We were more than satisfied with the job they did. A small job for them, but a big relief for us.

Our boiler went out on New Year's Day. I called Douglas Mechanical; they offered to come out…read moreimmediately but were upfront about what could and could not realistically be accomplished that day, and advised waiting until normal business hours to avoid unnecessary cost. I chose to wait until the next morning. They called me before they were even open to schedule the tech. He arrived that morning, diagnosed the problem, confirmed power to the failed component before replacing it, sourced the correct part locally, and had the system back online the same day. Two hours door-to-heat. No upsell, no pressure, reasonable cost, and very clear communication throughout. This is a professional operation that values doing the right thing over running the meter.

When making the appointment, I was told one price. Then billed another after service was done. I…read morewas asking both techs about pricing and they would not disclose it. I spoke to the manager and the person who booked the service and they said they spoke to the tech and the tech said that he did disclose. He did not. He even stepped out of my home for a full 45 min and said the piece he needed would not be charged. I was irrate about the situation and was told they would follow up. They did not up until 3 weeks later. They said they would follow-up with an agreement and they did not. I waited for said phone call and when trying to deal with the situation again, the manager pit me on hold bc I was irrate about repeating the situation again and told me I had agreed to a payment plan, when I did not. Then she said she would send my things to collections because they did not want to deal with my tone nor my situation. I was already upset at the fact they charged more and did not disclose fully what was being done as far as pricing . When the tech finished, I asked him if the price would be what was disclosed when I first made the appointment and he said yes. And then I was billed an extra 500 and some change. I normally would like to work out a plan but they kept me waiting and we're not being truthful about their pricing and work . Please if you do boom with them, ask them to disclose everything and press on disclosing pricing. Joann and Debbie were not very clear on pricing and then would place me on hold or hang up. I waited for 3 weeks for a follow up and all I got was text about a past due bill and when I followed up, they still did not want to hear anything I said because I was raising my voice. Well I was upset after being ignored, not helped and they were deceitful of their pricing. The tech lied and when I said ask the other tech, she placed me on hold and did not want to help. Yes I was upset because thats not how you do business and leave people waiting for a follow up. I never disclosed nor agreed to a payment plan. Joann was supposed to call me back to work something out and she never did . And when I brought that up, she told me that " i should be grateful, work was done at my house." No. I would have been grateful if you guys would have been upfront about pricing when I was asking about everything being done and not blindsided by a bigger bill, no follow up and the condescending tone of your office. Now they are sending ny bill to collections all because I wanted a detailed disclosure and better service for this incident. Please be aware when doing business with them.

My indirect, oil-fired, hot-water heater had formed a large, brown puddle on the floor of the…read morebasement -- a sign the steel interior tank had rusted. It was made by Weil-McLain and was under a lifetime warranty. I contacted Absolute Mechanical Systems, and we arranged an appointment for an estimate. I also called my oil company, which sent a salesman. My oil company's quote was $2,653 for a stone-lined water heater (price including labor and removing the old heater). I emailed and called the salesman to see whether he had asked Weil-McLain about the warranty (which he said he would do), but he didn't respond. Curt Woodworth of Absolute Mechanical Systems did contact Weil-McLain. After some back and forth (the company initially wanted proof that I'm the original owner of the water heater, which I am), Curt got the lifetime warranty to apply. Bottom line: Thanks to Curt, I got a new, larger (a 40-gallon as opposed to the exiting 32-gallon) water heater at no cost! With Curt's labor, the total cost of the installation, $1,270, came in at less than half the competitor's quote. Curt was professional, pleasant and prompt. He even pointed out a few other repairs that will require a plumber. I highly recommend him!

They were easy to deal with from the first call to Amanda to the estimate with Curt to the job being completed with Curt, Kyle, and Chris. Everyone was always pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. There were no surprises in pricing and the job came out great. I will definitely use AMS again in the future!
