Cascadelink - My typical speeds on the Gigabit offering from CascadeLink

Cascade was bought out over a year ago by Wave. Since then I've had a few outages at night…read more Unfortunately, support is onoy open during daytimes house with what they call "on call service after hours." I don't know what that means, but no one responds after 5pm on some days. If you leave a message after hours they don't return the call. I called the other evening and the line was forward to a number in area code 610 that would not take messages. We were told how great it would nbe to be sold to WAVE because of their greater resources. One would think that after a year they would at least have Wave respond to support. Another interesting thing. We had to enter all our account information from Cascade Link's invoices into the new system. Why do I need to transfer my account? Service is generally good, but if there is a problem, there is no one to respond outside of business hours. That is just not acceptable for an internet business!

The sole reason I transferred over was for stable internet speeds as fiber optic is typically less…read morenoisy than CoAxial providers. The speed is great and was way faster and more consistent than Comcast. BUT all of that is negated by occasional shutdowns of internet where you can't even call customer support! Happened today and I'm sad to see this is a frequent occasion. Of all days, it happens when I'm working from home. Now I got to make up the hours on the weekend...awesome. In Cap Hill, if you want to pay $10/month less for reliable internet, go with Comcast. I had them last month, thought I'd try out CascadeLink for it's marginally faster connection, but will surely be returning to Comcast. Comcast has its own problems, but at least I can rely on internet working when I need it. tldr: Do NOT sign up with the service unless you're ready for frequent surprise internet shut downs. Comcast is more reliable, cheaper, currently offering around 70 Mbps for $40/month vs. Cascades 30Mbps for $50/month

He made a comment about taking our phones off WiFi to save bandwidth which I thought was a little odd since our former company was able to handle all connections with ease. As we started to use the system it started dropping the internet at random times and when it was connected it would take forever to load a chosen website. I called on Friday morning to find out what the problem might be and discussed the issues with a lady who created a "trouble ticket" and told me someone would be in contact. After waitng all day with no call and no one showing up I fought the problems but no matter what I did the system continued to act up so I disconnected their equipment and reinstalled my old system that thankfully was still active. Later I found a message on my phone from someone telling me to try shutting off the power to the modem and turning it back on to see if that helped. Since I had tried that several times I just ignored the message but I would think tech support might have at least sent someone instead of just calling and leaving a message.

My experience is not with this specific store either but about how Xfinity/Comcast operates as a…read morepublic service. I did not think it was possible for an internet & phone service provider to get any worse but now it has become obvious that they are now incorporating 3rd world type of customer service. And believe me, this is not an exaggeration by any means. They are specifically trying to deceive their own customers in order to keep you putting money into their pockets. It's impossible to get a real person on the phone unless you happen to find the number that they do not want you to have. And then they will try to get you to believe that they need to help you by getting you to hang up and promising to call you back but they purposely don't call you back. I have 2 apps on my phone for Xfiniti and neither one of them works properly. You cannot get into your own account and the reason is because they do not want you to be able to find out how much time you have left on the contract that you signed when you accepted their new free phone. As an example, AT&T will offer you a less expensive service but you need to know how many more months you have left on the current contract with XFINITY/Comcast but they put in place road blocks so you cannot find out. And if you leave too soon, they will hit you with additional fees for breaking the contract you signed when you accepted the free phone. As you know, you are wasting your time trying to get through to their customer service office but this is the phone number that will get you to a real person. But they will do everything they can to make you feel as if they are helping you when they are trying to share as little information as possible. Once I leave, I am never going back to these professional scammers. We are supposed to have a Customer Protection Agency but they simply take monetary gifts to look the other way. Xfinity/Comcast is an embarrassment to the term "Customer Service." This is the number to reach a real person but they are are very schooled in how to "NOT" help you. 1-888-936-4968 And those surveys that allow you to give a review. That's only there to provide the illusion thattheyu care about their customers. THEY DON'T CARE....
