Apart from inconsistent dependability and "constant" notifications that my service is unavailable because of "upgrades," Xfinity's customer support system is the worst I've ever encountered. They put you through the brand-new hell of a "automated assistant" that refuses to connect to a live agent and just keeps asking the same SCRIPTED question. i work from home and Xfinity shut the cable off to do some enhancements, according to their automated service. I asked to speak to an agent so that I could plan my work day and the automated system ended the call. I called back again and they system literally hung up the phone on me. it's unfortunate that Comcast doesn't value the daily lives of its customers. Today my 20 yr. old tv in the kitchen stopped working. It was late afternoon and wanted to have tv for the evening so I unhooked the cable box and brought it over to the Comcast/Xfinity store to get new one for my newer flat screen. I told the young man at the front desk area that I was turning in old cable box and wanted newer one to connect to my flat screen. He said I didn't need another box, I could use the same one and handed me a "HDMI" cable to attach to it, said it would work fine. Also, a new remote, same as the old one I turned in. I've had cable tv for nearly 44 yrs., I am quite familiar with hooking up new cable boxes/cables, etc. I hooked this one up to flat screen. Didn't work. Remote and cable box, didn't connect. NOTHING WORKED!!! I tried calling Comcast Customer Service which is like an annoying comedy routine. You verify your street number, the computer looks up your account and then it's always the same thing. "Can we send your cable box a reset?" No. I needed technical help which I tried telling the automated voice about 100 times. The only response was, a cable box reset would help, if not you could call back and someone would help you. Didn't need a cable box reset because THERE WAS NO BOX CONNECTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But you cannot get that information across to a non-human being!!!!! I went back and forth with this for ONE HOUR, requesting "customer service, technical help" and only got the same responses............they can send a reset to your cable box, you can hang up or "tell me what you want". And it just starts over again. At this point, an hour and a half later, I have no television for tonight thanks to the unbelievably POOR customer service at Comcast Customer Service. Comcast made nearly $124 BILLION DOLLARS in 2025 according to article online. Plainville,CT store. I am elderly and with some disabilities. I bought a brand new phone there and switched to have their mobile service about 7 weeks ago. There has been nothing but a series of events that my phone was not working properly. I've been to that store about 6 times already and they fail to help! They lied to me they were extremely rude to me and gave false information. Very disrespectful employees there. The manager refused to see me as I requested so that I can have my new phone get properly fixed. They only care about commissions. I urge everyone not to do business at this store. Called the service number and was told it is stalled and advised to cancel and go to the local store. They also advised my bill would increase $65 then reduced it to a $20 increase. I was a loyal Xfinity customer for over 30 years. When I decided to cancel due to rising prices and better fiber optic options, I followed all instructions to close my account. Despite this, I was incorrectly charged a $50 fee. I called twice and spoke with two supervisors--both assured me the fee would be waived. The first said it was resolved, but I received another bill. The second apologized and confirmed the waiver, yet my account was still sent to collections. This was extremely frustrating and unacceptable. Xfinity just throttled service. Less service same price. They then send an email stating they've 'upgraded' MY service & made MY service faster. I just need a new gateway. I call - the place order for the new gateway. No mention of $15 shipping charge OR $20 raise in price. So apparently they didnt 'UPGRADE MY SERVICE' after all , they created a NEW service and then tried to scam me into it. ZERO full disclosure from the rep. This is out & out fraud. First off you get a robot and nobody likes dealing with a robot and then once you've been on hold long enough usually about an hour you finally talk to a real human from India with a very thick accent so you can't have a conversation or at least most of the time. Now the people in India know nothing about the actual products which you have to call a local store for. The local store will tell you that you have to call customer support which is either home-based if you're lucky you'll get somebody from America that speaks English but most of the time you get someone from India and you got to keep asking over and over can you say that again I couldn't understand you pick up you're talking like this food in your mouth. And then they do one of these upgrades which if you know about technical things these upgrades are not needed most of the time they do this for a few reasons one of which is for money no doubt but the other is increased surveillance through the remote that listens for your voice that's always on. And then they have these bundle packages which are cheaper and the difference between cell tower to router beamforming or fiber or coaxial. If you were smart meaning researching you would go with coaxial and the wired connection using your own modem and router of choice so you can be in the driver's seat with your controls. There are many times Xfinity tries to test out things in your neighborhood and if you have one of their combo black boxes then they can do whatever they want. But when you provide your own modem router combo it gives you options and you won't be on the phone as much with India or the local place and you're saving money each month because you bought your own equipment. Believe me it pays for itself quick but I wouldn't recommend this business the problem is is there's no other choice for coaxial in my area. Each Telecom owns a specific area or bunch of neighborhoods and you can only go with the provided internet carriers for that neighborhood. So they have a monopoly in different counties all over the United States. I thought I should bring this up because a lot of people don't know about this but they know how frustrating it is to be on the phone with these people not learning anything and getting the runaround always and paying for it. read more

This is for my 90 years old mother who is constantly complaining that TV is not working and no internet. When you call them - they give you a run around and there is no alive representative available. Unreliable service supported by terrible telephone customer service. It can't get any worse. Daily calls to Technical Support. Sometimes, several calls in one day. Problems with the Internet service at least once a week. The longest wait times on the phone. I've been on hold for up to 1 1/2 hours. The cable guys and technicians who come to the house are professional, knowledgeable, diligent and courteous. But there is only so much they can do with a company that doesn't want to talk to their customers because they just don't care. Talk about a captive audience. Everything takes way too long to resolve and they're trying so hard to connect you to a chat bot, the customer service guys are alright but their hands are tied and every small bit of confirmation or information takes them around 10-15 minutes to get because they probably have slow internet (ironic). We moved from Massachusetts to Florida in January. We contacted Spectrum to sign up for their services and then we contacted Xfinity to cancel our services with them. It is now April and we're still being charged for service for our 2 phones from Xfinity. I've called Xfinity multiple times. I was assured last month that OOPS they made a mistake and that 1. We would receive a refund directly deposited into our account within 72 hours . 2. There would be no more problems and we were completely out of their system. As of today, after several hours with them, they told me that I was NOW out of their systems and that I wouldn't be getting any more bills...no wait, one more bill and oh, no one there has the authority to reimburse our money. read more

Oh this is funny. So you are prompted to give an answer to an adaptive information acquisition AI. I'm no rocket surgeon, but I know I'm talking to a computer. Not an actual person. Again not a genius here. What makes me laugh is this AI has a recording of somebody hitting a keyboard in the background, as if to somehow deceive the caller that there's no one there taking your call. You give an answer, and then the pre-recorded program gives you the sound of somebody typing in their background. I'm just dumbfounded that they, ( whomevet came up with this program, and the people who agreed that this was a good idea) did a third party case study and found that more listeners agreed this was the best way to gain confidence of their customers LOL And not the actual redundancy of repeating the same information first to an AI and then to someone who barely can understand you because they're in some third world country while their kids are screaming and running around the kitchen as this underpaid woman is trying to keep her bills paid and take care of customer service at her kitchen table. And even though I got the problem that I'm calling Xfinity about now I have to feel bad for the person I'm talking to. How can you even imagine to make any of this crap up? There was probably three or four options Xfinity could have gone with with customer care when they enacted their business model. When you try to leave with your phone, you will find out that xfinity has locked your phone even when you have satisfied all criteria to have an unlocked phone. You now cannot do any automated payments on the phone. everything has to be done online and if you have any questions, you cannot get an answer. It's unacceptable to have that much lack of communication with your customers. My advice is do not go with Xfinity because if you have a problem you're gonna have to pay the price earlier I had a problem and it took me over 22 phone calls to get my answers. I have been a Comcast customer for all of my adult life. I just switched to Frontier because they offer a better service for half of what Comcast was charging. I had ongoing issues with connection with Comcast and got fed up. when I called to ask if they had a better rate to offer they tried selling me more service. Bad enough my current service didn't work why would I buy more. Needless to say, I just got a $130 bill for early termination.
