't want to eat BPA melted plastic in my eggs. Yuck! Hopefully they can find a wooden spatula of some sort that doesn't ruin the environment and people's health! Last note, I know how hard running a business can be. I don't think it's the owners fault! I just want to bring awareness to the issues!! Sending love! read more

I'm so sad to write a negative review about my favorite coffee place. I've gone to Xtreme Bean for at least 6 years running, more than once every week. I don't go cause their coffee is perfect - sometimes it's burned. I don't go because they always get my order right - sometimes they don't. No Xtreme Bean has my loyalty because it seemed to me they were loyal to their employees: people who were friendly and sincere. There's so much to recommend Xtreme bean - the drinks are good, the food is good. It's inexpensive and it's Arizona. But I can't go any longer. None of the workers are using masks. Not one. When I order my normal drink through the drive through and pull up, I can see the person making my drink talking on the headset to the car in line behind me. Talking over my drink cup as they make it. So I can't go any longer. I don't understand why this is their policy - but it's exceedingly disappointing. Please, if you all read this, mask up. It's for your customers safety. read more

Wow how do you screw up coffee and a bagel? By not listening or giving two cents about your customer. Coffee Extra Cream One sugar, Bagel Toasted Well Cream Cheese, what did I get, black coffee and a non toasted bagel with some running white goop, if you can't handle this job, head in the clouds blonde girl good luck at a real job my god... you obviously hate your job and don't want t be there... I'll go back to Steves up the street, this place and employee stinks... read more

Just ordered a drink through the drive through just a little while ago. The girl at the window was exceptionally helpful with figuring out my loyalty. Also, whoever made my drink this morning-Outstanding. The last few times not quite as perfect but this time perfection. Thank you read more

This is a cool little coffee shop! I usually don't spend a whole lot of time in Tempe, but I was there and checked this place out yesterday and was pleased! First off the baked goods looked delicious! A cinnamon roll, some kind of red velvet cake roll, everything looked awesome. I was not very hungry though so I went straight for the tea. It was a little later so I wanted a decaffinated tea, and I was pleased to find that there was a wide variety of loose leaf teas! It was hard to choose, but I went with the Euca-Mint, it was very good, I liked it a lot. I also enjoyed all of the cool artwork that they had up! I would totally come back here if I'm in the area again. read more

Great place to hang out! A lot selection for drinks... I had the green teat freshly brewed. The staff is very helpful. Spacious inside and out. They open pretty late, so it was nice to sit and chat with friends after dinner. read more

I came here on the recommendation from a friend so I had high hopes. It was my first time there so I obviously wanted to look over the menu for a moment (no one was in line behind me) but the barista seemed annoyed from the start. She offered no help and I felt like I needed to just order. The guy who made my drink was nicer and attempted to make conversation at least. The shop is cute, but it was honestly grubby inside. Due to that I decided to sit outside, but the tables were all rickety and it smelled like straight up smoke and cigarettes. The drink was OK but overly sweet. read more

I've been coming here sporadically for a few years. It seems to get worse but idk maybe it's always been mediocre. The pastries are stale and the espresso in the drinks does not taste fresh/good. It has plenty of available seating/desks for studying. It's a nice study spot at least. read more

I've frequented Xtreme Bean a lot throughout my undergrad, grad and professional years. At each stage of my life I have always been satisfied coming here, regardless if I was writing my thesis, studying for classes or meeting with colleagues. Their coffee is a lot of bang for your buck and it is tasty! It can seem a little pricey but the sizes are easily a size up from what you would expect. I personally really appreciate that they roast their own coffee and that they have an extensive syrup and tea list. So you really can bring anyone here and they'll be happy. In fact, my boyfriend actively goes out of his way to get their Mocha X. The only drawback is the it is often difficult to find an outlet since they are so busy and sometimes it can feel run down with things being broken like an outlet or a crack in the counter. read more

Went yesterday to try it and the customers service was amazing & I got a Thai Iced Tea got an amazing price they had live music as well which was very awesome I enjoyed it very much. The girl with the glasses was awesome she was very helpful I didn't notice they give refill for Thai iced tea and she suggested to get Pomegranate green tea which it cost 70 cents and she gave me it for free cause I wasn't over a dollar purchase but loved it. I will visit here again read more

I used to live in AZ a few years back and go to this coffee shop frequently. I loved their coffee. A few days ago, I visited and ordered a few drinks. All the latte orders were supposed to have syrup, and we could honestly BARELY tell that there was any in there. I remember their coffee was very rich in flavor in the past. What happened? I had already driven away by the time we tasted our coffee drinks, but we were so disappointed. Why are they skimping on syrup? As a European, I usually tend to think American lattes have too much syrup, but in this case I literally could BARELY taste it and so did the others that I bought the coffee for. Sad, a good memory turned sour. read more

Awesome environment to work in or chat with a friend. Plenty of diverse seating and room options. There is even a VAULT - how cool! Bathrooms are outside and a lil sketch/dirty but inside of the shop is clean. Staff is friendly and willing to help. I was even able to order a side of banana + PB for $0.81 - best deal ever! I ordered espresso over ice and it was The art is fun and the beans are heavenly - even bought a bag of seasonal beans Christmas Cookies to take home. read more

Meh. Not excited anymore about this place. It's been a while since I have been, but I'm probably not ever coming back unless I'm at the point where I'd prostitute myself for some caffeine. I used to study here until I realized how many people smoke here. They get colds more easily. They touch stuff. I got sick after being here a few times over the years. Anyway, I figured I'd get the old toffee coffee frap as a nice treat but Even the frappichino can't mask the burnt roast. Plus it doesn't really taste too nice anymore. With places like Black Rock and Dutch bros, no need to come here for sweet drinks. With Infusions and Press right up the street, no need to come here for pretty much anything. Ever. read more

I'll start by praising the staff, who are always great and hardworking. But beyond that, this place is a dump. An institution of sorts in central Tempe, it has inexplicably maintained its popularity, largely because ownership doesn't mind students, working people, and various down-and-outers, spending endless hours there without spending any money. I guess because of that, the owners haven't felt that upgrading the furniture after decades of use, or cleaning the place, is worth the clientele. And it is borderline unclean. If the coffee was anything beyond average it might be worth putting up with the environment. But with so many great coffee shops in Tempe, there's no reason to waste your time here. Try Infusion, Press on Rio Salado, Jasmine Jo, or even the annoyingly crowded and insufferably hipster Cartel instead. read more

I came into this cute looking coffee shop, as I was easily attracted to the name "Xtreme Bean...", I ordered my favorite coffee drink and sat down to enjoy my coffee... as I was sitting down enjoying the coffee shop I Instantly began to feel sick... Now that I've been coming back here for quite some time off and on, I feel qualified to write an updated review. Postives: *Open 24 hours on the weekends *drink menu is priced accordingly, with good drinks to chose from Negatives: *The internet connection here is AWEFUL. SLOW doesn't even begin to describe it. The staff just kind of shrugs it off, and I am left holding the ball trying to check email on a connection slower then dial up. *Bathrooms are outside the coffee house. Sometimes its locked and you have to get a key. This also means that if you brought a computer, you have to completely walk away from it, and trust that it will still be there when you return. Eh, yea, no not my idea of what I had in mind. Seating is decent, but not every table is accessable to a plug for computers. Again, limiting and annoying to say the least when I want to sit and check email for a period of time. read more

Quick service and pretty good customer service but the cold brew and drip coffee tasted burnt. I only tried the black cold brew and black dark roast. They seemed decently busy when I went around 10:30am so maybe I got the wrong things, but I prefer other places in the area. read more

Went with @quigonjinn and @mrsquigon, since they were driving. Nice place. Free WiFi, which I think any business that has seating should provide, as a matter of doing business. Great prices; $2 for a large house blend. (not a "venti" because it isn't fucking starbucks! and that's a good thing) Ample outdoor seating. There was a dude playing the piano inside. The re-purposed bank vault is cool as hell! A distance from where I live, but would go back if I were in the area and looking for coffee. read more

If I could make this zero stars, I would. Ordered food via Grubhub and my order was incorrect. I called the restaurant and the gentleman was extremely rude.I told him my order was wrong and that I want a refund. His response "the manager isn't here today and I'm gonna draw a hard line on that refund. You're gonna have to call Grubhub." He went on to say dealing with Grubhub is a nightmare and that he couldn't even say they made my order wrong that they could've gone in and picked up the wrong thing. Extremely rude. First and last time I will order anything from them. Or Grubhub for that matter. read more

Great neighborhood coffee shop with a ton of character and really cool staff! Love that they have decaf cold brew -- you can't find that almost anywhere else. Xtremely over steeped tea to the point that it was bitter, bitter coffee, very loud alternative grunge music from 10 years ago, somewhat rude and arrogant seeming baristas, and cold breakfast sandwiches. The place has potential but the staff seems like they don't really care. read more
