    Shrimp Fried Rice

I came here on a Friday night with my husband, mum, and baby, it wasn't super busy, but there was a small crowd on the first floor. First thing I noticed is that this place is NOT stroller/wheelchair friendly - to get into the restaurant there are steps, to get to the bathroom, there are steps, and the tables are quite close together so any strollers or wheelchairs would be in the way. The food, however, was just delish! We ordered the hot and sour soup (I don't recommend this) to start, along with the spicy Naruto cucumber roll, which was absolutely fantastic! So great for anyone looking for a low carb option. For mains, we ordered Thai curry, the double delight, and shrimp fried rice. The double delight was absolutely phenomenal! The fish was cooked perfectly, and so was the shrimp - the sauce was sweet with a very small kick, and complimented the dish so so well! The fried rice was my fave - they truly put magic in this, it was so simple but soooo delicious!!!!! The Thai curry was so so, admittedly it wasn't much of a Thai curry, it tasted more like they used a curry powder instead of a traditional Thai curry paste. Still not terrible though! Overall ok experience, but the food was great, so I'd certainly order from here again, but most likely to enjoy at home as opposed to coming in person!

Enjoyed a lovely dinner with friends last night. Food was very good as was the service. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. My friend also had the shrimp dumpling soup which she said was delicious. Parking is ample.

**GROUPON USERS BEWARE!!!** I had a Groupon for this place that was valued for $50 worth of sushi and drinks. When I went to redeem my Groupon, my waitress said that my total was $49.27, and therefore I cannot redeem my Groupon. I then ordered a Philadelphia Roll which cost $6.00, which would now bring my total to $55.27, which should allow me to use my Groupon. The waitress comes back to the table saying I MUST order $10 worth of additional food in order to use the Groupon. That doesn't even make sense as that would now bring my total to $59.27. I was forced and coerced into spending more money than I had to...which left a very bad taste in my mouth. I will say though, the food was tasty. The rolls tasted very fresh, and had great flavor. My boyfriend and I ordered the lover roll, the Mexican roll, salmon avocado, spicy salmon, Philadelphia roll and pork gyoza. The Lover Roll and the spicy salmon roll were absolutely delicious. The gyoza was great. Lightly pan fried to perfection with wonderful flavor. It was very cold inside. I had goosebumps throughout my entire meal. Everything was fine until the whole Groupon situation. I am on the fence if I would return.

My son was just okay with the Sushi Dinner for 2 but I was not. I expected more. It was blegh in my opinion.

I went to Xaga last night and ordered the Sushi & Sashimi dinner for two. My son and I were not impressed. I also ordered the duck fried rice. Also not impressed. My son ordered the fantastic roll. He liked it. Note that he did not love it. I heard good things about Xaga from my Moms Groups on FB. Perhaps Xaga had an off night last night. Even the Diet Coke was flat. I paid for an expensive dinner and left 18% gratuity. The experience wasn't good. I can't even say whether the waitresses/servers were nice or not. They took our order, delivered the food and it took a while to flag one of them to get our check. They didn't come by to see if everything was okay. I had to ask for water for my son and I to drink. As someone who worked in food & beverage, I left the standard tip because I know they depend on it. However, I don't believe it was well-deserved. Like I said, took order, delivered, disappeared and didn't check if we were satisfied with our order. Speaking of, the dinner for two did not satisfy. I may give Xaga another chance to redeem themselves. There has to be a reason why they were recommended by the moms of my FB group!

Go early. We were there at 5pm on a Monday and it filled up quickly. Great place to go on a Monday when most restaurants are closed.

Ok. So I've lived in this neighborhood for years, love sushi, but never went here before. Boy, was I missing out. If it wasn't for the Groupon, we may not have gone at all, and now we will keep going back. We ordered like it was our last meal: Crispy Duck Roll - Yum! Kani Salad - Missing some spice, but really fresh Dynamic Roll - Lobster with salmon and spicy mayo on top - hubby liked it Shrimp avocado roll - Creamy Avocado, fresh shrimp Mango Roll - beautifully presented and really good White Tuna, Avocado Roll - fresh and creamy Eggplant and Tofu - more deep fried tofu than eggplant. Not enough spice, but really good Duck Udon - crispy duck meat in perfectly cooked noodles Shrimp Pad Thai - sweet, not spicy. We asked for some sort of spicy sauce and the sriracha helped. Still not what we're used to, but good. Shrimp were huge and tasty Overall, really good. We'll be back for sure.

Sushi is very good $10 for a small container of lettuce only and a half Avocado for $10? Would rethink that price

    Vegetable Spring Roll

I ordered this for my boyfriend as a surprise for his birthday. Being out of the country and knowing he loves a good sushi I decided to give them a try. I pre ordered the meal for a specific delivery time and I was pleasantly surprised with the on time delivery. He was surprised with the presentation and he really enjoyed his meal. I would definitely recommend them.

Sake-tini...it's delicious! Has the scent of a melon drink but definitely not sweet. It's a sipping kind of drink. Lychee martini

This place is highly recommended by one of our friends but it took us awhile to actually check it out. It instantly became a favorite. Happy hour offerings come in their standard size but at the discount prices. And that's true for the happy hour drinks too...So enjoy plenty (and responsibly)!

Never disappointed with this place. Sometimes there's a wait to sit on a busy night but the food is always amazing. We ordered take out because I was working and they brought right to my job. The always package the food well and when we tell them how to separate it per person when they package it. It's always perfect. Over the years they've only messed up once or twice and they are willing to fix any of there mistakes.

Unfortunately, our food took an exceptionally long time to arrive, and my potatoes were undercooked and hard. That said, the lobster Benedict was absolutely delicious and easily the highlight of my meal. My friend ordered the steak and eggs and requested her steak medium, but it came out well done, which was disappointing. Another friend ordered the lobster mac and cheese and said it was very filling--so much so that she had leftovers to take home. The Caesar salad was good, and the fried calamari was also well prepared and not overly oily, which I appreciated. We also missed the show, which was a bit of a letdown. Despite the service delays and a few issues with the food preparation, there were enough positives that I would return and give them another try.

Our waitress made us feel completely comfortable we were laughing, having side conversations, and genuinely enjoying ourselves all night. By the end of the evening, she even said, "Goodnight, love you!" and quickly laughed saying she didn't mean to say it. That pretty much summed up the vibe of the night friendly, relaxed, and memorable. The food was excellent from start to finish. I had the Caesar salad appetizer, which was very good, and my sister had the calamari, which she said was excellent. For our entrées, we both ordered the chicken parmesan with alavaca sauce, and it was absolutely delicious. To finish the night, we shared the crème brûlée for dessert, and it was the perfect treat. The portion is definitely big enough for two people, so I wouldn't recommend ordering one per person. The location is beautiful and right by the water true to the restaurant's name. The only small thing to note is the parking. There are two parking lots, and the first one is definitely the better option. The second lot leads closer to the waterfront entrance and can feel a little tight and snug when parking. Overall, we had an amazing time and would absolutely go back. The food is always delicious, the atmosphere is welcoming. In fact, our experiences were so positive that when it came time to celebrate my daughter's college graduation, there was no question where we wanted to host the dinner. We chose Nunzi's for a celebration with 20 guests, and they exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Owner Al was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process, offering thoughtful menu recommendations and helping us create a memorable experience for our family and friends. Also careful to note any food allergies, and accommodate dietary considerations like gluten free and vegan. While his suggestions were excellent, truthfully, everything we've ordered at Nunzi's over the years has been fabulous. The quality of the food is consistently top-notch, portions are generous, and the pricing is very reasonable for the overall experience. The service deserves special recognition. The staff is attentive, friendly, and efficient, making sure everyone's needs were met without ever feeling intrusive. They also have just the right amount of playful sass and personality to keep you smiling throughout the evening, which adds to the restaurant's charm. Whether you're looking for a family dinner, a girls' night out, a romantic date night, or a venue for a private event or special celebration, I highly recommend Nunzi's By The Water.
