I have been a Comcast customer for all of my adult life. I just switched to Frontier because they offer a better service for half of what Comcast was charging. I had ongoing issues with connection with Comcast and got fed up. when I called to ask if they had a better rate to offer they tried selling me more service. Bad enough my current service didn't work why would I buy more. Needless to say, I just got a $130 bill for early termination. I paided off my phone over 6 months ago and my phone has still not been unlocked. My husband and I both had to call and still 2 weeks later the phone is still locked when I questioned it the guy said that they have to wait for apple to unlock it and that's a lie. He was told it could take up to 48 hrs not over two weeks. When I called David l said it will be taken care of in the next 24 hrs. How do I give a negative score. I called to discuss why my bill of over $300 did not go down even after I returned equipment that I was told I was being charged for on a monthly basis. I returned the equipment and my bill is still $316. Services get taken away but the bill never changes. The representatives just double talk and try to sell more services no matter what department they represent. I just asked for the answer to my question. I kept being told other ways to spend my money. I was finally told that he could only tell me what his system generates so I asked for a supervisor 4 times. The people are nice on the phone but they must be struggling as a company. It seems like every day they remove a service from me and replace it with something substandard (i.e. take your toyota truck and give you a yugo and we're even). I loved the service at first, worked awesome. Now I can't use my phone 90% of the time because the service drops or won't make a call at all. They are sending me a new Sims card so will see if that helps. The other issue is when I got the service I was told if I did it under my parents cable account it would be like they are sponsoring me but they wouldn't be able to do anything to my account, I wouldn't need their "permissions" to adjust any on MY account. I pay that bill and those phones not them. Yet they if so choose can shut my phones off and do just about anything to my account?? When I check to see if I can have my account without them being sponsors and I was told no you can only have mobile if you have cable. Why is this??? DO NOT get your cable service from Communast/Xfinity!!! I tried resolving a past-due balance with them & Southwest Credit(collector) without ANY success. These fools mailed a collection notice to a relative's home of mine in Florida(I live in Connecticut). That relative forwarded me the notice. I then went down to a Comcast/Xfinity store to swap out my disabled cable box(or so I thought). These 'people' have no clue what 'Customer Service' is. They ended up taking my disabled box and never issued me a replacement, like they said they would when I spoke to them on the phone before I went there AND after I paid my 'past-due' amount with them in full. I had Comcast internet, cable TV and phone at my house. The phone never worked. Incoming calls would be greeted with a busy signal and when we tried to place a call there was no dial tone. They come out and checked the connections, replaced the telephony module twice, and it didn't make one bit of difference; phone unusable. I was really looking forward to the blazing fast internet as I do play some online games. Another disappointment as the speeds were fast sometimes, like 2am but it became unbearably slow from 3-9pm every day. I would have to power cycle the cable modem just to get online. Comcast came out and checked the connections, replaced the modem, no improvement; internet unusable. We held onto the minimum service of basic cable (no channels) which we pay $34 a month for. That seems to work. I'm forced to conclude that Comcast workers must be trained to lie about everything. In the case of my many interactions with them all I ever ended up with was falsehoods, deception and trickery. If you like the "just say anything" approach to customer service then this might be the perfect fit. read more

I wanted share a positive experience. Last nights snow storm brought about 8" of heavy snow to Hartford and around 3am the cable box and line ripped off the side of my apartment house. Now wide awake from the noise of it all, I called Xfinity to have a service ticket entered. The operator answered promptly, efficiently took my information and texted me my service information. I was scheduled to see a technician between 2-4pm. I was please to have that window as I knew how busy they would be. Much to my surprise, a technician arrive at my house as 11:45am! He told me he was in the area and figured he would do it while he was passing by. Within 30 minutes he had the box and line fixed and was on his way! read more

I've become a new subscriber of XFINITY after being a customer of Frontier. My first impression is positive. The installation rep named Jesse was at my house and she did everything to answer all my questions and to provide an installation experience. She really did a fabulous job and really worked for 3 and half hours. The equipment is far better than Frontier, and everything from the remote, the internet, and the seem less guide to my channels leaves me very comfortable that I'm in good hands. I'll follow up in 6 months, but I'm pretty confident I will be satisfied. It can't be worse than Frontier was. I really was patient with Frontier, but had no choice but to change. internet router keeps assigning a Concord New Hampshire location disabling local programming from streaming apps.(local to New Hampshire is available but I live in Ct. first support call told me I needed a new router for my home even though it had been working for a month. I went to an Xfinity store and exchanged for a newer model. second call when that did not work wanted to send out a technician with 10 days out being the earliest. They told me my wires were probably bad. huh? I scheduled it then thought about how illogical that is. Comcast routers assign the IP address. called back again and talked to Jade who could only read scripts that did not answer my questions as to why someone needed to waste time coming to my house. she was only concerned about getting a good review for doing nothing rather than getting me to someone who could fix the problem. if I had any other service available for internet in my area, I would take it. I wasted 4 hours with them and gave up. in contrast I got a telecommunications expert at Sling who said they were having many CT customers who are getting New Hampshire local stations. He escalated the problem but the final resolution is the problem is with Comcast. try a get someone who knows what they are doing. help is a chat bot or someone located in a foreign country who has been trained to read a few limited scripts. read more

DISHONEST & DECEPTIVE. I switched cable from Frontier to Xfinity and signed onto a 2 year deal which, per Xfinity rep, locked my bill at $184.99. After 6 months, it jumped by over $20.00 per mo. I called Xfinity & spoke to overseas rep who explained that the channel programming cost was fixed, HOWEVER, Xfinity increased the rental fee on their equipment (all of which was older & reconditioned after prior customer use). He explained Xfinity's contract allows them to unilaterally do this. I checked - the fine print does. He said he would refund the increase - they never did. So, I can't leave for 2 yrs without paying penalties, while Xfinity can increase fees at any time. Xfin's greed and deception is bad enough. Wrong, it took hours to set it up to work right with tech assistance. Then I ordered a smart phone. The verification of my identity process was ridiculous. Comcast has incompitate installers. My elderly parents were scheduled for installation today (Saturday) and after fooling around with the wires the tech said the lines were dead in the whole complex and that he put a call into his supervisor to get them fixed. He said that they would be able to get the lines up today and that he could come back tomorrow at 11am. At 4 the outside repair tech showed up ,and was laughing because the lines were not dead the installer didn't have a clue where to connect them. He also told me to hound Comcast to get someone out there or it would never happen. So, I did what he said and they are not coming out until Monday. Now I have to take time off from work and sit around and wait for the next incompitate Comcast installer. What kind of customer service is this? Comcast just couldn't seem to make me happy so I switched to Uverse. Comcast's network wasn't able to provide me reliable internet and although I would call to complain since it was a random issue they kept telling me to call back and refused to monitor my connection for any future issues.. not impressed by their customer service or support at all. I was also a little put off by the tv and radio ads bashing AT&T's sale to Frontier, ironic since Comcast bought into this market when they bought AT&T Broadband Internet.. it was OK for them to do but wrong for others? Maybe Comcast should run for office. I was also told by a Comcast employee when I turned in my equipment that 'I would be back because Frontier is going to force me to Direct TV and those data speeds are really slow'. Why would Frontier buy the network and customers from AT&T only to sell the customers outdated technology.. or is Comcast spewing lies in hopes it will gain them customers through fear. I can't say for sure that Uverse is better since I've only had it for a few days but the tech who installed it all was excellent. so far the tv and DVR seem awesome and my interest speeds are great. read more

I recently moved to the State and #1 biggest problem I had was w/ Comcast. I'm a renter so Dish was out of the question and Cox doesn't service my area so my ONLY choice was Cr@pcast. I called to set up an account and they told me that the previous tenant had not closed their account so I would have to contact the previous tenant to have them close their account!!!! YES!! That's the ridiculous, awful, horrific and possibly illegal BS that the ONLY cable provider offered me. Thankfully when I complained on FB a friend let me know about a good Antenna and I got Netflix to supplement. Upgraded to HD, and the box i was given didn't work (maybe they should test them once in awhile?). Customer service was average, nothing special. They've reduced their hours so that I can no longer stop by before work, which is pretty annoying. Recently I got rid of HD TV service and have been using an antenna...you would be amazed at the quality of reception in middletown! I can pick up all the major broadcast networks in HD (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX) with absolutely no distortion. It works better than cable did! It is totally not worth it to spend 120 bucks on a bunch of channels that I don't ever watch, and for those crappy free on-demand movies (that are free for a reason). I still have high speed internet, but am thinking about getting rid of it (since i really only use it for email, and can do everything from my phone anyways). I always thought cable tv was a necessity, but the past few months have proven that it's no longer worth the expense (maybe at 20-30 bucks a month, but not 70-80). I can watch enough free shows on Hulu, and videos from my favorite contributors on youtube that i don't even miss it. read more

Very hard to get any help over the phone. It always seem that you get the wrong extension no matter what. I have Comcast in 3 other states and the equipment they give you in this area is the oldest I have ever seen. Without notice, Comcast increased my monthly bill from $140 to $162. Previously, when I signed up in December 2011, Comcast quoted $120/month for "triple play" that included HD TV. Instead it billed $140/month and did not provide HD TV. Now it wants $162. I am on fixed income (solely SSA) as well as Medicare and Title 19. Comcast is out of control. It failed to make good on its December 2011 quote (a breach of contract) by over-charging me and by failing to provide what it promised (HD TV). 1. REFUND for overcharges back to December 2011 2. REDUCTION of my monthly bill to what Comcast originally quoted--without taking away or reducing my internet, telephone, and cable TV services 3. HD TV, which is what I asked for but did nor receive back to December 2011. 4. also: Comcast should be fined for its business practices that include, in my experience with Comcast, breach of contract; "baiting," in which it offers services at low cost and then hikes it up. A YEAR AGO, I switched to Frontier and had frequent outages with internet, phone, TV. Perhaps all such providers raise their rates despite terrible service. BBB rated Frontier "F." read more
