These people are the worst. Worst customer service. The worst at keeping scheduled appointment times. They rescheduled their appointment (after it took them 2 weeks and 3 phone calls to get them to actually schedule the appointment in the first place. Their customer service had called 5 hr.s before their scheduled appointment the previous day and said they couldn't make it to us on the scheduled appointment day- can they reschedule for the following day (same appointment time - 3-5pm). That's fine, I tell them but I have appointments until 3pm so it can't be earlier than the scheduled time. Will that work? "Absolutely, "Pete" says. And thank you for your understanding". THE FOLLOWING DAY I GOT DONE WITH MY APPOINTMENTS EARLIER THAN EXPECTED AND when I got home at 1:45pmTHERE WAS A MESSAGE ON THE ANSWERING MACHINE FROM AN HOUR EARLIER (1pm), FROM THEIR INSTALLER "DOUG", SAYING HE WANTS TO COME EARLY. I CALLED THEIR INSTALLER "DOUG" (at 2pm) AND TOLD HIM I WAS HOME AN HOUR EARLY AND HE COULD COME NOW. The installer shows up almost immediately AN HOUR BEFORE HIS SCHEDULED TIME pissed off because He couldn't come to the 3-5pm appointment time 2 HOURS earlier on a Friday. Then install guy makes a big deal that he had "to turn around and come back to do the install (now an hour earlier than the RESCHEDULED TIME), because he was already on his way back to the shop.. AYFKMRN!!! AGAIN THIS IS AN HOUR BEFORE HIS SCHEDULED INSTALL TIME... ("Doug") then asks "what am I doing here?" (Uh... WHAT??!!) I tell "Doug" we need the install completed, as KPUD had brought the fiber inside the house- we just needed him to finish the install so we can get our internet up and running- and here is our equipment. Doug says "this isn't OUR router" and tells me "well, I'll install the tips- but you'll need to call Chris back, or whoever you talked to and see if they can get your service up and running". (I have a new fiber optic router that's much quicker, higher quality and lower latency than Advanced Stream's eqpt, which, BTW- I had called their custy service (Chris) and told them what it was and gave the MAC address for, and asked if they could install in place of their crappy Deco router? He (Chris) said my router would work just fine and was much better than their eqpt, (this after he had checked the router's MAC address and product spec. and Mfr). But now here's installer guy "Doug" telling me he'll get us part way through an installation and then I was on my own to sort the rest out??? Yeah- uh, NO thanks. I told Doug that we weren't willing to have him do a partial install, and that if he could get us up and running- then let's roll. But if not- then we weren't willing to proceed. So "Doug" starts getting downright surly with me while he's standing in my living room. NOW WE'RE AT A BIG NO THANK YOU- sorry we bothered you. At which point Doug starts with "well you don't have to start getting snotty with me. Evidently, if I refused to give in to Doug's partial install, that qualifies as getting snotty. Honestly- I had no attitude about it at all, and was starting to feel like we were dodging a bullet by not doing business with Advanced Stream. Well, sorry for your trouble, I tell him. DUDE WALKS OUT THE HOUSE TALKING CRAP OVER HIS SHOULDER about "how he had to come all the way out here, and "how he had to wait an hour for us", and "why do people like us even bother scheduling these appointments if we're not going to have him do the install?" Which, (1) made me realize we're not the first people who have had trouble with DOUG, and who decided not to press forward with an install (or half an install- as was the case), and, (2) he told he was only going to do a partial install and that we would be left without internet while their customer service person maybe does something magical back at HQ??? Our daughter is a Senior in HS and going through her winter finals right now. There is now way I was going to buy off on this half an install that leaves us without even so much as the internet we currently have through Xfinity. Not EVEN going there. Honestly, if my unfortunate interaction with these cowboys is any indication of how they do business, I'm glad we found out on the front side. If this saves anybody else from even letting "Doug" in your home and leaving you with a "Partial Install" and no internet- then at least something good will have come from the BS of dealing with these people. Not sure how these people stay in business? On to Net253 (that all my neighbor's have and love). Should have called them to begin with. ADVANCED STREAM BAD!! I don't like leaving poor reviews but when it comes to internet and what they offer vs what you really get I think people should know. I pay for 25mpbs upload and I constantly do speed tests and I download at 4!!!! The most I get is 123 the upload is even worse at 2!!!!! My Netflix is always blurry and I cannot use my phone while watching Netflix. It can't handle it. When I called and asked them to come out and take a look they claimed it was one of my devices slowing I down. Not really a explanation... so they said I could bring my router in and have them look at it but they'll charge me to have someone come here to look. Seeing the other reviews sounds like I am not the only one. I like when I call someone answers but you don't get what they offer. It's terrible terrible service. read more

I switched from Xfinity a year ago and have no regrets. I used to get charged a ton for going over on data (6 adults a teen and a toddler in the home and 4 are gamers), with advance stream ive never gone over or gotten charged. And in months when money is tight they have never had a problem letting me split my bill into 2 payments even 2 weeks overdue. I no longer have to reset my router every few days like on Xfinity (I bought a netgear nighthawk router for gaming and large houses). Best internet service ive ever had. read more

I began using Advanced Stream in 2013. At first it was great. Few service interruptions occurred. I wasn't happy that technical support was not available after business hours, but I felt I was savvy enough to not need it. This year, 2014, I started noticing more service interruptions than before. I called a few times after hours and left voice mails but received no response. Finally, in October 2014, I called and received an explanation. The service rep explained that they thought I was using the Internet too much, that I hit my bandwidth limit, and they had throttled my account. I asked when they decided this, and the rep hemmed and hawed. I asked why they didn't provide notice that there was a problem and received no answer. I explained that I was in the process of a one time backup that I needed for my work in photography, and that I would use less bandwidth when it was done. I was told that would be all right. A week later my internet access was terminated and I was told I'd have to pay a technician $35 an hour to come out and see why we used so much bandwidth. (How is that possible without a connection?) I agreed to instead upgrade to a commercial account. I filled out some paperwork, and gave my credit card info. A month later, the company emailed me saying they didn't have credit card information on file and asking if I would like to upgrade to the commercial account, which didn't have usage limits. I called and learned they never upgraded me in October. As for my credit card information, I am a bit concerned that a business rep took this down on paper and now seems to have misplaced it. I think if the customer service keeps slipping, I will move on to a different provider. read more

I was using Comcast internet prior to switching to Advanced Stream and I couldn't have been happier after I made the switch. Advanced stream has friendly customer service reps on staff and they were easy to deal with. I ended up purchasing the modem from them which ended up being cheaper in the long run than paying the monthly fee with Comcast. I had no issues with the modem still to this day and it's been over 3 plus years of use. I mainly streamed MotoGP videos and Netflix/Amazon prime. I bumped up to Res-3 to increase the download speed due to the MotoGP hi-res videos from the MotoGP website. I highly recommend switching! I've convinced my father to leave a competitor company due to the service being overpriced. He's now using my old modem since I moved out of Advanced Stream service area. read more

The gentleman who came to install my internet was one of the most chill and nice guys I've ever met. Sometimes it's uncomfortable to have strangers in your house, but he honestly didn't make me uncomfortable at all. He was super polite and informed me of everything he was going to do, and even though I had no idea where the outlets he needed were, he was very nice about it and we found them after a bit of searching around the house. He was right on time as well, and despite some install complications he handled it all without complaint. But the real reason I am writing this review is because he went above and beyond. When another fellow came to install our modem, I saw a giant spider (this thing was huge, I can't even explain how big it was) in my basement, and I let out a scream. I am terrified of spiders and he came in to check on me and see what was up. I informed him that my sisters boyfriend would be home soon, and he would take care of the spider. I then went outside, and several moments later he emerged from the basement and told me he had taken care of the monster spider. He even removed the spider from our basement so that I didn't have to. This was by far the best costumer service I have ever received while having someone in my home. 10/10, can't recommend this guy enough read more

This is the most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with! After my husband a disabled veteran set up 2 partial payments, because of an unexpected bill, they cut our service anyway. When my husband called they said the person he had been working with at the office was not authorized to set up a payment plan. They also told him he had to bring in the phone adapter immediately or he would be charged for it. Short on money to get there he made it happen and after turning in the equipment the guy said he would not receive any credit and laughed at him. This is how they treat our heroes. Prior to Advanced Stream, my husband and I had Comcast and consistently had issues with our service and billing. I was scared to try another company fearing the same treatment. That is not the case with Advanced Stream. Their connection speed is incredibly fast, allowing me to stream videos seemlessly while my husband plays his online games. I have been a customer with this company since it opened. Nine out of ten times when I call for assistance the tech is extremely rude. Why are these guys so rude and arrogant? Once in a while I get an extremely helpful and motivated tech and this motivates me to not switch. I know most customer service is very poor no matter what business. This is a shoddy, unproven internet provider. When I used their service for internet I had to pay for several speed upgrades, several technician visits, and a brand new router just to get my service to be tolerable. My devices never showed the internet speeds I was paying for. Evenings and other high traffic times cause their services to slow tremendously because you are sharing a grid with all your neighbors. Furthermore when I tried to switch providers, I knew I needed to cancel 30 days before I wanted to end my service. I did this and was still billed an additional month. When I called to check in with them, they said they had no record of me calling to cancel and billed me an additional month because I had to give them 30 days notice. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER UNLESS YOU WANT A SERVICE AND BILLING NIGHTMARE. This company is small and shitty. read more
