I was so happy to receive help from Arthur this morning. My car died in the middle of the street and required a tow truck to take it to the dealer. Art called me and informed that I would need to wait a while as he had other matters to take care of. I asked him if it would be possible to get help sooner as I am pregnant and it is one of the hottest days and I am stuck in a place with no shade in a black car. Art of Xpress Tow came to our rescue after my friend was sitting on the shoulder for 4 hours and her insurance company sent two different tow truck drivers who were dumbfounded on how to find her on the shoulder of the highway and canceled on her. Not only do they not contact you when they pick up your car, they let complete strangers sign off on your car without notifying you! Isn't this illegal?! Lol and then once they've dropped your car off your first contact is a text threatening that if you don't bring the $10 cash payment and arrive in 10 minutes they will take your property that to their tow storage yard. 0 STARS!! I was denied by the towing company to tow to my house as the driver stated it was illegal due to it was leaking fluids. The driver literally told me my only option was to bring it to their yard. This was a huge inconvenience to me as I was already standing in the cold for an hour since the guest who was renting my vehicle abandoned it after she hit a vehicle. I told the tow truck driver that I need it at my house and it is not illegal to take it there due to fluids leaking. I advised him I was the customer and he should take it where I request. I then added to drop the car off at the body shop and he said well I cant get it off his truck without a forklift. (Now I know he was just trying to make money now off of his lot). I advised him to leave and I'll get my own tow truck. He gladly left and didnt care at all. My tow truck arrived that I called, had the car up within 5 minutes, cleaned up and dropped the car off at the body shop (without the use of the forklift at all) I am totally disappointed and mad that this is the service of Xpress towing service. I wish there was a zero star service for reviews! This company treats their customers like absolute trash!!!! My insurance company scheduled a pick up for my car to be towed to a body shop at 7:30am this morning. I got a confirmation call that they were 45 mins out at 6:45am. THEY NEVER SHOWED OR ANSWERED THEIR PHONE. I ended up being a few minutes late for work, and they had the nerve to show up at 11am asking me to open the garage for them. Once I mentioned at they were late and that the pick up was for 7:30am, the driver gave me attitude, would not provide his name, and told me it wasn't his problem. I proceeded to call the manager, Mike, who admitted fault in dropping the ball, and then had the audacity to be EXTREMELY rude when I asked for them to reschedule for 7:30am sharp tomorrow. Trust the one star reviews. My insurance company assigned them to us. We wait 30 min (about 10 minutes til they are supposed to arrive and app is not showing them on way yet) and call them. Not only does he answer the phone unprofessionally, when I ask if they are on the way he seems confused. After a few minutes (of what I'm assuming is him checking for the assignment) he yawns and says, we'll be there in an hour. What?! We're sitting on the side of the road dude. Working with XPRESS towing is easily the best tow experiences I have had while living in LA. I have older classic cars and I have to call on tow trucks for help A LOT. Art showed up before the ETA, backed down a long, narrow tree lined driveway to my car then went the extra mile and pushed my car to a location that it wouldn't get scratched by the trees once on the flatbed. When most would have left me there and said, find someone else, he made it happen quickly and my car was off to the repair shop within 15 min. To make matters worse, my back up vehicle had some issues and he made sure all was ok before heading out. First class all around. Worst service ever. The old guy was rude as heck and never gave me a copy of the tow he made me print a picture. He lacks social skills and also is super rude and entitled. Took forever. Original ETA was 60 minutes... 2 hours later pops this guy with the worst attitude ever. He takes he's sweet a$$ time. Makes us wait then wait again at the dealer like 25 minutes for him when the travel was only 2.5 miles away to bring my car. The guy was incompetent and I got into a shouting match with him because he kept moving my car at the dealer ship trying to get out. He could've waiting 5 minutes, the cars moved, he was just being a d*ck about it. Not surprised how he acted. Super entitled as well. Guy gets there, tows me around the block (when he was supposed to tow me to my mechanic), says he can't take me there & that SF only requested a jump start. (SF confirmed they DID request a tow.) Dispatch is either incompetent or just looking for ways to add charges. It is a 3rd party service used by Pep Boys. I called for a tow, was given a timeframe and thought it would be fine. As I am at work and anticipating to meet with the tow at the window of time given the driver gets their 45 minutes early. Which would have been cool but I was told a different time. I had that time in text. I then scramble to meet the driver with dispatch demanding to know how long it will take because the driver's time is precious (not the customer's, but the driver). Then dispatch is telling me that it will cost extra to to tow because of how it's parked. So I start the car and move it. Yet I'm still expected to pay said fee. The driver refuses to tow for me based on the dumb, stupid person that was doing dispatch. Both these men then tell me I'm late and Xpress is giving me a courtesy. I show the driver the time given in text. That stumps him and dispatch and yet they still need me to pay an extra $70 because of something not in Pep Boy's fine print. Then dispatch gets mad when I refuse. The response "I'm done trying to help you". I never got any help. I ended up driving my hazardous car to a mechanic. Disgusting and the place is just run by morons. read more
