Cool Place with a cool vibe but kind of disappointed in the tacos. The Tortilla is key to a good Taco in my opinion and the Tortillas were right out of a bag. Not warmed, steamed or heated on the grill. They were also tasteless and had almost no corn flavor. The tacos themselves were fussy, very saucy and sloppy to eat. Too much going on... I guess street tacos would be the way to go with a better Tortilla of course!
I absolutely love this place. The vibes are always great upon walking in and even when it is busy I get sat immediately. Sitting at the bar is great too! I always always always go for the kids burrito and add chicken and I have leftovers every time, the portions are great. The only downside is it is so so EXPENSIVE! We spent $70 with tip for a few tacos chips and a kids burrito!! I would be here much more often if it wasn't so freaking pricey!
The food was good the tacos tortillas were kinda not cooked as good as I wanted but overall the meat was good! And the toppings were amazing on them , we also got chips which were some crispy some hard and not warm but it's ok . Service was good the lady who attended us at the bar was so nice and so pretty! She was a cute ginger , ambiance was also 10/10 it was warm light lighting and calm ambiance
Went back on a taco tuesday to try out their deals. Service was really friendly and attentive. Nice and clean inside with cute decor for photo opportunities. My drink was tasty and not watered down. Tacos were tasty and full. I only wish they heated up their tortillas. Everything reasonably priced.
Went for lunch which apparently is a lot easier to get a table than at dinner. I found the crispy fish was the best, followed by the arabica beef. I found the steak in the carne asada to be a little tough. Good cocktails. Overall a pleasant experience
Stopped in recently for lunch with my daughters and husband. We got the chips and dip flight, tacos and margarita's. The food was delicious. The chicken tacos are very good. The meat is well seasoned. Our waitress was attentive and checked in on us. The restaurant is has a great vibe. We were their early so seating wasn't an issue. The restaurant filled up while we were there.
I visited XO Tacos last night for Taco Tuesday, and the overall vibe was definitely A1. They offer great Taco Tuesday specials: $1 off tacos. Margaritas are half off, bringing them to just $6! They have a variety of margarita flavors, and let me tell you--they did not miss. Super flavorful and refreshing. When we arrived, we were told there would be a 45-minute wait. However, we hung out near the bar, and someone gave me their seat. Eventually, other people began to offer their seats as well. I honestly don't even know if we waited the full 45 minutes--being that we were talking and just enjoying the vibe, time seemed to go by much quicker. You can order your food at the bar, but we chose to sit at a table to have a little more room. The atmosphere is dimly lit, cozy, and full of good energy. People were friendly, and the staff--bartenders, waitresses, everyone--seemed genuinely happy and in great spirits. Definitely a good vibe all around. Now let's get into the tacos. One thing I love is that they give you the option of a soft tortilla, corn tortilla, or a lettuce wrap. The lettuce wrap is such a great option for anyone eating low-carb, doing keto, or just looking for something lighter. I've never been to a taco spot that offered that, so it stood out to me in the best way. I tried three tacos: * Curry Cauliflower (lettuce wrap) * Lobster (lettuce wrap) * Fish taco (soft tortilla) The creativity was top-tier--lobster and curry cauliflower aren't your typical tacos, and I appreciated that the lobster was real and the cauliflower was fresh. They also offer about four different hot sauce options, which were actually really good and helped add a kick. That said, I do feel like the tacos lacked flavor overall. I would possibly try these flavors again, just dress them up a little more with regular taco toppings like sour cream, shredded cheese, or a little extra sauce to really bring it all together. And for the record-- I weighed myself the next day and I was down 2 pounds. So I just might have cracked the code: tequila and lettuce wrap tacos might be the real fitness plan. Final Thoughts: * Atmosphere: 10/10 * Drinks: 10/10 * Tacos: 6.5/10 * Service: 10/10 * Vibes: Top-tier! (Would be even better if there were a live Dj lol) XO Tacos is a fun spot for a night out--especially on a Tuesday. I've heard Tuesdays are always a vibe there!
My friend and I decided to visit for Galentine's Evening after seeing ad on FB. Shared Caesar Chipotle Salad, Macho Fries, and two margaritas for $40. When we arrived we didn't see any signage for the special but they did honor the deal. Loved the vibrant XO Taco Decor With the Neon Lips and Hot Stuff signage, decked out for Valentine's Day! We sat at the bar and the service was top notch! Raspberry Blush Margarita bursting with flavor, unique for a margarita. The food was delicious, fresh flavorful salad, we loved the dressing! Macho fries were seasoned and the nacho cheddar cheese just made them over the top flavorful! We added steak quesadillas to complete our meal, and the steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare! We tried all the sauces, I loved the jalapeño packed some serious heat and flavor! I upped the anti to habanero, and holy hotness! I didn't dare go up to the Ghost pepper level! These are their own hot sauces that XO serves and sells! My second Rita was the jalapeño strawberry, first time doing the spice with a Rita! Served with a jalapeño kick, the server brought it down a notch by providing additional strawberry and lime that brought it to the perfect balance. We are both new customers and can't wait to return!
Menu has good number of vegetarian and vegan options. The place is not very big but has a nice ambiance and decor. I was a bit iffy about trying the tacos because another review said they lacked flavor but I had the black bean and the cauliflower tacos and they were very tasty. I sat at the bar, the place wasn't very busy yet so service was quick and attentive. After about half hour, things got pretty busy, but service kept up. For drinks, I had a house margarita on the rocks, a corona with lime, and a frozen margarita (I was thirsty). I took a star off for the small margarita glass but gave it back for the giant chips/salsa and strong frozen margarita.
OMG. Found this place by word of mouth, but blasting it on Yelp. One word...PHENOMENAL!!! My wife and I got some tacos (no pics cause we ate them before we knew it). She said they were the best tacos she has ever had and we have lived around the US to include Texas so this is a huge compliment. I had the lobster taco and I have not had lobster taste like that since I was in Portland, Maine; so another huge compliment. The vibe is awesome and the service was great!! If you want tacos...go here!!!!!!
Great happy hour deals! The food was all very yummy. House marg was delicious and I also tried the Paloma. I wouldn't get again but personal preference. Tried the chicken and the carne asada tacos too. Both very yummy.
$5 off Frozen Margaritas on Fridays, what a great deal, it was delicious. I had the nachos and made the mistake of getting a full order, so much food!! Everything came out fast and fresh! Service was a little slow and I don't think they were that busy... but overall a great night out!
I'd say we had a 3.5 star experience here tonight. They won't seat you until your full party arrives which is not an unusual policy, but there is virtually no parking and it took our friends a while to find a spot, leading to us having to wait for a table even tho I had been there for 10 minutes already. Once we were seated, no servers came to the table for long enough that we had to flag someone down and ask what was going on. They have great mocktail options, and the 2 flavored margaritas we got were VERY tequila heavy. The tacos were definitely tasty but are overpriced, in my opinion. The decor is vibey and trendy which was a fun ambiance for girl's night, but between the price, the service, and the fact that our waitress, though very friendly, never offered refills on our drinks and we had to track her down to start just brought the evening down. I'm going to check out some more local taco shops before coming back here. And I definitely won't be back until the snow melts and parking is less of a nightmare.
Reviews are mixed. Many highlight the creative menu options, vibrant atmosphere, and flavorful drinks. Most find staff friendly, though some report mixed service.

Ordered the Howlito Burrito with Chicken. The portion is large, slightly smaller than a Chipotle burrito. The chicken was tender as was the rice. It came with a side of chips. The salsa roja was delicious. It tasted if smokey chipotle. That said, it was a small cup and was $2. The service was friendly and prompt. They had a lot of seating available along with a bar. Plenty of drink options. Overall it was delicious, but rather pricey. read more

XO is a GREAT spot to come to when you're in the mood for good food and a fun atmosphere. The decor inside is very fun and makes for a great photo op against their different walls. The servers are always friendly and give great recommendations for food and drinks. I always recommend going for happy hour because each day they have unique drink/food deals. I went on a Friday and they had $5 frozen margs/frose and $4 fish tacos! My friends and I shared the macho fries, chips with guac and queso, and some tacos! My favorite tacos are the chicken and fish ones and all the ingredients are fresh. The food is served cafeteria style, which is great for sharing! read more

Tried this place out and it was yummy! Went on a Saturday for lunch and were able to grab two seats at the bar. Very friendly server/bartender. Did not get any cocktails this time but would love to go back and try some of their margaritas! They have started a chicken venture as well as having their tacos/Mexican items. Decided to try a little bit of Tacos and chicken! The chicken tenders over French fries with pickles and a special sauce was delicious( So fly loaded fried)! Loved the crispy chicken and the French fries were amazing. The sauce had a little kick to it as well! Also tried their tortilla chips with queso and pico. Loved the pico and chips! The queso is not much favorite as I like more traditional white queso found at other Mexican restaurants, but my husband loved it. Tried the following two tacos: Fish and General Toas Shrimp. Both had great flavor (shrimp had a nice little kick) but wish each one had a little more filling. For 5 dollars a taco I expect more filling! Overall a great first time experience! read more
They are open for outdoor dining & pick up! They have a handful of seating outside which is nice!!! Great menu, several taco options, street corn, bowls, etc! And homemade alcoholic drinks including sangria and Frozé!!! I got the Jamaican jerk & lobster tacos, chips & pineapple salsa on the side. Ask for extra sour cream on the side bc you only get a small cup of salsa and its NOT enough! I liked the Jamaican more than the lobster, but both were pretty bomb. Good fresh ingredients and flavor. My friend and I shared the 32oz frozé. STRONG and HUGE !!! AF! I was buzzing after a couple of sips. Cory was outstanding and personable! Brought our food right out to the table. Def hit this place up if you're in the area! Cant wait to try the sangria next time!! read more

I've been to this place a few times and I always leave full and happy. The first few times I've tried different tacos with the lobster being my favorite, so I decided to get the lobster roll-ito for takeout before work.... Wow wow wow was I happy. The burrito was perfectly sized the lobster was so fresh!!!! It was genuinely so authentic and so tasty it felt like I was by the ocean. We also got the guacamole and chips as a side and it was huge, perfect to share. I will def continue to be a customer here- take out or dine in. Ps: the atmosphere is wonderful and the bar is great so I'm biased towards dining in:) read more

Back in Syracuse for a work trip and couldn't decide what I wanted. Found XO Taco and was not disappointed in my choice. I got 4 tacos, Carne Asada, Barbara Pork, Super Hot Chix and Pork Belly. Both Pork were amazing! The Carne Asada was good and the Chix was fire! Also got the Key Line Pie dessert also great! I'll be back on my next trip for sure! read more
If margs, fries, and straight up vibes are what you seek, then run, do not walk. While the tacos themselves are tasty, I cannot physically leave this place without consuming macho fries in some capacity. Whatever seasoning they put on them is other-worldly, and their queso is the perfect dipping vesicle to bring the whole thing together. If you're feeling extra fancy, add guac too...you will not regret it. I also enjoy the "So Fly" add-ons they have to offer: their tenders are EXTREMELY delicious and the dipping sauce is incredible. If you are into margs, they have plenty to choose from. I recommend coming either for happy hour from 4-7pm Tuesday-Friday for 1/2 off the house marg, or check out any of their daily specials for good prices too! Show up in sweats or cocktail attire. Either is acceptable here. And that itself makes it a great time. read more

TL;DR: Highly recommended. I went twice in a week! **Ambiance** Xotaco is an incredible find! During the day, it has a trendy and modern vibe, perfect for a fantastic lunch spot with its open floor plan. But when the sun sets, Xotaco truly comes alive. With its tenebrous lighting and ambient deep house music, it effortlessly transforms into an enchanting gastropub that captivates your senses. The addition of red neon lights adds an extra touch of mystique. The fact that it is a *tequila* bar is an added bonus. **Staff and service** The staff at Xotaco were extremely friendly and courteous. Check-in was quick, and we were seated right away by a welcoming host. Our server was prompt, providing excellent recommendations and serving us without delay. **Drinks** Being a tequila bar, Xotaco lives up to its name. They have an extensive tequila menu, carefully categorized by type, including blanco, reposado, anejo, and extra anejo. They even have a separate section for cristalino, which is quite rare to see. Their selection of mezcals is also impressive. We got a pitcher of hot lips margarita, and it was delicious (see pic). Very well-balanced. We ordered ours to be extra hot and were not disappointed. Their pitcher is a work of genius and is actually a 32-oz plastic container (see pic). Like any good idea, I was initially very skeptical about it because it didn't conform with my vision of a pitcher. However, later in the evening, I soon discovered the true ingenuity of that pitcher. When we were done, we could just put a lid on that container and carry the unfinished drink with us back home!! This is the first time ever that I was able to carry back unfinished drinks from a restaurant, and I can definitely get used to it...haha :) I can also confirm that the pitcher holds four drinks. Because of their extensive selction, this is also a good spot to try out new tequilias and mezcals before spending on a full bottle (and hating later). I tried the Mitre Espadin Mezcal from their menu and found it to be very good. Smooth and smoky. **Food** Xotaco offers a diverse selection of tacos, and we ended up ordering one of each with a meat filling. From chicken to arabica beef, pork, lobster, shrimp, fish, and carne asada, each taco had its own distinct and flavorful profile. The toppings complemented the protein perfectly. Amongst the group, the lobster taco was the standout favorite, while the pork pebil taco was the least favorite but still delicious enough to order again. One person in our party tried the steak burrito and found it to be fantastic. The side of Spanish rice was full of flavor. We also ordered chips and queso, which were good, although the portion of queso was a bit underwhelming and could use improvement. **Overall** My experience at Xotaco was wonderful, prompting me to visit twice in a week. The combination of ambiance, food, and drinks is perfect. All you need is a good appetite and great company to enjoy this establishment. I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended. read more

Pretty damn good. I'm a Syracuse native and I don't ever remember having access to tacos this good while living here. As a foodie, I really appreciated running into this spot as a nice welcome back home after being gone over 10 years. Bravo read more
This place is a basic girl sanctuary. The decor is what reels you in with the neon signs and the cute wallpaper! My favorite taco by far is the lobster taco. I always get corn. I wish they doubled up on the shells because of you don't eat your tacos right away they get super soggy :( nonetheless, I go here frequently during the week when they have deals! Tuesday is half off margaritas and $1 off tacos. By far the best deal of the week! Always look forward to date nights here! read more

I've gotten XO Taco many times (photos are from my most recent take out order) and it hasn't disappointed yet! I usually get the Baja Steak burrito or the Howlito and both are so good. You definitely get what you pay for because while it's a pricer burrito, it is very filling. When I've gone in person, I love the vibe of the restaurant. It's cute and honestly has a lot of places for you to snap an artsy photo! They have both indoor and outdoor seating too. I recommend going for happy hour and getting some cheap house margs! They're cheap, delicious, and nice and strong. I recently ordered from here yesterday, for Cinco de Mayo, and even while it was packed, my order for multiple people was ready in a timely manner. Some places just give you a wrapped burrito with a take out order, but XO Taco puts it in its own little box which makes it so easy and convenient to eat on the go without making a mess. read more

This place has the best French fries on earth. Like it's insane. However the actual Mexican food on the menu is mediocre and often misses the mark. For the area, it's also very expensive and definitely is meant to be for the local student population. You will definitely also wait a while to be seated. read more

Taco Tuesday is my new favorite day of the week because of XO Taco. We went there twice within five days of each other and ordered the exact same things because that's how delicious everything was! I had the High Tide burrito and a house margarita, while my Dinner BAE had the Chicken Tendeez. The chicken tenders are, so far, the best we've had in Syracuse. They reminded me of Korean fried chicken with its crispy/crunchy outside and super juicy inside. The textures and seasoning were perfect. The High Tide burrito was just melt-in-your-mouth goodness. The texture and seasoning of the fish was just spot on and the So Cal sauce was a perfect compliment to all of its flavors. And if the house margarita is an indication of any of the other cocktails on the menu, then they must all be amazing. read more

Awesome hangout spot, Pretty tasty but a little pricey. I love this spot for a casual but cool hang out spot - especially for a setting where you are looking for a trendy, upbeat atmosphere. The tacos are pretty good, with the shrimp taco specifically being up there as one of the best tacos ive ever had. Besides the standout shrimp taco, the price is a bit high for what you get- $4-$9 for a small taco of this quality is a little steep, but certainly worth a try. The sauces on each taco were definitely the highlight - the chimichurri and guacamole really being the show stopper of the meal. The street corn is also very good & its one of the first times I have seen it in Syracuse! The margaritas were half priced on Taco Tuesday and were very strong if that's your style! The atmosphere itself is fun and energetic, and its almost always full of people! Very trendy in looks and super instragramable . Its loud and full of energy so definitely a place for groups of people! Overall, you will have a great night out here, but it may not be the regular Friday get-together spot! read more

Young crowd...loud and on the pricey side Three small tacos each for me and my daughter...no drinks...no desert...oh and chips and queso (which is extra) and bill was $33. They were tasty tho. Decor was hip with lights and wall paper with XO"s all over one wall. On street parking. Nice place for date or with friends read more

XO definitely seems like a popular place for a late night eat. Tacos are good and drinks are decent. I will say that this place can get packed quick so try to arrive early. If it's packed just know service may not be the quickest so have some patience with the staff. The atmosphere is great as the music is current and update and the decor makes for the perfect backdrop of any photo. The tacos are pretty pricey but so worth it. I ordered the Carne Asada, lobster and the shrimp tacos and each one was amazing!! read more

Good tacos :) we liked that they had both flour and corn tortillas. We tried the cauliflower, vegetarian chorizo, pulled chicken, pork, steak, and fish tacos ... liked them all! The service was friendly and fast. I'd say the only negative was the litter on the ground around the restaurant. Someone should really be cleaning that up ... not the most inviting space to eat in. read more

Xo Taco is a fun spot to grab a bite and drinks with friends. Immediate seating is almost impossible, but waiting at the bar and trying fun drinks makes the wait-time fly by. The Curry Cali and Hot Chix tacos were terrific, as well as the purple rain margarita and guava mojito. Although XO tends to fill up, it's a fun environment with fantastic food and excellent staff! read more

Cluck...cluck...pass! Many things to love about XO taco! My fav is the lobster taco! Sooo buttery and filled with flavor- it will NOT disappoint! There is also a full bar for your many drink needs. Staff are very nice! QR code is used for the menu and you use a pencil on a little check list to order. There is outdoor seating as well. But the indoor decor is not to be missed. Cute neon signage and an XO Taco covered wall do not disappoint. I also got the So-Cal fish taco & General Tao's shrimp tacos- they were ok- but not as good as the LOBSTER!!! Next time your in Cuse and have a need for tacos -you've gotta check this place out!!! Xoxo read more

I've always heard about this place and finally made it over for the first time! It was amazing!! 10/10! The server was super nice. The quesadilla was good and the guac was amazing! My friend enjoyed her tacos. It was a cute little, well decorated atmosphere. I would go back! read more
i love this place for their weekly deals and happy hour!! xo taco has a very trendy vibe inside, very instagrammable decor, a little too dark i think tho. the location is kinda in the middle of nowhere, not downtown or near any other businesses. tables are VERY close together inside, and you'll get seated right next to another couple even with 10 other tables open. you are practically eating with your neighbors that's how close the tables are. they have like 3 outdoor tables too on the side of the building but not the best environment. the food is pretty good for the most part, i don't love their queso but i'm picky haha. cocktails are great and you can't beat the drink specials. half off bottles of wine on wednesdays, $5 frozen margs and frose on fridays, half off house margs weekdays 4-7, the list goes on. i love xo for a casual bite and drinks!! read more

10/10 phenomenal tacos and margs! Honestly probably the best tacos my husband and I have ever had. Ingredients are fresh and the margs are delish! We are sad we live 2 hours away but will make a point to come back for sure!! The general tsos shrimp taco was sooo good and had this AMAZING cilantro topping. I wish I had that for everything! Great hot sauces too. We bought some to have on hand at home read more

Ordered chips and queso along with a burrito on grub hub last night. This is what they sent. Literal prepackaged corn shells and lukewarm cream sauce with no cheese flavor at all. They couldn't even break up the shells so they even seemed like chips. What's even more hilarious is someone had the nerve to neatly write "chips and queso" on the side of the box that this garbage came in. Very disappointed in their utter lack of care or respect for their customers. read more

i briefly stepped inside to pick up my takeout order and was pleasantly surprised at the retro & edgy ambiance of this place !! it was packed with people on a saturday night and it was very ALIVE and inviting. i wish i didn't do a takeout order and ate inside instead, because the decor and ambiance of this place was spectacular i would have rated it a 5/5 just for the environment! & the tacos..... i ordered the hot chix chicken, the carne asada + the general tso shrimp. all were very juicy and jam packed with sauces and fresh ingredients but the chicken was my absolute favorite because of the flavors! the carne asada was just okay -- being that the steak chunks were chewy and rubbery, and the cheese they added did not pair well at all with the taco. the shrimp taco was flavorful but was also kind of disappointed -- because the chimichurri was HECKIN SPICY and overpowered my palate... but the sweet sauce in there definitely balanced it out. felt like a little dance on my tongue between the two contrasting flavors. so for the overall good flavors + ambiance i give it a 4/5! read more
