This is the worst company I have dealt with since I got my first cell phone back in the 80s. They lie. They're the worst predatory company ever. They make claims and offer services that are built on lies. I was told by one of their very own representatives, a representative on the phone,. that since I was eligible for the "Internet Essentials" ..which is a promotion they offer in some context WITH our government (because you have to send proof). It's a $9.95/mo wifi service for people getting any type of governmental assistance. Then during my purchase of wifi, they told me about promotions for phone service since I was eligible for their internet essentials. So, I then was connected with a phone rep who said that I could also get up to 3 phone lines ported over. And, any of those lines would be eligible for a free phone. And, the cost for all 3 phones on 3 lines were eligible for unlimited data for $30/mo. Yep, all 3, $30/mo, unlimited mobile data and free phones as long as they were ported over. I made sure to have them repeat the offer and make sure everything was clarified and they verified exactly those terms. Then, I was having an issue with logging into their mobile app, so I had to call them, that took 1.5hrs. They kept transferring me, endlessly. I kept calling back, getting transferred, endlessly.. because still, even after 3 days I couldn't log into the phone app account! Long story short, I spent a total of about 8 hours of my own time finding out what a lying, cheating scam they're doing with people who get governmental assistance! I was told by one of the supervisors (yes the problem was by this time, escalated). I was told that the sales team lied to me. I was told that yes, sales representatives lie in order to get the sale! And, lol (not really funny) I was told 3 different monthly amounts every time I called in! Now, I would have believed this if it was still 20 years ago, but today? Seriously? Can you image how many people they have managed to swindle in the past 20+ years if this is allowable in their system? How many of those people were low income? How many were/are elderly? Poor education??? ,.....??? It's predatory. I can't believe that companies are still getting away with bait and switch and straight up lies? Omg, I'm so disappointed not only in such a huge company's swindling but also that our government is not protecting us. Still. It's 2021! Really?? I love cable TV. Unfortunately, I can never watch cable TV, because the only company that offers "cable TV" in my area is Comcast, and they are unable to provide me with cable TV that works for more than 2 hours at a time. Since they won't charge me for just the 2 hours that it works, I think I have to settle for watching stuff online (during the intermittent Comcast Internet function) or waiting for DVDs. Don't worry, though! Comcast has a customer service guarantee!! They'll tell you about it over and over again while they screw you over and over again. Unfortunately, this is what the "guarantee" means: Comcast can F you over as much as they want, and then they can lie about it as much as they want. Do not waste your money or time with Xfinity. March of 2020 I bought a google pixel out right. it was paid off before it even touched my hands. Than november of that year I bought a LG out right. In the little book the phones came with said when your phones are paid off you can get them unlocked. Well they were both paid off before they ever touched my hands. December 2021 I turned in the cable box, and I spoke with a rep in the store. I asked if the phones where unlocked and he pulled up our accounts and he said yes. He asked why I told them were moving to a place that xfinity doesn't serve and yes you all say the service is ok but I have health issues and i need amazing cell reception. He said yes your phones are unlocked. So we moved and service was very very spotty. So we ordered sims that work where we are. popped them in and the sim was rejected bc phones are locked. SO we called xfinity adn the shit show was unleased. so from december 4th to january 15th ouir bill went from $35 once a month to $698.18. They said they would fix that and we had to pay our past due before they would unlock the phones. I explained that i have never missed a payment (i have statements to prove it) I tuned in all our cable stuff and internet stuff. Its only been couple weeks and I was told our devices were unlocked and there paid for, I need my phone bc i have serous health issus. They didnt care after 6 hours of being transfered (yes i have the recording still) i had to take a break. So weekish later I tried agian and my bill is now $800. 2/1/2022 after being on hold on chat for 3 hours I finally got in contact with a real person. He was helping me unlock it and asked me to reset the device and tell him a code. Well i went to type it in and while i was typing it in. I was transfered to another person. There telling me i have to pay past due of 357.70 ( i havent paid anything I dont understand there math.) i have no active account, i turned everything in that i didnt pay. Its only two paid off phones wth. transfered me 16 times now and there all saying i have to pay to unlock this things. I decided to call them, they will not let me talk to a superviser. The gentle man said i need to pay my bills the phones are there property ( i still have the reciets stating i owe nothing for the phones) They transferred me to someone else and i have been sitting on on hold now for another 3 hours. Called to set up urgent service in college town. Guy in the phone rudely refused to explain the variety of options for prices / speed, insisting that the one he offered was the cheapest and best deal. Later I find out a friend is receiving faster service at a cheaper price... from Xfinity. We were pressured and manipulated into overpaying for a worse plan, because it "comes with free movies online" - which I explained I don't care about. I call back about switching plans, no answer, leave a message, nothing. Another headache during the first week of class. 0 stars. Learn from my mistake and research the service options before calling to set up, if you insist on supporting this bullshit company. I just called.....4 times. 1st call - hung up on. 2nd call - transferred to department B from department A. 3rd call - department B said that A was wrong and that I needed to call them back. 4th call - talked on the phone for 21 minutes (very promising), was placed on hold, and it went back to the main menu..... After talking with service reps I asked to be transferred to a rep in the USA and was transferred back to the same department overseas three times. Then asked to be transferred to a supervisor and it took 30 minutes for that to happen. Only to be told their hands are tied and they couldn't help me. Not one apology, not one understanding person. I am currently paying for the fastest internet and WiFi connection on their platform. WiFi is constantly always in and out, loses connection and I am always asked to join my phone's hotspot. Even when joining xfinity's hotspot its very slow and sometimes unresponsive. The company itself does not have a care for their customers and clearly doesn't know how to fix the problem. I am still paying/being charged an extreme amount for services that aren't working which I have expressed. I would not recommend xfitnity services to anyone, it pointless to pay that much money for something not to perform/work especially when your job requires you to be online. read more

For those who enjoy being frustrated to the point of throwing your phone in the trash, give the local office a call, and enjoy being run in circles by a voice bot that cannot understand words like, "customer service", "technical support", and "go to hell." As for internet connectivity issues in our home, its hit or (mostly) miss. With our provided modem a few unobstructed feet from the receptor devices (smart tv, laptop, ect) we get average to poor connectivity, which cannot be explained by support. Measuring signal strength shows that it can wildly vary from day to day, even with only one device in use. This customer is looking for a competitve service. read more

I gotta say, I've never had an issue with Comcast and the times I needed customer service (only twice so far, knock wood) were pretty painless. Initially when we set up cable/internet at my apartment we walked to the Comcast office in Davis Square and, aside from having to bring in the previous renter's cable modem and exchange it for a new one, had no hassles setting things up. When we discovered that only one floor of our split-level was wired for Comcast they sent a technician out the Saturday after I called, he came on schedule, and the problem was fixed in 10 minutes. He even gave me suggestions on how to fix my broken TV. I'm not thrilled about the prices, or about my own preoccupations with TV now that we have cable, but I have no beef with the customer service folks. read more

I am a web developer and work from home. I need a dependable high speed internet connection. Somewhat affordable would be nice. Comcast does not satisfy and of these requirements. Their internet speeds are not as advertised, and I have constant connectivity issues. And they are beyond expensive. I also use Netflix streaming. This too has issues with Comcast. Movies either don't load or these are constantly stopping. Same goes for Amazon. And I've tried on multiple devices, so its not a problem on my end. Why does Boston not have any decent options for high speed internet? As you will have read in other reviews, Comcast is not well liked. The second that Google Fiber arrives will be my favorite day--I will surely cancel all of my services with Comcast (and I'm sure pay a hefty fee for doing so). read more

I recently swapped out my gateway because I was told I could upgrade based on my internet speed. I never had an issue with my WiFi until the switch. I have restarted the gateway and called for tech support multiple times. The last time I called I was told they would check back within 15-30 minutes to make sure my connection didn't keep dropping. NO ONE CALLED! I have a newborn baby and have my monitor and other sensors that rely on the internet. I sincerely recommend any other internet provider than Comcast! Also, they charge way too much. While the internet only option works most of the time it has mysterious slowdowns. They get resolved (after an hour on the phone) mysteriously. Not good. Worse, since I'm not one of the "standard XFinity" use cases they have no support whatsoever. All I want to do is register HGTV over Apple. Ok first of all i have never had to speak to so many complete fools in my life!! really i had called last week about ordering another cable box for one of my other rooms. Then something told me 2 days later to call up comcast and have them track my shipment. Well come to find out whoever "processed my order" must not have known what the hell she was doing because she didn't eve order my cable box. Then i had to explain to 5 different people that listen one of your co-workers screwed up and now i have this installation scheduled (that was 2 days beforehand) and there was no freaking box to install. After being on the phone and online for over an hour someone finally tells me to just call and have them modify the installation so the technician can bring the box with him. Well that didn't work out either so now i have a technician coming to install a cable wall outlet in my son's room with no convertor box to go with it. SMH soooooo ridiculous read more

We have no other choice in our apartment building, if we did we wouldn't have gone with Comcast. 2 years ago we moved and it took Comcast a month to get our service going, 5 appointments (3 of which were no shows) and at least 20+ phone calls. We just moved again, supposed to get service August 23, and we still don't have it. We're at phone call #7 now and our 2nd missed appointment. If all goes well on our 3rd appointment, they will have left us without service for 3 weeks...but that is if they show up. I ordered a 6 pack of Xfi Pods from Xfinity/Comcast and never received them. I ordered them on July 29th when I upgraded my modem and my internet speed. After we received the upgraded/updated modem I called customer support and the agent assured me that they were reordered. After another week, I had not received the Xfi Pods and called again. In short I called 4 separate times and never received the Xfi pods. What I did notice was that my bill was now well over $1,000. Xfinity charged me 4 separate times to the cost of $841.00. I contact customer support 7 times and each time I was assured that the issue would be remedied and the agent stated "we can see that you were never shipped the Xfi Pods". On the last call that I had with them after receiving a notice of cancellation if I did not pay the balance I was assured that the $841.00 would be credited, however, that I needed to schedule a payment using my credit card and make a "payment arrangement or my service would be shut off. Of course I provided my credit card and you have never provided me the credit that was supposed to have been made last month. Your company is a rip-off and I will do everything in my power to ensure through any medium I can find to let everyone know. I am an upstanding citizen and my wife and I both have good jobs and excellent credit. This situation is as ridiculous and unbelievable as I have ever seen. read more

This company is a joke. I contacted the company back in April when I was moving. I was told that there would be a $100 disconnection fee, which is only refundable if I re-established service within 90 days, which I did. I was told the only thing I would pay would be the bill of about $35, which I should get a bill shortly. Anyway, I re-established services in a few weeks after canceling. Anyway, they sent me a bill for $134. However, had I paid the $34, Comcast would have still sent my name to collections because it took me calling to get the $100 removed. If it wasn't for my building only working with xfinity, I would not have this crap in my home. The associates don't follow through on what they need to. But that doesn't matter. Comcast just came THREE HOURS early! When does that happen? I work 9-5 so the only available time is a Saturday and who wants to waste 1-3 PM waiting for the cable guy? My cable guy was quick, polite and not scary (which is one up from last time when I got the heebie geebies being alone in my studio with a guy who was a bit too, um, friendly). Called XFINITY customer service on 1/3/2017 to log a complaint about spotty internet and cable service. 1. Waited on the phone for 40 minutes and was told I would be called back, never received the call. 2. Finally called back again and spoke with someone else who created a ticket to have a tech come out to diagnose issue. 3. Tech came by and saw that the original tech who set up the modem and DVR boxes hadn't screwed in the cables properly so the signal has been compromised from the beginning (2 years, supposed to be highest quality connectivity and has been on and off spotty) 4. Called in and asked for a credit and was told the cables not having been screwed in tightly enough was my fault and they wouldn't offer me more than 15 dollars. Terrible customer service, reps as well as supervisors have poor attitude. Only bright spot was the service tech who came out to residence, he was a bright guy and friendly/courteous. I am not sure if this is the location, but I am sure this is the Comcast that is terrible in service. A few days ago, we called them to set up the cable in our new apartment and told them that we already had a modem so we do not need to rent one. The service people showed up (not to mention I have to wait for three hours for them to show up), and said that we must rent their modem because his paper shows that we ordered to rent a modem! I hesitated to write this review because most people would not benefit from reading this review. Most people do not have a choice to make when it comes to cable service, and you already know Comcast is rated by many as the worst company in the US. However, I still feel if enough people (suppose 1 million?) tell their bad experiences on Yelp, Comcast may realize that improving service is good for its own profit (the bad publicity may hurt business in areas that has competition.) read more

Really terrible company. The tech reps are ignorant, and while they are clearly American, many of them seem to have a hard time speaking clear and understandable English. In order to actually get my internet service working I had to spend 2 hours on the phone, an additional tech visit (which did nothing, btw, and which they tried to bill me for), then an additional 2 hours on the phone. Then, finally I had a tech savvy friend help me out, and he solved the problem. I will never choose their service again, and if I have any further problems I am canceling the service and going with RCN (sadly, I don't get FIOS in my area). read more

A star is not deserve. I have 3 services with them that are scheduled to get cutt off before my next billing cycle. I have been a loyal customer for 3 years. The customer service department and Customer Solution are so nasty. But it is obvious not their fault, the CEO and higher up manager allow it to happen. Conversation are monitor, for what? I am absolutely discuss by their lack of loyality and compassion for their customers. I called them many times for internet services issues. They sent technicians 3 times during pandemic and until today I am still experiencing connectivity interruptions and slow speed. One of the technican told me the there is connection issue from the actually xfinity neighbor poll and noticed it is not sending signal to all residents the way it should. Especial during windy and wet days we lose connection quick and for long time. The Technican said xfinity were aware and will be fixing the issue. I am paying $100 for internet alone, paying for 200mbps and getting 68 and less mbps. I am not getting my money worth and the Xfinity solution center did nothing to resolve my issue, instead I was offered $20 toward my current bill for " my trouble". $20 is not a guaranteeing I will not go through the trouble over and over again. I ended up scheduling for my services to be canceled. I think they got their pride stuck high up their a$$ that they do no care about losing current customer. Xfinity is terrible. This week alone we've been out twice for a full day, without any reasonable explanation and without any estimated time that the service would be back up. Impossible to reach someone either, you always reach an automated system. In the past after waiting for 45 min on the phone to talk to someone I asked if they would provide a refund or discount since we had to buy more data from our cellular provider since we had to use our phone as a hotspot, but Comcast Xfinity refused to help. I signed a 2-year contract for cable, phone and TV service for a "monthly recurring fee of $125.30, but the bills are all around $167.70, $42 dollars higher than the quote. When I called to inquire the discrepancy, they told me that some items were not included in the quote and refused to adjust the bill amount. This is sheer cheating! I am quite normally an understanding, exceedingly patient, and easy-going person when it comes to any type of service. As a person with extensive customer service and support in my background, I have learned that changes in prices and service that negatively impact consumers is not always the direct fault (or always even in control of) the company that supplies the service. With this context that I make the point that Xfinity is perhaps the worst company with which I have ever had the displeasure in working. Since moving to my current apartment about 2 years ago, I have used Xfinity's internet and cable services. Xfinity was and still remains the only service provider in my area, leaving them with effectively a local monopoly. I signed up for their high-speed internet when I first moved in, which originally costed $39 per month. When I began experiencing issues with connectivity in my building during the first week of service, it took 7 phone calls, 3 service visits, and one set of incorrect equipment over a span of a month and a half to even begin using my service, during which time I was charged the monthly fee, which I had to contest on the phone for almost an hour with customer service in order to have refunded. Eventually, the second manager I spoke with offered to give me a discount over 6 months as part of a package to include cable for free. You could say things got off on the wrong foot, but I was willing to give them another chance. The next three months went very smoothly, until a routine customer service call revealed that they had been overcharging me for my internet service for three months. Essentially, I was getting basic high-speed internet at the cost of BLAST! service, which is nearly double in price. This time, a very kind and courteous customer service rep apologized and was able to credit my account for the difference. A few more months passed when suddenly my bill nearly doubled, going from approximately $70 per month to $112 in one bill. I calmly called customer service for an explanation, which to my stunned surprise, they could not explain. After going back and forth with a manager for an hour, he "found a promotional deal" that would lock in my internet and cable at a fixed rate of $69.99 per month plus fees if I signed a two-year contract. I agreed assuming this would stop the price hikes and given that my hands were tied with no other options for service in my area. All of this leads me to this week, when six months into my agreement, the internet portion of my bill rose yet AGAIN by 50%. After spending a half-hour on the phone the other night with a customer service rep that did not seem to know what they were doing, I was asked to call back again at some other time. I have absolutely had it with the service from Xfinity and cannot WAIT until either A) a competitor moves into the area or B) I relocate to a new apartment. Xfinity is the sleaziest, most unprofessional, and least responsive company with which I have ever had the misfortune in dealing. I would not recommend them to anyone who can avoid their service. I was going to write that I would only wish this company on my worst enemies, but that would be considered cruel and unusual punishment. I hope this company goes out of business. End rant. read more

Several outages weekly not monthly fucking weekly and they'll say it was only out for 5 min when it takes atleast 5 min to reconnect I had one week where the service was almost up for only 2 minutes at a time. Then whenever you call or come back n to complain they try to upsell you which remind you. They charge fees for. They have so much"fine print" as they say. Two months into my new place sure enough there was a charge.
